SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 24th
Good morning!
This will be quick. I have massage appt at 0700 and then chiropractor (both of us) at 0900. From there we go into Tacoma to County City Bldg to start process of renewing our anti-harassment order against Vicki. For the most part, she has adhered to it so Bill wants to renew it. I personally don't think we need it anymore, but we'll see. We have a small window of time to do this and our trip to Yellowstone is during that time, so we may not get it anyway.
Yesterday I finished quilting Tea party. Then we went to Home Depot and bought a couple of new shrubs that Bill planted. And I finished up my end of summer yard work! Yay! All before noon! Then to the grocery store, a little kitchen work, and relaxed the rest of the day. Purrfect weekend! If I get extra time today, I'll put binding on T.P. and start getting backings ready for the last of my quilt tops
LORI - -not sure where Tea Patty will go. I have a stack of about 40 quilts on shelves in my quilting room. I may donate it to the nursing home for Christmas gifts to residents who have no family. That's where most of my latest projects are going. I really like it and would like to keep it, but as it is, I have 18 quilts/tablerunners/wallhangings of various sizes displayed just in my living room and hallway and stairway.
VELDA - hi! I always use Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. It's the best! The recipe for chix parm in the crockpot is in the latest issue of TOH magazine. I will share here when I have more time but basically, it's just like any other chicken parm, only done in the crockpot instead of the oven. You put the cheese on at the end and give it another half hour. Our friend, Danny, grew up in our neighborhood which is why our families have been friends for over 100 years. But some years back he moved to Yakima, which is in central WA, east of the mountains - 130 miles from us. No service due to pandemic. Thanks for asking.
JANA - come on Minnie!! That would mean your pot holder marathon is complete! We've been checking the weather in Yellowstone. Days will be find with a light jacket sometimes. But nights will be calling for flannel sheets for sure! They close the campgrounds for the winter the day we leave - Sept 13th. Brrrr!!
Supper last night took a sudden left turn. Friends asked us to come for happy hour, but we were just going to call them and ask them here for campfire. It was our 'turn'. So they did. I made BBQ meatballs (with Sweet Baby Ray's and Costco frozen meatballs), deviled eggs, fruit kabob's, and cookies. We had a nice visit and they noticed all the hard yard work I've been doing! Yay!
So tonite, chix parm in the crockpot - so I'll have that recipe out and handy to recopy here tomorrow.
Gotta Run!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 24th
Good morning! I'm still around LOL
Between trying to deep clean around here and seeing if anything else needs to be given away, grandkids and kids and Dad and dogs and dog baths and dog meds twice a day and yardwork and regular house chores and sewing in little time increments and cooking and cleaning my days have been zooming by!
Last night I made philly steak and cheese sliders, they were soooooo yummy! Friday night I made pulled pork in the crock pot and combined 2 recipes.... used the rub from 1 recipe and then liked the idea of a Dr Pepper poured in from another, it turned out sooooo yummy and I made potato salad and coleslaw to go with and we ate that for 3 meals and froze three rest LOL
Mary, I think it's a good idea to keep that order in affect concerning Vicki, maybe that's what's keeping her away.
We have the haze from the California fires here, sadness.
My day will be more if the same old stuff LOL
Supper tonight will be leftover sliders.
Tina

Good morning!
Home from the DDS - 3 small cavities filled, so Michael is good now. While I waited, I took just the right amount of hand work and finished the same time he was done.
Dinner - chicken parm sounds wonderful - I will cheat mine with some chicken patties from Costco. I will do scratch marinara . Maybe some homemade pasta as well. I have had a hankering for some fresh made pasta. Not hard to make. Now if I can do a small batch! LOL! Maybe a cheddar biscuit too.
Sarah and I are making a run down to Lehi Roller Mills. It is not far and they mill flour and make the best mixes. I love their Lion House Rolls, brownies, raspberry and blueberry muffin mixes. Lion House rolls are a yeast dinner roll and a staple recipe here in Utah. I am going to try their Belgian waffle mix. We can buy their products at local stores, but at the factory they are a bit cheaper. I bake the brownie mix in my mini muffin pan, so they are just a nice bite size. I also have a brownie mix thief, with permission, who swipes my stash of brownie mix in the pantry. Kate is a brownie-aholic!
Heading to the Batt Cave in a few minutes, need to get my laundry started.
Mary - good luck getting R/O re-upped. Maybe it could be made permanent and then you won't need to remember each year. I counted in my head and I can remember about 14 tops that need to be quilted. That is my pile, Sarah has about 5 down there too.
Time to feed me breakfast, Michael can't eat yet - waiting for his mouth to become un-numb.
Stay Safe,
Hugs,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 24th
Thanks for sharing the recipe. Sounds really good! Have to try it soon. I am trying to use crockpot more.. My little pot is really small. I did the boneless ribs yesterday. Could have fit 2 lbs of meat in it. I had slightly more than a pound. Couple of pieces each. We had just enough left overs for Tuesday night as long as I add a nice salad with it.
Tonight is "treat night". We like to take advantage of Monday night special and order Pizza for pick up at drive up window. $14 for a 16 inch pizza with up to 4 toppings. We only like cheese and sausage, so it's not as great a deal unless you get more toppings. But we still get $4.25 off regular price. Especially since we don't go to restaurants yet, it makes a great Treat Night. We always have enough left over for two more lunches as well
Thanks again, Mary, for sharing your recipe.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 24th
I e-mailed Becca this morning and her hubby, CA, answered me. Here is his answer:
"Frances (her real name) has been in the hospital for a week. She has been really sick. Blood pressure went up to 250 and her sodium and potassium level were dangerously low. Thanks for asking. C.A."
So, sounds like we all need to get down on our prayer-bones and send some healing requests heavenward for our good friend, Becca.

If anyone wishes to send her a card, I have her address. Just PM, e-mail, or text me.
