Supper Club - Thursday, Dec 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Dec 10, 2020 4:25 am

Good morning!

Because Becca wanted to see it and because I am such a show off, I am sharing a picture of my village pattern. I am doing the houses all in Kaffee Fassett fabrics because they are colorful and I love color ( and QIAD had them on sale.). But I think they would be good in almost anything – especially batiks . I have 2 practice houses finished and the roofs of 28 more. And about half of the rest of the pieces cut out. This pattern shows 132 houses. They are 5 x 7. Should keep me busy for a while, don’t you think?

A little more Vicki news. In the last five days there of been two major episodes involving law-enforcement and an APS visit. Somethings we see on our cameras, and some are reported to us by neighbors. I think Covid is affecting how authorities approach this situation.

Carol, i’ve seen zoom meetings, hearings, doctor appointments, and family visits. But you are the first Christmas party I’ve heard of! Glad everybody had a good time.

Chickie, long time, no see! Good to have you here at the table once again. So happy that little Covid escaped the net! A bummer to hear that anyone in your family got sick but so glad your Thanksgiving didn’t turn into a Covid party for everyone. Hate to hear about your hand. I would certainly be on the phone with the medicos demanding someone find your test results and let you know. The squeaky wheel and all that. And having Split, loaded, carted, and stacked wood since I was eight years old, I know how it can make your hands, wrists, elbows, and even shoulders ache. I Don’t think you are doing them any favors in the wood pile. Did you get the last new baby blanket finished yet?

Becca, What a fun day little Wren must have had with you! You do manage to keep busy even with help now. I would think all that knitting would be soothing and help lower your BP.

Tina, how is Dad doing? Are you “teaching” school every day? And I am assuming no date yet for LA assembly or you would be here boinging off the walls.

Jana, Will Sarah be able to get everything finished today? What time is her surgery tomorrow? I will be thinking of her.

Lori, what’s going on in your sewing room now? I have a cutting table and a work table besides my large sewing table and somehow they are all always loaded with everything!

Discussed menu options with Mr. Bill and he is voting for pesto pasta with sliced kielbasa in it. I will add some kind of frozen veggie as we are out of fresh things here. Much like Jana’s tortellini kielbasa one pot dish.

Good morning!

Mary - love the pattern! All those houses! Should keep you busy for a day or two. I miss my house in just a week or so being gone, let alone as you as you go. Let's hope that Vicki gets the help needed, quickly.

Later this afternoon, we will learn the time for Sarah's surgery. The nurse at the office is fairly sure it will be in the early morning. Ethan will spend the night tonight and tomorrow night. Sarah is counting the days until she can eat again and not hurt doing it! A hard way to lose weight, but she has lost about 35 pounds.

Dinner - depends on if I am feeding Termite. I do know I will make Termite's favorite tomorrow, pot roast with mashed potatoes. A little food distraction always helps. In fact, he will put the roast in the crackpot and make dinner.

More sewing for me today.

Stay Safe,
Hugs,
Jana

Mary, I have a similar pattern called "Suburbs" by Cluck Cluck Sew. https://cluckclucksew.com/2013/03/suburbs.html Less houses. A few of my friends have made them seasonal and added decorations in the open spaces. Themes like Christmas, Halloween, and summer winter and fall.

Yes, Becca the boys have been walked and that benefits me as well.

Yesterday was my Mom's 86th birthday. I made a cake and brought it up with gifts for her. I didn't see her, but talked to her on the phone. I only see my dad from afar. He opens the garage door. I put stuff inside and he waits for me to go back to the car before getting it. They haven't left the house since March.

I finished quilting a braid quilt, and a Christmas wall hanging yesterday. I plan to get the binding on the braid quilt today. I finished up the other one yesterday. Maybe I'll grab by scraps and pull fabrics for the "Suburbs."

For dinner we'll have Sheppard's pie. DH bought some frozen meals from Schwan's while I was gone. I'm not a fan, but DH and FIL like them. I'll have cereal. Premade frozen meals have so many additive in them. I like fresh food. Rarely do I even freeze meat.

Have a lovely day.

Sarah's surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning, about 11 am, my time. She is expecting to be home around 6 or 7 tomorrow night.
