SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, June 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Jun 04, 2020 5:28 am

Good morning,

I woke up earlier than usual this morning - 3:45. Wide awake. After laying there a bit I decided to get up and have coffee with you all.

We got everything done yesterday that we needed to do. We're ready to roll. Our furniture came and I like it! Good thing - I couldn't remember what we'd ordered! lol! The guys reluctantly carried our old couch and giant recliner through the door into the garage, but we made it worth the 5 minutes of their time. $$ :D

Today's activity will be riding. It's about 160 miles to Leavenworth, nestled in the eastern Cascades. Decades ago it was a logging town, but as the logging industry waned it turned itself into a Bavarian themed village. Cute shops, (a dynamite quilt shop!), restaurants, parks, festivals, and flowers everywhere. All the buildings are fronted with a Bavarian look. We're going to be in the Icicle RV Resort for 4 nights. We've never stayed there before but our friends, Doyle & Susie, love it. They are there for 3 weeks right now and talked us into joining them. With the Cascade Mtns as a backdrop and the beautiful Wenatchee River, it truly does look like you're in the Alps.

IRISH - I LOVE plants, too, and it's all I can do to resist filling my cart when I go flower shopping. But then I think of planting, weeding, slugs, squirrels & deer eating the plants, and more weeding. I get over it - usually. But when we get home from this trip, we might go pick up a few more shrubs or perennials. We have several good wineries even on this side of the mountain, though they get their fruit from the east side. Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest, Leonetti, and more I can't think of at the moment, but 95% of the wineries are in SE and Central WA. Bill and I worked for Forgeron Winery in Walla Walla during their crush seasons of '05 and '06. Walla Walla is 620 miles from Reno. Yakima is another 100 miles, give or take. We have a booklet with most of the wineries if Kathy & Tim would like to have it. We get new ones every year. I hope your tummy settles down. Though I rather like poached eggs for supper . . .

JANA - today's Michael's date! You are prepared! And he is, too! Pray all goes well. What are you taking to work on? Bill's sister had surgery in April and her hubby sat in the parking lot for 7 hours. I hope all is quiet in SLC for your and for Aaron's sake. Seattle has been crazy with 6 nights of protests and rioting. I didn't even turn on the news last night. When is your trip to ID or are you still hatching it out? I love red flowers, too. And blue ones. And yellow. Even white is nice! So cool that Sarah is getting free landscaping! Because it ain't cheap! She deserves it. I know she works her tushy off for her employer and they are lucky to have her.

BECCA - I hope today is a home day for you. You've done your share of running this week. And weed-eating. I declare it BECCA DAY. You get to do whatever you want - relax all you want, read all you want, and no chores! 8-)

Well, we ordered sandwiches on-line from Subway last night. We chose their standard Turkey & Black Forest Ham and then went down the list selecting the cheeses, veggies, & condiments we wanted. They forgot the ham! And a couple other things. But they added tomatoes and onions, which we did NOT want. Bill e-mailed a nice letter to Subway and the district manager responded almost immediately with an apology and a coupon for another sandwich. I suspect the store got a message from him, too. They had a special - buy one foot-long sandwich and get a second one for free. So we got a free one, even though it was identical to the messed up one. They still tasted fine but weren't even close to what we ordered. We're saving the second one for lunch today and hoping it won't be too soggy.

As for supper tonite - I think we're going to grill pork chops in our campsite, have a salad, and maybe a potato/onion/cheese packet on the grill.

I think I'll be around most of the time, by phone if not by computer. But we may not have cell coverage for part of our trip. If possible I'll be here just to say howdy if nothing else! We should be home about June 23. 😘

Have a safe trip Mary.

I'm not sure yet, but I think supper today will be a chicken and noodle casserole. The chicken is already cooked (cooked, deboned, and froze back at the beginning of May). I just need to get the noodles made unless Charles changes his mind or wants to use store bought dried noodles.

I'm still having some pulling in my back and hips, but it's better than yesterday. I'll do extra stretching today to help loosen up the muscles and tendons. I'll also take some more medicine for the inflammation.

Good morning from a semi sunny but warm, SW. Pa.....

Oh Mary, by now, I have a feeling you are on your way and taking lots of prays for a safe, very relaxing trip....I will be sure to tell Kathy about the places you've suggested and I'm sure she'd love to know all about your adventures and any information you'd like to share....She did text me last night and they were leaving early this morning and heading for the Grand Canyon and then home but she wasn't sure just which way they were going or when they'd get there, lol....What a great way to travel and she so deserves it......Her meeting Tim was certainly heaven sent.....

Becca, there you go again....But this is BECCA Day, you're to relax....But, I know, easier said than done, right.........

Jana, thinking of Michael and you today....Nothing but prayers and good thoughts......

Today I'm going to play......My sister is picking me up and we're going to play bingo...She was so excited when she called to tell me it was starting again....Going to be interesting but I'm sure it will be fine...We never have very many people so it won't be a problem with "social distancing"....Not sure what she has planned for after...We normally would go out to dinner so maybe we'll pick up something and come back here......

Well, best hit the shower and find something presentable to wear....This will be different, haven't worn decent clothes or makeup for weeks.....

You all have a great day....

Happy eating.................

Good morning!

We made it here, in spite of Michael backseat driving ! I have to admit, I missed a turn, due to construction. Fred and Ethel Mertz or Frick and Frack have nothing on us! Sarah called during this trip up and was laughing hysterically, listening in. In August we will have had this act going for 45 years! That is if I let him live that much longer!

Dinner - I am thinking of all the things I love, he hates, as his dinner will be 3 minute eggs over buttered toast, for the next couple of days. I do have a treat for me, a chocolate eclair, it it makes it until afters. I have lost a couple more pounds and my next goal weight is getting closer. If I ever get there, you will all here my cheer!

So here I wait for another 2 or 3 hours. At least I am in the shade and have some things to do.

Stay Safe!
Hugs,
Jana

Home from the hospital. All not the way we hoped. Need a follow up appointment in 2 weeks. Found another large growth and removed it. We will get the results at that appointment.
