Just saying Hi!

Post by Cindybquilts » Tue Apr 19, 2022 12:01 pm

Dropping this in a new topic.

I haven't been around for a long time (life events, you all know), but I used to be CindyB.

So much has changed!

Mom passed away in Gebruary, 2014 (she loved the comfort quilt, DD has it now).

DH got lung cancer (from Vietnam, Agent Orange related) that had metastasized to his brain before it was found. He passed away in July, 2019. Due to C19, I wasn't able to completely finish grief counseling, and spent a lot of time cleaning up stuff that happened before and after he passed.

DD also got married in June, 2019 (DH's wish she kept with the wedding. She was his step-child, but those that knew DH know how he loves!) I still miss him, but am getting better at living with memories instead of him and moving on .

Two big things last year (well, three, all related). My DSIL got into a PhD program in Nebraska, I moved here, and my DGD was born in June (was supposed to be July, but all is well z smartest, most beautiful girl!)

So, I'm on my own, with a different dog (which DH picked out after our Sheltie passed from old age), and an amazing DGD that both keep me busy.

When I moved, I went from a 3 bed/2 bath house to a 1 bed apartment, so I've been careful about picking and choosing quilting supplies!

Much love to all.

CindyB (quilts, now!)

Cindy, so glad to hear from you. Glad to hear you are still quilting. Working through the grieving process has been tough for so many because of Covid. I bet having a precious granddaughter helps.

Hi, Cindy,

Nice to see you back! A lot has happened to you in the last 8 years. Life has a way of doing that. Glad you have found a new happy niche. Congrats on your DGD! They can heal a lot of wounds. Don't be a stranger!

Hi there Cindy. It's really good to see you again.

Lots of ups and downs in your life over the last decade. It sounds like you have brighter days ahead with that new granddaughter to snuggle.

I thought I saw a message or post from you but don't remember which app it was on? FB, Instagram? I don't remember. When I went to access it it was gone. Or at least I was unable to find it again.

Hope you are enjoying your new life in a new house with new surroundings. Sounds like a fun adventure.

Take care and come back often,
Chriss

I'm on oth FB and IG, so either is possible!

We have had a busy couple of days here, more to come. My DSIL was admitted via urgent care and ED last night for emergency surgery for appendicitis, and ended up staying the night in ICU (only bed available so late in the day) due to a slight complication! I ended up staying at their house watching the baby so DD couple be with her DH. He came home today, but this is his first surgery, so was not aware that the complication with O2 levels was a possibility.... He's not to do anything for a week, can't even lift his DD, because he has a 10 lb lifting limit.

I will tell you, that DGD knew something was up, and was a little worried about where Dada was last night.... she roves (not quite ready to stand and walk on her own, but is very close to it!), and was sticking close to her Dad this morning.
