SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 11th
Good chilly morning,
Our weather has turned kind of nasty for mid april - we are in mid to upper 30's at night and only upper 40's for daytime highs. With rain here and there and strong breezes. We were flirting with snow overnight but guess we're just a tad too low in elevation.
Yesterday I pieced the backing for WW and then hit the Goodwill for a thrifting fix. Found a lot of great bargains! Came home and got my sister's birthday packages all wrapped and boxed and Bill is going to mail it this morning. I've been using regular packaging to mail stuff lately instead of Priority boxes. I sent that quilt to my friend last week and it was only $11. Priority box that size would have been $21. Go figure. Bill did most of the laundry because he was watching a movie and sitting 10 feet from the laundry nook. he could fold and still watch the TV. Today I am cleaning the laundry room and our master bath before tub refinisher comes tomorrow morning. He's going to redo our 110 yr old clawfoot tub. This afternoon I'm taking Bill to the eye dr, and firewood is being delivered this evening. If there is time, I might start cutting out some of my Penguin Party pieces. But I don't have the background fabric yet so it will be only a half-hearted start on that project.
LORI - are your rice bags to heat in microwave and put around your neck? Those are really nice. I have three - one is rice, one is corn, and one is beans. Mike and I almost moved to Port Townsend back in 1983. I even had a promised job at the hospital there and Mike was hoping to be able to trade jobs with another officer who was wanting to move here. But the state wouldn't OK his job so we never moved.
CAROL - I do have extra dog towels on hand. Just hate the look of them on the furniture. Bill says he's going to Scotchguard them today. He forgot yesterday. Yes, it's easier to say what we had for supper. We ended up with a totally different menu last night.
VELDA - after I pieced my backing yesterday, it was kind of goof-off day here, too. Bill watched TV or read magazines all day, folding clothes whenever the dryer buzzed. I went shopping. Sometimes you just need a re-charge day.
BECCA - I had always thought it would be cheaper to recover than to re-buy, but learned how wrong I was. Kind of defeats the purpose of buying quality furniture, I guess.
IRISH - I know you're busy but maybe you'll have time to stop by. You've got us hooked on the Hays Eagle cam and we can't stop watching it! Bill even had it on the big screen TV much of yesterday. Such drama in the nest as they get bigger. Sixteen is turning into a bully and won't let eighteen have any food. Seventeen fights for it a little better but Eighteen is worrying us.
Last night I remembered we had half a kielbasa in the fridge so we had a potato/onion/pepper/sausage/egg scramble for supper. Tonite, we'll be having those chicken patty sandwiches, fries, and beans. I'm already hungry!
What's happening on your plate tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, April 11th
Good morning!
Aaron and Lila just stopped by. Sarah is watching little one while Aaron is at a meeting. She wasn't home yet from taking Ethan to school. Lila was hungry, she always is, so she got a bowl of cereal herself. No mess either, she turns 4 on Thursday and has her BD party all planned out. It will be a baby Yoda cake, chocolate and ice cream.
Dinner will be the orange chicken and rice I planned the other night. Michael decided at the last minute, as I was about to cook, that the car needed a run. He is getting the smog codes to reset to register that car. It doesn't get driven much, so needs this.
Matt and the boys will be here tonight to move the heavy pieces back in place. Michael and i struggled to move the pieces ourselves, as Matt forgot he said he'd bring the boys to help. Matt finally remembered last night he was supposed to help, so he will come today. It was too late the other night to call and remind him by the time we figured out he forgot.
Mary - my mom had a towel she kept on one cushion of the couch that my cat would lay on. He only laid on that towel. We could move it to other cushions, and so he moved too. Sounds like you hit the jackpot with you stop at Goodwill!
Well, it's time to move and clean some small stuff,
Hugs
Jana

I have a working oven! Didn't take long to change out the circuit board.
Also changed out and put my new lamps in the bedroom. They are perfect with my mission style furniture.
Matt and boys will finish the rest.

Jana, I bet you are so happy to have an oven again.
Mary, a rice bag is actually a bag. It's what they would carry rice in to the emperor.
https://extension.usu.edu/sewing/resear ... e-rice-bag.
I need to go get my glasses. Jack took them a couple weeks ago, and they had teeth
marks on the lens. I'd only had them 4 months, so they were covered to be replaced. I need to be more careful about where I place them.
Don't know what's for dinner tonight.
Have a lovely evening.

Going to a dance. This means dinner out, on the way. Pizza Man where I enjoy soup and salad bar.
So that's supper tonight. Today was laundering some church fabrics. Also did a small load of my own clothes.
Found a few pieces of fabric for two more school bags. I started putting that together. Will finish tomorrow after our quilting meeting.
Not much else going on here.

OK - me again-
Happy dance - I just got all my Giants games for the year. We added MLB TV here! And I can watch all the teams in the whole entire league, if I want. If I did this, I would really be in the dog house, with no electricity! LOL!
Giants play tonight and I have the A's on right now. We root for both.
Bye!

This is going to be a drive by. I am going to make Stuffed Pepper Casserole for tonight's dinner. DH just came in and said, favorite words: "let's go out".
