SUPPER CLUB - Feb2nd - GROUND HOG DAY!

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Feb 02, 2022 6:13 am

Good morning, everyone!

Today is ground hog day. Let's see what the REAL Phil has to say about spring. Crossing fingers! Though, being in Texas since before Thanksgiving, I have to say, it hasn't been too hard a winter for us!

Yesterday I did five loads of laundry - clothes (and not a moment too soon!) - and today I'll do bedding and towels. I also have a load of rugs to wash = our goofy dog likes to paw the rugs into a wrinkled pile to sleep on. Our dirty, long-haired dog. He has 3 rugs on either side and and at the foot of the bed in the trailer. They are getting pretty rank! I also put a lot of stuff away that came into the house from the trailer and pieced a backing for a lotto quilt top I put together while in TX. Then we had an impromptu Italian dinner out with friends. So nice to sit in a real restaurant again!! We haven't done that for a long time. I had cannelloni and Bill had spaghetti. And we both brought some home so we'll be eating leftovers tonite.

Later this morning we're going into Tacoma. Bill wants to get the oil changed in the pick-up, we're going to drop my sewing machine off for a well-deserved spa treatment, and then my favorite LQS, Trains, is having a mid-winter 40% off sale (batiks and WOW's not included) so it would be rude to Donna, the owner, not to stop by, don't you think, just to see what she's got . . . .

CAROL - how big is this quilt you are quilting?

JANA - I hope Sarah's vertigo goes away soon. I think Chickie can attest to it being difficult to live with. Sharona's son also was left with vertigo for 2 full months after having Covid.

LORI - what did you sew with friends yesterday? We live close to a high school with a lot of kids walking by our house. We finally learned to never mail anything from our mailbox because the kids were stealing any cards we mailed. One reason we finally got a PMB at the UPS store. Of course, now my magazines are missing! lol!

BECCA - wise to get your errands done before the snow hits. Is it aiming for you? I hope it doesn't delay Denise and Mark. Your orange cake sounds kind of yummy!

Well we didn't have our sausage scramble last night since we had that spontaneous supper with friends, Doyle and Susie, and we probably won't tonite either since we both brought leftovers home from the restaurant. I'll make a salad to add to our menu and we'll eat that scramble tomorrow night.

What are you having tonite?

Good morning!
I'm a swish through. Frankie went outside to get something from the garage so I've only got a minute. I've been looking this number, that number, pricing all kinds of things.... he's making metal doors for his cousins, they had something stolen the other night. Sooooo I'm the lovely assistant right now, I was going in my sewing room but haven't made it yet. I'll be paper piecing so need my mind just on that and not stopping every few minutes to look something up.
Mary, I know how the rugs get like that LOL I have problems with the couch covers, they can't leave them nice and straight and flat. But they do get smelly and they do help the couches not get smelly LOL
Your evening sounds great!
Oops gotta go.....
I'll be making veggie beef soup.
Tina

Good morning!

Yesterday was my drive through, today should be quiet. I have laundry dry going and turned Yoohoodi loose to vacuum. Only a couple of breakfast dishes to rinse and load.

Sarah has the girls today. Gracie is in school most of the day, so it's just Lila hanging out with Aunt Sarah. Gracie gets out before Ethan, so it's a easy pickup this afternoon for Sarah. They play together until Aaron is off duty.

I made too much rice last night, so it will turn into fried rice for tonight.

Sarah and I got our BD email from our favorite LQS. When you spend $50, you get $20, off. I can easily do that. It's good for the whole month. We will go over in a few days. I think I will plan a quilt and get the back for CR.

Mary - I had a rug in front of my glass door that my kitty always scrunched up to sleep in the warm sunshine. Sarah's kitty, Smudge drags his cat bed over to the heater vent on the floor, and sleeps on top of the vent, especially in the winter.

Tina - it's great to be the lovely assistant, but sometimes gets in the way of plans!

Well, off to change laundry,
Hugs,
Jana

Jana, what a great deal from the LQS. Which shop is that?

Mary, Yes, I did got hang out with friends, but I didn't sew anything. I worked on tracing and cutting out elephants. I'm almost finished. They look amazing out of Kaffe fabrics. I being a little particular with the placement so I get a good design. It's going to be a fun quilt. I did take my machine and threads thinking I would get that far. lol

Tina, I make quilts specifically for the couches. It is a struggle to keep them neat.

We did out walk and they boys are fast asleep. I need to vacuum up some dog and cat hair. Then I want to work on my elephants. This is the second quilt on my list for this year. I'm going to try and stay focused. I really need to go to the grocery store as well, but that cuts into my creative time.

Dinner will be chicken and potatoes.

Have a lovely day.

Lori - it's the Quilter's Lodge in Draper. It's a wonderful shop.

Right in the midst of a snow storm here in Illinois. Staying in and staying warm and cozy. I did sewing all day today. That's why I am so late. Busy, busy. Working on lap quilts.
Chili on the table tonight. I had some in the freezer yet. Nice warm meal for a cold night.
I won't try to type a long message since I am so late today.
Better go get the chili on the stove. DH is getting hungry.
Have a great night.

Tonight’s dinner will be Autumn Soup and Garlic Cheese Biscuits.

Today, I finished the first border, now to sew the final border. The quilt measures 67-inches square.

Our cat scrunch’s up a rug to sleep on. Funny animals do that.
