Supper club - Wed, Nov 11

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Nov 11, 2020 6:01 am

Good morning from Corning California. And happy Veterans Day. I am sending messages to all the veterans in my family, which includes my sister and sister-in-law. I so appreciate what veterans have done, have risked, have sacrificed for our country. 🇺🇸

The traveling gods have been smiling on us. Good weather, good roads, light traffic. Even the cat hasn’t been fighting to get out at every stop!

Carol, your new little kitty is adorable! I am so glad you found each other! She looks like a sweet companion for many years to come

Tina, I would go ahead and set up most of your sewing room. They do not need the entire room to assemble the frame. And stick to guns for Thanksgiving! I don’t understand your brother refusing to wear a mask. I would think his employer would demand it.

Jana, I have seen some sweet little girl Christmas dresses at Costco. You certainly deserve one, too! Will all your family be coming to your house for TG? Or will you be limiting the number? How many are in your family? My family is 10, but going to 9 soon.

Becca, are you cooking dinner or will everybody be bringing something? What’s on the menu?

Lori - are you home yet or still in Utah?

I don’t have a plan yet for supper tonight. It may be pasta of some sort. We cooked fajitas outside last night and they were so good. I discovered a teaspoon of sesame oil when sautéing veggies adds a whole new layer of flavor that we really like.

Whats your plan?

Mary, still in Utah. DS got home yesterday afternoon.
Glad your travels are going well.

Carol, Cheri is a beautiful girl. Cats make life so much better.

It's snowing pretty good this morning. Everything is covered in white. Looks pretty, but I'm definitely not going to get my walk in today.

For dinner we are going to Salt Lake City and meeting up with DGD.Tomorrow I head back to California.

Have a lovely day.

Good morning!

It is snowing here too at my house. Need to see which way the storm is coming. If it is from the north, we may get some lake effect snow. Big flakes, they are fun to watch fall.

Mary - I know where Corning is! Which pass are you using to go East? Techapi, Cajon ? Be safe!

Lori - yup it's snowing! I haven't paid attention to the weather forecast this week, but thought it was suppose to be clear. Where in SLC are you eating? Lots of great places. We love Brio, at City Creek.

I started a Kimberbell pattern, Ginger's Kitchen, a bench pillow for my white garden bench. I am between sewing my dolls for gifts. Waiting for lace trims to arrive, so saw this pattern in my stash, SQUIRREL! It got me. So my basket of Christmas fabric scraps is out and being used. This will be very scrappy, as I am just looking at the pattern for suggested colors and using what I have. It goes in the series of We Whisk You a Merry Christmas pattern that Mary made this year. So the squirrel also led me to Amazon for a couple more of their bench pillow patterns. I already had two others, but got three more. These will use my embroidery part of my sewing machine for the appliques. While at Amazon, I ordered the pillow form as well.

Dinner - since I want to sew, a soup I have stashed in the freezer. May add a cheesy biscuit I saw on Cook's Country the other day. It is a buttermilk biscuit, that is wrapped around a ball of grated cheddar cheese, that melts and is all gooey inside.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Since the snow is falling, it's cold outside and my good long wool dress coat is at least 4 sizes too big, I just ordered me a new one! My favorite old too big coat is my favorite color red, and so is the new coat! Plus, it was on sale for 50% more off than the already sale price, a great deal for me! So when my new arrives, I will donate my old one and hopefully someone can get more use from it. It is in great condition. So that is my new outfit for Christmas.

Becca - these dolls are the same as I did last year. Just a rag doll with braids. I first made this doll pattern for Sarah when she was 5, about 38 years ago! Dresses, nightgown, shirts, and overalls. There is a little boy version, but I do the girl for my little girls.
