SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Jan 16th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Jan 16, 2022 5:18 am

Good morning,

Bill had a better night - slept well and QUIETLY which was a nice change for both of us. But he says his throat is still sore and he has a bad headache. No results from Covid test yet. We may take him to Urgent Care today.

I got Mr. Camel finished as far as I can go so he and the rest of his gang are all packed away until home. I dragged out my crazy quilt project. I brought all my scraps in a fabric tote and settled in for the afternoon. I got twenty 5-1/2" blocks made. I'll keep making blocks until I'm cross-eyed and then I'll go back and do the fancy gold stitching on the seams. This project is 13 x13 for a total of 169 blocks. It's partially done already so I only need about 80 more blocks. I did 20 yesterday. If Bill doesn't get well pretty soon, I may have to go back to that LQS! Oh darn.

BECCA - I hope your ticklish throat isn't a harbinger of things to come. This thing of Bill's seems to be settled in his throat. He can still smell and taste as much as he can with any other virus, for what that's worth. Glad to hear CA is eating a little better. Tell him to keep up that good work! Did you get much of that storm?

JANA - your days seem so filled with family, sewing, home, and more! It's good to be you!

VELDA - glad you are doing well. Keep up the eye-resting!

CAROL - happy rain!! I miss rain, though from what I hear, I will get more than my fill when we finally do get home again.

LORI - if I didn't have Scottie, and before him, Snickers, I'm sure I would have quit my daily walking years ago. They do say people who have dogs (and cats!) are healthier because they have to walk them.

I'm not even going to guess what our supper will be tonite. Poor Bill has little appetite so pizza was nixed last night and we had tomato basil soup, no sandwiches to go with. Who know what he'll feel like tonite. I can make mac & cheese, more soups, pancakes, eggs. All sick room/comfort food. His wish shall be my command.

What are you wishing for tonite?

Hi everyone! I am feeling a lot better today. I guess the drugs affected me more this time. 😉 I am much more bright eyed and bushy-tailed today.
Creamed Turkey was awesome so leftovers tonight. Thinking about a batch of cookies this afternoon. Wanted to make something chocolate for DH.
Hope Bill gets something to boost his recovery. No fun feeling so sick. Hope your test is negative. Hard to be patient for results!!
I never drive our fifth wheel, but I knew I could, if I had too. I had no trouble with driving the 1 ton by itself, just always was afraid of towing. So much to be aware of in turns, and parking.
I used to drive our Class-C motorhome, so I think I could have done the driving, but just didn't have too. 🤗
Hope all stay safe in winter storms and high waters from under water volcano on West Coast. It's all so awful!
Happy Day, to all.
HUGS, 💕 Vel

Mary, hope Bill starts to improve. You've got a lot done on the quilt. Bummer you ran out of background fabric. Is there a place to fill up water on the site?

Becca, I saw there was snow in your area. Stay inside.

Vel, if we get a trailer, I will definitely drive. I've driven smaller trailers before. I haven't watched the news, but I did see the volcano on the internet yesterday. Mother nature is quite amazing.

I got the Trip around the World block, and all the flying geese blocks done yesterday. Not too many to go. Looking forward to finishing this one up.

Didn't have pizza last night, so tonight I will order it.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon!

I threw a pot roast 8n the crock pot for dinner tonight. Let's hope thecrock pot knows how to cook! I will do mashed potatoes and a veggie, probably green beans to go with.

Stake Conference was wonderful. I just am sad at missing to see my friend. I did learn that her Dad has passed away, about 3 months ago. He was a good friend and my dentist for years.

Mary - oh my, I just read about Bill not escaping Covid. But glad to read of what they are doing for him. He will tire easily, so shorter stints driving home will be good.

Tina- congrats! New babies are wonderful! September is not that far off.

Lori - I am so in the mood for a good pizza! Haven't found one here yet in Utah. I doubt there is one!

Vel - happy to continue to hear of the good report on your eyes.

Haven't headed downstairs yet. Just fussing around upstairs and my 49ers game is on in a bit.

All the family are doing well.

Hugs,
Jana

Jana, there's a place north called Marcos. Their pizza is really good. Don't know if there is one down your way.

Maryz - Hope you remain well, so sorry Bill has Covid. I vote for staying put until he is better. I think he wanted to get dental work done.

Jana - Glad to hear Sandee is still okay.

Lori - Are you going to go to Road this week? I have classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and am going to the two events in the evening on Thursday and Friday. It will be a busy week for me!

Tonight's dinner was Sheet Pan Chicken. I used Orange Sauce on it and it was quite tasty.

I probably won't have time this week to get on and see what everyone is doing so stay safe and healthy everyone!!

Carol
