SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, April 16

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Apr 16, 2022 6:49 am

Good morning,

We're chilly and cloudy, but no rain or wind. Yet. But it's coming later this morning. Tomorrow is expected to be the nicest day in 2 weeks - sunny and 57*.

We hit Costco yesterday and I got 2 flats of impatients. I planted them in 7 different pots for our deck. We'll see how they do. Usually, half of them thrive and half of them die. Fingers crossed. I got some more work done on my penguins. They are a process, for sure. Today I plan to sew, clean, bake, and do a small amount of grocery shopping for fresh things for brunch tomorrow. We're going to have french toast, fruit, and bacon or sausages. Still deciding that.

CAROL - I hope you didn't have a reaction to your shot. I was just tired and cold. But by 24 hours after the shot I was just fine.

BECCA - I'm picturing your yard to be very pretty, colorful, and restful to look at, though perhaps not restful to keep up! And you do most of it all yourself. You are amazing!

JANA - I bet Crenda and Andrew loved the Space Needle. The view is amazing! I haven't been up there in many years and it's all been remodeled since. that's too funny about Becca's Christmas card arriving 18 months late!

VELDA - You know, I CAN decipher code, right??? RIGHT?? Tsk, tsk. Demerits for you! I hope you like the poly batting. You just reminded me we need to order another roll from Warm. We pass the factory when we go camping so we pick it up right from them on our way home.

LORI - good news on the taxes! I hope you didn't have to pay. What is the name of your sunflower quilt? Can we Google it? Did you finish your Jen Kingwell quilt? I have to admit, QIAD had her Bogo Heart on sale yesterday and I wasn't going to order it but come evening Bill asked if I did. I said no, and he said, "why not? - get it if you like it!" So I did. :D JANA teased me last year that I should make my Gypsy Dancer (for the fifth time!) in Valentine colors for our anniversary. and now I will! Only it will be this new pattern.

For supper tonite I think we'll have the spring rolls and a salad. We were going to have them on Thursday but ended up with chicken soup instead. My menus lately have been geared more towards cleaning out the freezer than by what I feel like cooking or eating. But I've run this by the HOH and he has OK'd it.

What sounds OK to you tonite?

Good morning all!
Mary, the gender reveal is going to be the 24th, I'm uber excited! We just found out when it was 3 days ago LOL
I need to look up inpatients, maybe I could grow some in my shade?
Glad your side affects only lasted 24 hours.
Your brunch sounds delicious!
I'm going to start baking today, I've had some girls begging for macarons so I'm going to do the shells/ cookie part of those today so I can fill and sandwich them in the morning. I'm also going to try my hand at a carrot cake roll, just like pumpkin log/ roll but a carrot cake one.... it looks yummy!
I need to do laundry and swipe through the house again too.
Supper tonight will be chicken alfredo and salad.
Tina

Good morning!

I am going to have a cauliflower ear! I have been on the phone with many of my nieces these past two days. They are the children of my brother who just passed. They seem to understand the drama that others are creating and needed to just talk to Aunt Jana. It's nice to know I am still loved by them. I was able to catch up on all their families and how many more great nieces and nephews I have - too many !

Dinner - didn't get my steak, so that will be today with a salad.

Mary - I too hate going to the grocery store right before a holiday and add that's it a Saturday is double ick! I learned about car wax in the tub a long time ago from my MIL. She did it for her kitchen sink to help keep it clean. They had very hard well water.

Tina - what fun at your house with the gender reveal. I'll bet everyone is rooting for a little sister for Matthew.

Becca - I love bears! But there needs to be distance between me and them! I saw lots of them as we camped in Yosemite for many years. I even rode with the rangers to take unwanted bears from the campground out to the back country when I was a kid.

Heading downstairs to my Batt Cave. My phone down there has a headset for hands free - I can still sew as I talk!

Hugs,
Jana

Maryz - Yes, I did have a reaction to the booster shot. Nothing too severe. However, neither DH nor I slept very well last night, both of us had achy, fever, queasy feeling. Nothing a little pain killer didn't fix this morning. I am still a little bit of achy but know I will feel much better in the morning.

Jana - Glad you are catching up with the family news. You are lucky to have a headset for hands free too.

Becca - I washed one of the vegetable drawers yesterday, I agree they are cumbersome! I do love flowers too.

Tina - Happy Anniversary! Happy reveal party! Just one more week!

Today I did get to the grocery store. Fairly early so there was a parking space without any problem. I also got my car washed. I will be happy if it rains. Just glad the car is clean.

Tonight's dinner was Sloppy Joes with carrots, sweet pickles and French Fries.

Mary, it's "Sunflower Patch" by Teri Christopherson. It's on of my favorites. Yes, I did see th Bono pattern on sale. I'm actually going to make her Wensleydale quilt next. It one in JK's latest book.

Tina, carrot cake thing sounds yummy.

Jana, glad you are catching up with family.

Today was Bill's aunt Wanda's 96th birthday. That is Bill's dads twin. This is the first birthday she is celebrating without her twin. She was a bit sad, but family in Illinois took her to lunch and they had a good time.

We had mushroom rice, broccoli, and yummy #@%*but for dinner.

Have a lovely evening.[ /color]
