Yesterday we had a mostly dry day and 50*. What a gift! Even a few patches of blue sky! We went for a long walk on our paved walking trail and it felt good to feel the sun on our backs. And I saw some shrubs starting to bud! But later in the day we had a downpour that was so heavy and loud we went out on our covered deck to watch it and Scottie barked at the rain! lol! And soon it stopped, so apparently barking works!
I got a few more CCC blocks done. I have 6-1/2 to go. And yes, with this quilt, I count half a block a reportable accomplishment!

I have chiropractor this morning and we're meeting Gus & Claudia for Happy Hour at 3:30 and there are a few dust bunnies here needing some attention, so my time at the sewing machine will be limited today.
BECCA - I love pork loin and I'll take mashed or scalloped potatoes any day of the week! Love potatoes in any form but those are my two favorites. Along with hashbrowns, fries, au gratin, and baked and homefries and rawfries, and creamed and . . . . . So sorry your little one had shingles. My three kids all had them when in their young 20's. Lara's was a bad case on her trunk. She was 21 and newly married. Mike and Autumn both had them on their arms, much lighter cases, but still painful. Bill and I got the shots - both shots, in fact - so hope we're covered. They are expensive, but when you compare that cost to the cost of antiviral meds, plus the pain and suffering, it's worth it.
LORI - I never heard of Appliquick applique until you mentioned it. I've done needle turn by hand, blanket stitch by hand, and the rest with fusible and machine satin or blanket stitch.
BECCA - I saw your DGS, Chriss, had another allergic reaction but they don't know to what. I remember when this happened before. I assume he carries an epi-pen? (another needlessly expensive drug!) I pray they figure out soon what triggers these episodes.
OK, Soup Report. It was kind of fun to make, simple, and no unusual ingredients (except for the pickles! lol! They are kind of unusual for soup.) And it smelled good while cooking in the crockpot. It turned out pretty thin so I tried to thicken it a bit with cornstarch and water. And Bill did eat a whole bowl of it. You've got to love dill pickles, which we do. But it's a LOT of pickle taste when it's your whole meal. I'm glad I finally tried it, but I won't make it again. I did ask Bill which would he prefer - the pickle or the carrot soup. He immediately chose carrot.

Tonite we're going out for Mexican. Again. Different friends from last Friday, different restaurant. Would like something other than Mexican but they are the ones with the good happy hour menus and we have 5 Mexican restaurants here in Gig Harbor. And both times, we've been the 'invitees' so we go to where we're invited. So taco salad it will be. For me, anyway.
What's it going to be for you?
