SUPPER CLUB - Monday, March 16

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Mar 16, 2020 8:16 am

Good morning!

We are home, trailer emptied, laundry done. Will clean and restock today. Now we'll be home for several weeks. Still have cabin fever but at least it's a bigger cabin!

I picked up my Bernie from spa week, learned to always thread it with the presser foot up, and now both my machines are freshly cleaned, repaired, and oiled. I have plenty of fabric, so I should be set for the duration. One good thing, this virus doesn't thrive in a warm environment (which is why our bodies develop fevers - to provide an inhospitable environment to viruses and organisms). So as warmer temperatures arrive with spring, I'm hoping it will simply go away. Our governor has ordered all restaurants, bars, and places of entertainment and recreation to be closed effective today. Take out food is still available. I hate to think what this is going to do to local economies!

JANA - that story of Aaron's is one for his book that I hope he will write one day! Thanks! we needed that!

IRISH - sounds like you are more than half-moved! When is your target date to officially be in your new house - or, when does your Kitty Baby move? I go back and forth cooking with gas (trailer) and electric (stove).

LORI - isn't Eleanor's show fun? We've seen several of her shows here and there. Always a different one. She's a kick and Orion is fun, too. Even Bill still talks about it. (yes, he goes to the big sewing expos with me sometimes.).

BECCA - sounds like your family gathering was fun - and wise to stay at home for it! And probably more fun and relaxed.

So it sounds like we're all pretty much agreed - CHICKIE IS A BAD INFLUENCE! I supposed in some circles she would be known as a 'leader'. haha! Well, except for Lenten Fridays (I am Catholic, after all!), the ban is back in place! Let's all be observant!

Tonite's supper is going to be a good old fashioned pot roast here with potatoes and carrots and onions. And I suspect hash will be on tomorrow's menu. :D What's on YOUR menu for tonite?

Good morning!

Dinner is on the counter thawing. Broccoli cheese soup. That makes dinner easy tonight!

Mary - you are so quick! The energizer bunny can't keep up with you!

I don't have much I have to do. So I will get them done and then go play in the Batt Cave. Sarah's dirt arrived on Saturday and the rest of her lumber will arrive sometime today. She has already built three of the eight boxes and they are filled with dirt. With all the grands home from school, Crenda may bring out their crew and help shovel dirt. Part of a school day is PE. We can't overlook that part! LOL!

Hugs,
Jana

Good afternoon from a semi warm, semi overcast, SW. Pa....Just not sure what the weather has in mind for the rest of the day, (never sure here in Pa.)....

Mary, I like hearing about the virus maybe not liking warm temps...And with Spring just around the corner, warm temps are coming.....The official moving day is to be on Sat. and Kathy and Terry have decided to hire "muscle men" to help with the heavy stuff...I kept thinking, too bad it's not the middle of summer and the "muscle men" might show up in shorts and muscle shirts....I still remember Joanne in Ohio watching for her garbage man during the summer...Think about her often (every Wed. watching Survivor)....Kathy just told me, Tim is worried, she might get here and not be able to get back home, lol..I keep teasing him, she has her room picked out....And as far as Baby Girl, it's going to be quite interesting...To top it off, she has an appointment at the "beauty shop" tomorrow for a full make over...It might take days for her to recover from that and then come Sat. back in the carrier...I did dream last night we were in the new house and I had forgotten her litter box!

And I think I do like the title, "Leader" for our Chickie....She can lead us down any path she wants to, any time.....

Jana, I'm thinking, maybe I should have Terry make me a little raised garden, since I won't have much space at the new house...Right now, there is nothing planted, no shrubs or trees and I'm so anxious to get out and play in the dirt....

Becca, I think you also are giving the pink Bunny a run for it's money...You are constantly on the go....Hope that bug stays far away from your doorstep......

I did run out this morning, needed to pick up a few things, (didn't need potty paper)....But, I found, people were very pleasant, one even asked if I needed help taking my stuff to the car...If nothing else, maybe more will start to be more courteous, more tolerable...So, maybe this "bad" thing will turn into something good.....

For my dinner, I'm thinking poached egg and toast or maybe a scrambler....Tomorrow, I might actually cook...I always make Shepard's Pie and finally might get those apple squares made....

You all have a great rest of the day....Stay safe

Happy eating............

Oh my word! Another good laugh from Aaron. I was on the phone with him, when a debris call in the fast lane of the freeway - several cases of toilet paper! Troopers and Aaron are being sent Code 3, lights and sirens to the scene. This is to protect the idiots, trying to play frogger to get the toilet paper! My word! 9h the book that boy could write!

Mary, Eleanor just gave a trunk show and then had lunch with us. She did a few of her funny skits too. She is a hoot.

Jana, that is a funny, not so funny, story about the TP on the Highway.

Irish, you sound so excited for the new change in your life. I'm so very happy for you.

I haven't even thought about dinner. I have lots of different choices though. Maybe soup and corn bread.
It's cold and rainy today, so that sounds good.

Have a lovely evening.
