SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Jan 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jan 11, 2022 5:01 am

Good morning!

How is everyone this morning? We may not be good here. Bill woke up with a sore throat. I'm hoping it's from snoring, something he doesn't usually do but did last night. He also has a slight headache. We already have appts to get covid tests on Thursday. Crossing fingers.

yesterday I made my Bethlehem block for my Starry Night. Today's project - the shepherd. Our weather hasn't been very nice so we haven't seen our friends since Sunday. We only do outdoor visiting - at our insistence, I admit. So this is leaving me a lot of time to sew. Just for something different to do, I polished all the wood cabinetry in the trailer in addition to mopping the floors. Our fridge is acting up so Bill will be playing with that today.

I haven't talked to Autumn since yesterday morning so I don't know how the rest of her birthday went. But IF Antonio is buying a ring, my guess is it wasn't for her birthday but he's getting his ducks lined up for when her divorce actually goes through. It's been hung up in the courts now for nearly two years - another fallout from Covid. I could tell him that she is VERY particular about jewelry and would probably like to pick out her own, but I'm not going to butt in. And maybe they've already discussed this and he knows what she wants. I'm just the mother! lol!

JANA - how did the jab go? Hope you have no ill effects from it. Michael still waiting on dr's OK to get his?

CAROL - No, I didn't know Aut's ring size, but could make an educated guess. I thought April Love featured Pat Boone. I even looked it up. I haven't seen that movie in probably 50 years. I didn't see a TV series for Cary Grant either. I'm probably misremembering. At home, I often freeze things in a baking dish, then remove it after it's solid. Then I can just pop it back into the pan when I want to heat it. But in a 30' trailer, space and supplies are extremely limited. I also usually put Ziplocks in a bowl to fill them. I just thought I could do it this time. Turns out I was very wrong and got my just desserts.

TINA - Last night was my turn to toss and turn and read. I was awake from 11:30p to 3:45a and finally got up at 4:45. I'll be tired tonite! So - what's new at your house??? Any new quilty projects swirling around in your head???

BECCA - I hope your BP settled down. Wasn't it too low not long ago? I don't carry glass jars in the trailer. No room and too risky. I put things in Ziplocks to fit in the little freezer better. They lay flat.

I texted Irish and got a response. She's fine - just busy.

Yesterday we ended up with that leftover soup for supper. I had put it into the freezer, but since the fridge was being tempermental it didn't freeze. And since it was too cold and windy to grill our burgers we pulled the soup back out for a repeat supper. So today, weather permitting, we'll have those Yankee dip sandwiches with a salad.

What's your plan for tonite?

Mary, you are really going on that quilt. Hope Bill is okay.

Becca, at least it's sunny and cold.

Carol, we are going to have another out door quilt show this year. We made more
money with the outside show, so that's what we will do from now on. It wasn't
to difficult either.

Tina, I bet your house is sparkling clean.

I have guild tonight. I'll be looking for something to sew today. I have many choices.

We'll be going out for a late lunch today. Not sure what I want at this point.

Have a lovely day.

Good afternoon barely,

Still a bit under the weather, from my booster yesterday. Aaron is doing fine.

Michael is cooking today, looks like cereal may be on the menu. He just cleaned the refrigerator of old science experiments. He even scrambled his own eggs this morning, a first!

Mary - sure praying Bill is OK. That quilt is going fast.

Becca - praying too for you.

Lori - outdoor quilt shows are great, especially if it doesn't rain, like in California!

That's about it here,
Hugs,
Jana

I had the wrong movie title. The movie I was thinking of was "An Affair to Remember". It starred Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant. You would think I would remember one of my favorite movies.

We all will be anxious to hear if Autumn gets engaged as soon as Divorce is final. I sure hope Bill's sore throat is from snoring! He wants to go have dental work done too, so he better be okay.

I sewed the binding on the quilt this morning, so now I can start the third quilt for the quilt show. I have started it and last night I marked what I want to do.

Dinner tonight will be chicken, last night we had Fast Hash. Funny thing is we went to get the new bottle of Catsup and couldn't find it last night. DH found it this noon. I had placed it on the very top shelf. I didn't even look that high. I try to keep a backup and we did have enough last night.

Hi everybody! I made it to the table, but late! I have oven preheating now. My DH loves Banquet pot pies.
They aren't my favorite, but... Makes my husband happy and I get the night off from food prep. LOL. Might have popcorn later while watching TV.
Church ladies meeting today. First the 5 of us worked on cards for spring ladies banquet in May. I am not sure what these cards will be used for?? We are ahead of the game, since banquet is in May but what fun! They had plain white note cards and we were decorating them with colored card stock, cut in certain sizes special cut outs, etc. It was fun to co-ordinate colors, and glue on. They had an Elmer's glue tape strip dispenser. I had never used one, but so much cleaner than using glue stick.
After our business meeting, we all went out to lunch together for more social time.
This afternoon, I sewed. Putting small squares together to make 4 patches. Next I will add strips to build the blocks up to a uniform size and decide how I want to arrange them. It will be very scrappy, but I am getting a lot of these scraps used. That's my goal anyway.
Have a nice evening. Hope it is very relaxing.
HUGS, 💕 Vel
