SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Nov 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Nov 02, 2022 6:56 am

Good wet but not raining at the moment morning,

Yesterday was a somewhat restful day. After our blood draws (B had electrolytes done and I had liver function tests - all good results) we stopped at grocery store and then I puttered in my sewing room and also did some stitching. In the afternoon we went looking for items to make a name sign to put up at the end of our driveway since a driver took out our mailbox last week. We ordered special reflective numbers from the fire department and we want to put it all on a metal post at the end of our driveway. Today is chiropractor and then I plan to finish my cross-stitch project and gently wash it in a little Dawn dishsoap. It will be a Christmas stocking by end of business tomorrow! Hooray! It has taken me a year to do this project. Not sure what's up next in the handwork department. I have another X-st picture (not started yet), a hexie project that's sat for 3 yrs, but I'm thinking I want to do a wool applique. But I HAVE to have some kind of hand project at least sitting on my lap in the evenings. Even if I don't actually work on it. lol. I am my mother's daughter.

BECCA - sorry about the eye appt mixup. It happens to the best of us occasionally. But glad you found the thread you needed and got in your walk. I think you've said you are close to the Blue Ridge and, having been there many years ago, I know it is a soul refreshing area to walk in. I keep hoping we'll get back there again one day. How is the baby quilt coming along? How many blocks do you need to embroider?

CAROL - good luck with all your blood work and I hope your skin check checked out! Mug rugs are a nice exchange gift. I was working this week assembling and cutting fabrics to make 30 of the buggers! They are so cute but I may be weary of them by the time I finish them all! lol!

Our homemade pizza was good last night. I put every pizza topping on it I could find in my pantry and fridge. We have more than half of it left, but we're going to friends tonite for supper so pizza will wait another day. For tonite I am making an appetizer. I got a recipe from a culinary mystery I was reading for Christmas pinwheels. Cream cheese, pimentos, sliced olives, shredded cheddar, diced yellow pepper, diced green onions, diced green chilies, and a pkt of ranch dressing mix all combined and spread over green spinach totillas, rolled up, chilled, and sliced. Never made this before so crossing my fingers as I don't have a back-up plan.

What's your plan?

Good Morning,

Maryz - It must be nice to know the results of your blood work right away. I will wait until next Tuesday to find out. It is wonderful you have finished Bill's stocking, Congratulations!!

Becca - An oops on the appointment. I almost had that happen yesterday at my dermatologist. My calendar at home said 2:40 PM but when I looked at my phone it said 3:30 PM. I called my DH to make sure what my home calendar said and then I had only seven minutes to get to the appointment. I was three minutes late and waited 45 minutes before I was called.

After my blood draw yesterday, I went to Costco to order a second pair of glasses. I ordered not only a second pair of regular glasses, but also ordered a second pair of Sunglasses. Then I went shopping and found the Pyrex two-cup glass measuring cup to replace the one I broke a few weeks ago. I had looked at grocery store and Target and they did not have any. I found one (and I mean one) at Penney's. Then I met my co-Chair for lunch, and we matched up names for the mug rug exchange. We allowed members to pick the theme of the mug rugs they wanted. Only a few members picked Christmas as the theme. Many picked non-seasonal. I think in our age group we have enough Christmas and they wanted to have it out year-round. By the time we finished lunch it was time for the skin check at the Dermatologist. Happy to report all is good. Then I returned to Costco (right down the street) for a few groceries and gas. Finally, I went home for dinner. After dinner was the Board meeting. It was a very busy day!

Today we should go vote and we need to get some Chicken for dinner. I just want to stay home! However, I will go get some chicken for dinner.

You will find me in my sewing room on Zoom this afternoon. Take care and sew today!

Carol

Good morning everyone!
I made it in the am! LOL
Mary, your pizza sounds yummy! I made an alfredo pizza the other day, it was delicious! My little brother makes similar appetizers, they are delicious let me tell you! LOL He doesn't use a recipe and he has to tame the heat down 90% from what he eats to bring them here, they're my favorite. He also makes a dip that is totally crazy yummy!
🎉🎉🎉yay for finishing your cross stitch!
I can't do hand work anymore, my hand goes to sleep plus I can't see that well without good light at night.
Carol, wow you had a busy day yesterday! I haven't been busy but I've just tried to keep going. Yesterday I did 4 loads of laundry and a bathroom, made the bed and vacuumed 2 throw rugs and my energy was goners. Glad you made your appointment on time, it's a bummer we have to wait so long though.
Supper tonight is whatever is in the fridge.

Becca, I had my eye done last week and it took almost all day for them to return to normal.
I've never had that before.

Mary, Wooded Whimsy is going to either Jami or Danelle. I have another Christmas quilt I finished after Christmas last year that will go to either. Still deciding which is best for who.

Tina, bummer about your hands going to sleep. I have days like that, but it works itself out.

Jack has been under the weather today. He didn't want to walk this morning, which is very unusual for him.
Then he was just laying around being kind of lethargic. He's a little better this afternoon, but I still made him an appointment for tomorrow. He's napping right now. I was just hanging out with him reading. I finished my book, so I'll need to pull another one off the shelf.

Dinner will be enchilada pie.

Have a lovely evening.
