Supper club, Sunday, December 6

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 06, 2020 3:50 am

Good morning,

We are supposed to be much warmer today about 66’ and sunny. Maybe we will finally get to sit outside, perhaps play some games at the picnic table or sit around our fake campfire. Autumn won’t be coming today. She said perhaps on Tuesday. Some major work is being done on her little rental house – new roof and now it may need septic work and repairs on the siding

Yesterday I finished my reindeer quilt top. I guess for sewing today I will be using up scraps in my 5 inch crazy quilt blocks. This is an ongoing project to work on in between other projects. Bill and Allan occasionally watch action movies while I sew. I like the noise and the company and even some of the movies. And my sister likes alone time so it works out well.

Last night for supper I made some little corkscrew quinoa pasta. While it drained I sautéed garlic, added a can of diced tomatoes, Mushrooms, and A hefty bit of Italian seasoning. Tossed it with the pasta and topped with Parm. Really tasty!

Tonight, since it’s supposed to be pretty nice, we might grill a little pork tenderloin. And maybe have potatoes and salad. If weather isn’t nice, we’ll figure out something else. Or cook it in the oven inside

What might you be having for your supper?

Mary, didn't that quilt go together fast? I thought it was a really fun one to make. When I make mine, I will applique rather than fuse.

The new grill was wonderful. Steaks came out perfect last night. For tonight I think Tortellini and zucchini. Super simple.

We'll be heading to the park when DH gets home from breakfast. Today is the last day for outdoor dining. They are shutting everything down again here in California. I don't know how people will be able to continue to feed their families and keep a roof over their head. Our food banks are having a hard time keeping up with the demand.

I'll be sewing later.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

Bright sunny and cold. No snow in sight. Could be a brown Christmas, no snow on theground.

I was up late sewing for Sarah. With her surgery this week, she needed to get gifts finished, so it was me helping. So glad I did mine early! It is good to listen to that little voice. Now to reclaim my Batt Cave and finish up my sewing.

Dinner - it's a late brunch, our normal, but I will be playing with my new, to me, air fryer. Sarah is getting a new one that does everything, but clean itself! So her old one is now living at my house. So I will learn to play with it.

Mary - another top in the books. I have a village type quilt pattern, the houses are around the outside and I keep seeing it, so may get it out and think about it.

Lori - a new grill - Weber's are very nice and you are having great weather too. How's the fire?

Stay Safe
Hugs,
Jana

OK - back - remembering the old days when my mom bought and put up one of those aluminum Christmas tree, complete with the required color wheel. She had all turquoise glass ornaments on it. This was in 1962 - 1964. It only lasted those two years until my brother Tommy came home from his mission. Tommy worked as a teenager in a Christmas tree lot, selling trees and he always got to pick a tree for us, for free. No way did he let his mom have the aluminum tree when he was around.

Any of you have those trees from your youth? It was fun showing Ethan the old days!
