SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Oct 29th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Oct 29, 2022 6:18 am

Good morning,

Yesterday was a nice day, almost 60*, and dry. Lunch out with my 85 and 93 yr old friends was nice. I've known 93 yr old Norie since I was 17. That is about 54 years. She lost her hubby of 72 years last June and is kind of lost. My other friend, Esther, is 85. She and I met in a widow's support group 37 yrs ago. And Norie and Esther have know each other since about 1952 - 70 years. So there was a lot of history at that table!

Today my grandsons are coming for brunch. We're having HalloThanksMas. We haven't seen them together for many months, though we've seen them separately a few times. They have busy lives and Drew lives in Bremerton, 27 miles north of us and Alec lives in Tacoma, 15 miles east of us. And they work opposite hours. Makes it hard to all get together.

CAROL - did you find your invisible thread? You must have been talking about two different quilts? I've lost track of your projects, I think. :D

LORI - Italian dinner out and family back home for cake sounds like the purrfect birthday! I've always loved big family gatherings - the bigger and noisier the better! What kind of cake? Your birthdays are really close together, aren't they.

BECCA - sorry the crown was a bad experience. But can there really be a good crown experience? Getting an old one ground out is no picnic! Are you done now or do you have to go back? Some dentists do it all in one visit now. I'm glad the twins and parents can all be together during this time. Praying Brodee is doing OK.

This morning we are having eggs, hashbrowns sausages, fresh fruit, chocolate-filled croissants, and mimosas for brunch. AFter that comes Christmas presents! Tonite, the boys will be gone and we will have a light supper, probably either just a chef's salad or grilled cheese sandwich. And if I ask Mr. Bill, I know what one he'll choose. lol!

What are you choosing for your supper tonite?

Good Evening,

Maryz - I have been waiting for you to look at Modern Trees which you now have done. Thank you for the kind words. This is not like any of the quilts I have made in the past. I had fun with the quilting! This was the quilt with the metallic thread. I did use it on a few of the bows but could not deal with the thread breaking. Maybe if I had put it on the domestic it would have been fine. I sure don't blame you for not keeping up with the number of projects I am working on. The invisible thread is for the class I took last week. It is the swag border that needs invisible thread. I just cannot find it. I will probably borrow (?) from someone else.

Hope you enjoyed your brunch today and your visit with your Grandsons.

Lori - Happy Birthday to your Bill. Dinner out with cake at home sounds wonderful. Hope you had a wonderful celebration.

Becca - Good news on Brodee. I will keep praying that he has no more problems with the shunt. I think it is usual to need to go back to finish the crown.

Dinner tonight will be marinated grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, broccoli and salad which I need to go prepare. Good night, everyone!

Carol

Carol, we did have a great time.

Mary, I made angel food cake for Bill's birthday. Jonathan made white cake with raspberry filling and white frosting for my birthday.

Did a little yard work in the planters. Taking out the summer vines. They start to die out once the evenings get cooler. I also got the backing for my Wooded Whimsy.

We had Chili for dinner.

Sleep well my friends.
