SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 19th
Good morning,
I hope everyone has survived their weather events. Ours will be today but it's nothing compared to the rest of the country. Mostly just a rainy day.
I got my DWR all done and posted a photo. Then we went into Tacoma on a round of errands and had just dropped off my machine for a spa treatment and were on our way to a jewelry store to drop off a bracelet for repair when a scene right out of Live PD erupted right in front of us. Cop cars came screaming from all directions, cops jumped out of cars which were left in the street (in front of us!) and they tackled a guy on the grass next to the roadway. 4 more cops came rushing to help. It took 6 of them to subdue the "perp". All in a day's work for the officers, but we were a little bug-eyed! God bless our Blue! After all the errands, which included a lifetime spent at the phone store only to be told Bill's phone can't be saved, we came home and I cleaned my sewing room. Not Tina clean, just Mary clean - but good enough for who it's for. Ready to mess up again when we get home from camping.
I've texted CHICKIE. She is a little better but still not walking the straight and narrow, health-wise. Gets dizzy, weak, and faint with racing heartbeat if she is too active. Has difficulty writing or typing. Isn't getting much sewing down on her baby quilts. She really appreciates any prayers that come her way.
TINA - you are really getting a handle on those closets of yours! And I hope that farmer gets a handle on his dust.
LORI - glad you've had a few good days of "friend sewing". Kind of nice to get out of our own sewing rooms. I'm starting to pack camping food today and I found a package of orange chicken in the freezer. I will ALWAYS think of you whenever I see orange chicken.
CAROL - what?? You're a Daugherty, too? Welcome to the family! Anyone named Jane in your crowd. A Jane that's still alive! lol. Sometimes, we genealogists get to know relatives from 200 years ago better than the "current" ones! If you find Austin, Day, Hauber (Hober), Brooks, Burgher in your tree, then we're cousins! Some of those folks moved to MN and NE.
JANA - I can imagine you are spitting nails by now over your furniture. It's OK with me if you say farm words. I grew up on a farm! But, if carpeting is still on your table of possibilities, now you have time! Smart to buy aprons and then pretty them up. I've made a lot of aprons and they never turn out very good. But I have used your technique with pj's. I make the pants and then buy solid color tees and accent them with pants fabric.
BECCA - did you and all your family get through the storms OK? I need to text my SIL in Concord to see how they are doing.
MARY ROSE - no, I've never tried puff pastry for sandwiches before, just read about it. But going to give them a try now! Glad you enjoyed those books. You got them read fast! I am really sorry that you seem to be in a holding pattern with your medical team. But I'm happy you can feel the healing coming through in your quilt!
Well, Bill requested pork chops last night but I think that was a bit ambitious for him. He worked quite a while to get through half of it and he put the rest in the fridge. He said he could feel his sutures starting to come loose, so he gave it up. Friends are bringing a pizza over at happy hour today. I hope he can eat that. I plan to make a green salad, too. More to use the veggies up than to eat salad. lol! We haven't seen these friends for over a year so we'll sit in front of the fire, sip some good wine, and catch up.
What's going on your table tonite?

Good morning!
Well I have 98% put away in the spare bedroom but I did put stuff on my cutting table in my sewing room that I need to go through and put it their places. I'm hoping that will happen this afternoon. This morning we're dropping the dogs off at the groomer and then going to Cruces to pick up a little dresser that will fit at the end of my sewing table that I will keep my charm packs and other small things in. I had a 3 drawer rolling thing there but 2 of the drawers are a nightmare to get open and closed again. I'm hoping when we get back Frankie will feel like putting it together while I put that last little bit away and then transfer my charms and then I WILL BE D-O-N-E!
Mary, sorry Bill couldn't finish his pork chop, I hope he didn't get anything loose.... maybe he needs another 48 hours of healing? Wow, your trip turned in to excitement city! Glad the cops got the perp! I love our Blue and yes for sure God Bless Them ❤
Maryrose, I sure hope they get your medical worked out, it's hard to be in limbo like that.
Becca, good you turned around on your walk with all the dark clouds you had, did you get bunches of rain from those clouds?
Jana, oh no, I'd be fit to be tied and saying farm words! Our daughter ordered a new bedroom set 6 months ago, she has the bed and a night stand so far but the night stand is broken, no word yet on the chest and dresser and replacement night stand though. It's just crazy!
Lori, sounds like you had so much fun even if sewing didn't happen.
Well I was hoping to do Mary's menu with pork chops but since we're going out of town I'm probably just going to make something fast and easy. Going out of town always wipes me out, I don't go in any stores but it still stresses me. I'll be glad to get my second vaccine and I'm really hoping they get Frankie started on his ASAP!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 19th
Good morning, I just finished a cup of tea and will be heading to the shower. Today is a follow up appointment with the hematologist. We should be reviewing my six month check up results on blood draw and chest CT. While I am there I will discuss my new bout of anemia that landed me in the hospital the first of the year. Hopefully he will weigh in on where the bleed could be coming from.
I got the borders cut for Alexis' quilt yesterday. Charles stopped and picked up a different printer for me on the way home from work yesterday as well. We got it set up, and I got the x-stitch pattern printed. I chose 5 different pictures to print so I could audition them to see which one I thought would look the best. I settled on three different ones that I changed from 14 count Aida cloth to 18 count. I will compile a list of floss colors that would be used in any of the three and stop to pick it up on the way home from my appointment.
Mary-I love your DWR. Enjoy your birthday trip. Be safe.
Jana-You crack me up. I love your story about Sarah "pruning" her chicken.
Judi-Safe travels for the remainder of your journey.
Supper tonight will be a surprise. I haven't decided what sounds good yet.
Oops, just glanced at the clock. I need to run away for now. Everyone have a blessed day.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, March 19th
Tina, I did get some sewing done, just not as much as I normally do.
Mary, Orange chicken is my easy go to. We didn't have it last night, so maybe tonight. I have to do some grocery shopping today, so maybe not.
Need to do some chores around the house that have been put on hold all week while I had fun. Also, need groceries. Mostly fresh veggies and fruits.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight. We'll see what I pick up today.
Have a lovely day.
