Supper Club - monday, Dec 14
Good morning!
Yesterday turned into a stellar day, despite the wind and the rain. I Quickly got all the laundry done, including sheets and towels. I swept the floor and polished the counters and cleaned the shower. I got in a couple hours sewing (still working on little village houses) before Al & Tina came over to watch Christmas Vacation movie. Then I made pizza for Us all and we played a game of Racko. I even got in my 10,000+ steps! Couldn’t ask for a better day!
Today is groceries and errands for Al & Tina. Our chores are done so I guess I get to sew!
Jana, I hope Sarah is recovering nicely. Nice that you got the track all cleaned. I never realized until five years ago that the conductor is the boss of the train. I think most non-train people Believe it is the engineer. We took a tour trip on the Alaska railroad in 2015. It just happened to be the conductor’s last day on the job after 30 year career. He visited with all the passengers and we learned a lot that day
Lori, sorry your Bernie is acting up. Berninas 300 and above are manufactured in Switzerland and very solid, quality machines. The 200 series, and the Burnettes are made in China. That may have something to do with your machine. So...? Did you get the new Jen Kingwell pattern?
Becca, grilled cheese and tomato soup is one of Bill‘s top three favorite meals. We really should have that more often.
My sister is providing dinner tonight - pork tenderloin, potatoes, and corn. But she asked if we can grill the tenderloin on our outdoor stove. This we can do unless it is windy. Yesterday we had 19 mph winds with gusts up to 45 mph. We had to take down our tall flagpole for fear it would snap off. Can’t grill in the wind. But we do have ovens!
What’s on your menu for tonight?

Hello everyone We have the sun now I love sunny days It’s supposed to be cold now for rest of year
Maryz You had a productive day Nice to have your DS there with you
Jana glad Sarah is doing well Stu sounds like a fine young man Ethan will love his new room
We had a quiet day but phone calls & FaceTime Family always stays in touch and checks on us Denise does quite often
I got my beds dressed & laundry all done
Plan to do bread to freeze after lunch
I still have buttons to sew on & 3 more pair to knit I think I have made 3 or 4 dozen at least WhenI was younger I used to do a lot of knitting & sale it and sewing too. I made up my mind when my DDIL got killed That everything I made from then on would be for my family & I have stuck to that
Today will be homemade beef veggie soup

Good morning!
We have banned soup in the freezer for dinner and I will add cheddar biscuits as well.
Michael is laying the track. There is one complicated section, the crossover and all the switches associated with it. Then it goes quick. I then need to reload the app to run - control- the train. All the kids have it on their phone as well. Then the fun begins.
Sewing , sewing and more sewing!
Well, my time is up, need to run!
Hugs,
Jana

Mary, I didn't know that about the Bernina. The store I bought it from didn't tell me that.
Since I've been using it, it start working properly. Maybe it was just mad because it was sitting on the shelf for so long. lol
Jana, sound like fun times at your house.
I did a little sewing after I walked the dog, vacuumed and did 3 loads of laundry. I'm doing a swap at my guild called "Starry Night." I love the way my block turned out. I just need 5 more and I'll have that done.
They are due in January.
I don't think I will cook tonight. So it will be a free for all. Get what you want.
Have a lovely day.

Tonight will be my Pork Chops and Rice dish.
Jana - Glad to hear Sarah is doing well. I did not know that about Railroad tracks or who was in charge on the train. Interesting! The things you learn!
Maryz - Have you ever looked at the Moda Bake Shop web site? They are doing a sew- along with a different block every day for the month of December. The blocks are from different designers too. I have been collecting them and am thinking about it. It sure looks tempting!https://my.modafabrics.com/categories/moda-bake-shop
Lori - Your parents are lucky to have you live so close.
Becca - I am sure you did a lot more when you were younger! You still do a lot!
As much as I enjoy doing Zoom I have missed spending time on my Sweet 16 quilting, so I decided that I simply need to move my chair and quilt. My computer will still be on Zoom but there will be a blank wall where I usually sit. I can easily roll my chair into the picture so I think it will work! Someone the other day said the Zoom sew-ins gave her day some structure. She lives alone, she has groceries delivered and does have a daughter close by, however she is alone. So if you wonder why I do it that is why.
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Carol
