We had a Benefit Quilt made from African fabric brought to us by our missionary family from Africa. We couldn't use it for our mission quilts as our missionary had intended because of the religious print and wording on the fabric . All wording is in French. Beautiful fabric with Lutheran symbols, etc. So we made a specy quilt and took donations for a benefit for this missionary family. Names were put into a box for each $5 donation. A winner will be drawn from this box and the winner gets the quilt.
Now we still had an abundance of this fabric, so we made a second quilt to gift to the missionary family for their own use.
Here are pictures of the front and back that I just completed. Another member has a long arm machine and will do the quilting.
Because they are now stationed in Belize and warm climate, we are going to use flannel instead of regular batting to make it lighter weight and not so extra warm.
Thanks for taking a peek.
