SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Nov 3rd, ELECTION DAY!

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Nov 03, 2020 4:48 am

Good morning!

Well, it's finally here! One good thing about this election - it's getting people out to vote!

Yesterday was chiropractor, a few errands, a few uglies, some quilt delivering, some fabric cutting, and then relaxing with friends for a few hours. We presented quilts to two ladies in Bill's exercise class who were recently diagnosed with cancer and five quilts went to a nursing home to give as Christmas gifts to residents. Got a big stack out of the house and to people who can use them. Then I had a few hours to start cutting my Fox in the Pines quilt before we went to our friends. Today, more uglies, more cutting, and watching election returns.

TINA - thank you for posting pictures! So glad you went with the green. It's such a cool, relaxing color. I bet now you can't wait for your Baby to arrive! We haven't been watching games either this season, but we happened to come inside from outdoor chores, sat down, turned on the TV, and they were the Seahawks, just starting the second half. But I'm done wearing my shirt and earrings! We've only seen one other game this season and that, too, was a fluke that we happened to turn on the TV halfway through the game.

JANA - did you get Minnie quilted yesterday? We're with you on the games. You wouldn't have liked this last one anyway. :D But when they were on right in front of our eyes, we couldn't look away. Way to teach Ethan! I remember in the Cheaper By the Dozen book, the dad taught his kids all kinds of things in interesting ways. Morse code messages leading them on a scavenger hunt and the first one to translate all the clues found the chocolate bar. Solar system painted all over the bathroom walls. Etc. He made a game out of learning.

LORI - How long will you be in Utah? Sounds like you are settling in. Hope the weather holds nice. What does your son do that he travels so much? He's so lucky to have you for his mom, and his furbabies to have you for their gramma! I can't wait to start on my reindeer, but I can only carry so much in the trailer, so it's going to have to wait until we get home again.

BECCA - glad you got your shots and other errands finally done. How is the Nativity coming along?

We have no leftovers in the fridge! So it's new food tonite. I think I'm going to bake chicken breasts in a Dijon sauce. Maybe baked sweet potatoes and a salad. Not sure I have enough greens for a salad. But I have brussels sprouts still. If you buy them at Costco, they last a long time!!

What's on your list of possibilities for supper?

Good morning!
I keep getting up super early ugh! I vacuumed the house last night to really be extra tired, hoping I would sleep late..... that didn't work LOL but it left me with less to do this morning!
I'm glad people are voting, I personally think it's an honor to be able to vote, so I proudly vote every time and thank all that made that possible for me to have the freedom and right to do it! 🇺🇸
I know I'll be glad to not have the political commercials!
Mary, how sweet to pass out quilts, I know they will be so appreciated and loved ❤
I'm so glad I went with the green too, I really love it and just like sitting in there for now. I'm really anxious to get my Baby now! And get my room put back together!
Lori, that is so awesome that you take your sewing with you! What kind of dogs does your son have?
I haven't decided supper yet, it's Dad's night and so far I've tried fixing it extra early so he gets home before dark.
Here's the pics again so they're easier to find.

Mary, my son works for Lockheed Martain on the F16. He designs upgrades for the ejection seat. It's pretty involved.
It's the same plane he worked on when he was in the air force. My package arrived yesterday and so I can work on my reindeer quilt today. I need to go grab some batting from my quilt shop and get quilting on it.

Tina, your room looks great. My son's dogs are a German shepherd, a German shepherd blue healer mix, and a boxer hound mix. I keep a machine here so I just have to bring projects to work on. Or I can go to the go to one of the local quilt shops and buy new stuff.

I ended up having Cheerios for dinner last night, so tonight will be the chicken, salad, and maybe a potato or veggies we'll see.

Have a lovely day.

Mary - Sounds like a rewardingly productive, and enjoyable day yesterday.

Tina- I have a green sewing room too and love it.

Tonight’s dinner will be Autumn Soup with a side of macaroni and cheese.

We have been looking for a new cat. I found one yesterday and we filled out the application. We will wait for a phone call so we can make an appointment. It sure is different these days. On the site it says if there are several people interested there will be a lottery.

Good morning!

Not much here - just same old busy-ness! I will be glad to be finished with this door job and get back to my old boring routine.

Dinner tonight is Nachos. I am getting the right cheese to make queso to put on the nachos. Nachos is a Ethan favorite.

Working on my lesson for Sunday. So quilting is on hold for a short time. Sarah has a Kohls order to pick up and we have some groceries. I am getting the things we need for Christmas dinner, just to make sure I have what is needed. Our Costco had a run on paper towels and TP, so they are out. I have plenty. So it doesn't take much to scare the horses around here.

Mary - those quilts will be very loved!

Tina - the room is ready! Great choice of colors! Odd, you referred to your LA as he - I always thought of LA'S as her.

Lori - welcome to the warm before the storm! It is nice weather for most of the week. Might need a puffy coat by the end of the week.

Carole - hope you win the lottery! I have often thought to go get another little fur all, but I have Sarah's Smudge to cuddle. He is a extremely loveable and wants to be petted all the time.

Well, better get going,
Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon! It is Election Day, but we voted early and delivered our ballots to the County Clerk. However, that did not mean that one of us had to go to the Community Center for polling issues. I received a call just as I was stepping into the shower—good thing it wasn’t a video call!!! The poll workers couldn’t find the ballot box. I got DH to get dressed and go find it. He came back pretty soon—mission accomplished, successfully!

Covid didn’t come for supper last night or breakfast this morning, so after we had coffee I walked out to see if I could find him. He was all the way to the west end of the pasture, and when he saw me he came running! I wasn’t going to feed him, just check on him, but he followed me home—butting my behind and sucking on my fingers. As soon as he ate, he was back out with his friends.

After a breakfast of pancakes, I helped DH load three ricks of wood on a customer’s trailer. DH is off cutting more wood—it’s his exercise of choice. I just returned from walking Ava and Choc. DGDIL returns to work tomorrow after her maternity leave , so I will be again walking Ava every day while they are working. After visiting with you here, I’ll be in my sewing room!

Tina—your sewing room is lovely! I like the trim color and your wood floors. I’m with you—love my big windows and all the bright light I can get. Enjoy!!! Can’t wait to see pics of your new baby when she arrives!

Mary—how sweet of you to make all your quilt donations!!! We were talking to someone this weekend about a shirttail relative that started quilting and has never given anything away. She has no immediate relatives, and the house is like a hoarder’s with quilts in and out of totes packed floor to ceiling and a path between rooms. How sad!

Lori—love that you are able to take your sewing with you! When mom house sat for my sister, she always had projects to make and a machine set up. I vote for “buy new stuff!”

Carol—so glad you found a new fur baby! It is different now. Seems like there are lots of unwanted animals, but it’s hard to find them. Since we live in the country, there are no shortages of “dropped off for farmers” dogs. I’ve also had cats come in that way, too.

Jana—I love nachos! DH doesn’t really think of it as a meal… darn it! I heard there was going to be new hoarding of supplies. The local Wal-Mart has more bare shelves than full… of a lot of staples.

Becca—I’m not sure the “remember me” box means anything. Congratulations on finishing your nativity! DH will eat soup as long as he can drain off all the broth. That’s my favorite part most of the time, so we make a good pair!

Dinner tonight will have to be some kind of leftovers with a creative touch. I’m picking up my new glasses in town tomorrow and will hit the grocery store later.

Bon appétit!
