SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 11, 2020 6:31 am

Good morning!

Going to be a full day today - working on swap blocks plus we'll probably watch the play-off football games. The Seahawks game isn't until late tomorrow, but we enjoy the other games, too, always rooting for the underdog. I also hope we can get in a long walk if the rain holds off. I don't mind walking in light rain but soaking downpours keep me inside with my fabric!

JANA - glad the judge is standing firm! I hope that trial is soon. If the guy is out on bail, no telling what he will do in the meantime. A new doughnut shop! I'd be having a love/hate relationship with that place!

CHICKIE - did you get the binding finished on D's quilt? And a good start on the baby quilt? A relief that if we come to supper at your house we won't need to brown bag it!

LORI - haha! I think now we ALL want a doughnut. Or two. Thank goodness there are no shops close to us! And yeah, you don't want to tick off a judge. When we went to court to apply for our protective order against Vicki, the young lady whose case was called just before us got into an argument with the judge! Got the judge all warmed up for us! And then when we went for the final hearing two weeks later, guess who again went just before us! And argued with that judge, too! Her case was tossed out. She was mad. Judge was mad. And then our case was called . . .good thing my hubby can pull out his charm when he needs to! :D

BECCA - I've never taken any regular medications, but one summer I needed 3 short-term Rx's and the pharmacy messed up every single one of them! There was a question on one of them and the doctor needed to be called. The pharmacist slammed the phone down in front of me to make the call. I eyeballed him and said I thought that was HIS job. Then he got mad. I've never gone back to that store and it wasn't long before that chain was involved in a big lawsuit for messing up prescriptions.

IRISH - that house sounds purrfect for you. Now if you can just get your realtor, your head, and your heart to all agree, you'll be set. Have you talked to your kids? Our police seemed eager to have quilts for their cars so that's where all my UFO's went. We also have the sheriff's department I can sew for. I have a few more tops ready but the holidays stopped the quilting process as the quilt room got filled with Christmas totes, gifts, boxes, wrappings, etc. Will get back to it soon. Bill needs something to do in this cold, wet weather. ;) Your little grand-eagle sounds awesome!

FLO - welcome to supper club! We've had a lot of rain here, too. Some places are flooded.

TINA - that is so sad about your friend losing her beautiful daughter. Her mom wrote such a loving tribute. I will say a prayer for that family.

I think I'll make a pizza for supper tonite. It's always a crowd pleaser here, and so quick and easy to do.

What will be pleasing YOUR crowd tonite? and know that I consider a cat and/or dog an important part of our crowds! :D

Good morning!

Cold, cloudy and snow shortly. Did see a small patch of blue sky. Reassuring that there is still blue sky out there!

Mary - Autumn and Sarah are the same age too. Sarah's 43rd BD is in February. Today is Stu's BD and he is 23. That doughnut shop will be the same love/hate relationship here too. But, boy those doughnuts are tasty! I told Aaron about the shop and in turn, he is telling the troopers, I should get royalties from the shop!

Niner's play this afternoon. Aaron and I were having a very interesting discussion via all the stats about who should win today. It will be a great game.

I gave Aaron a couple of quilts to carry in his truck, just in case. So far, no need, but I will keep him supplied.

Dinner - chili didn't get made, but will today.

Not much going on here,
Enjoy!
Jana

Good morning ladies.
We are wet and icy here this morning, and they say that the snow is starting soon.
I think, that I will find something to put in the crockpot today. Was leaning toward soup, but the kids that are left here today, well, I may just put some chili on, and then if they don't want that, they can make a frozen pizza! I am not making a big meal today. There is always grilled cheese too....
Hope you all have a great day. Stay warm! Becky

Rest assured there is blue sunny skies, we have them in Southern California today. Mary will be sending rain soon, but today is beautiful.

I took a break from quilting that big quilt. I will get back to it this morning.

We got a new electric blanket for Christmas and it wasn't long enough to tuck under the mattress properly. I was having to re-make the bed every day because the blankets were all un-tucked. The new electric blanket is plush fabric that is very slippery, so I cut an eight inch strip from the top of the old blanket (not slippery fabric) and sewed it onto the new blanket yesterday. It worked! It stayed tucked in last night.

Tonight for dinner I think I will stop and get some chicken. I will marinate it and grill it. It sounds very good. Although we have leftovers in refrigerator so maybe we will eat those instead and the chicken will wait until tomorrow.

DH is working on storing Christmas Bins at the back of garage. He now has a plan. Hopefully, they will get out of the dining room this weekend.

Snooooooowy Saturday! We missed the major storm last night with the tornadoes. We woke up to ice on everything, including my truck! I had cancelled coffee with my friend in anticipation of slick roads. And, slick they are—one of the state gravel/salt trucks overturned on the highway after losing control on the ice. It’s definitely not a day to be outside!

I will be inside my sewing room working on the baby quilt. I made 3 blocks yesterday and have the rest cut out. Since my sewing room window overlooks the back porch, I can keep an eye on the birdseed situation and go out and feed my feathered pals. I’ve been out twice already!

Yes, the SIL quilt is completely finished. I want to finish the baby quilt and accessories, then I’ll probably deliver the quilt to SIL and take my machine in for a spa time.

Tina—so sorry to hear of your friend’s loss. Headaches are so scary! My DD had a CT scan yesterday for hers. It was clear.

Irish—love the sound of that house for you!!! Hope it’s meant to be and will fall into your hands.

Jana—happy birthday to Stu! I can’t believe he got that old so quickly!!! Did he pad his age a few years? Go Niners!!!

Becky—sending you snow! You’re welcome!!! Ha, ha!

Q7 Carol—I’d book a flight, but no way could I get to any airport from here! I’m stuck. I like your solution to your electric blanket problem.

We cancelled our dinner out last evening at last minute because of the weather. So, I punted. Sorry, Mary—catfood again. It was easy to thaw. Dinner tonight—DH will have the leftovers, and I think I’ll make some soup. It sounds like a warm hug on a snowy night.

Bon appétit!

Good afternoon to a semi sunny, spring like, SW. Pa....It almost felt like a day to hang out the sheets if I wouldn't have had to walk through the soggy yard to get to the line....But, it's great and I'm afraid, won't last too long.....

Mary, I'm thinking I must live in a weird area..No one has heard of carrying quilts/blankets in a police car...The gal who is doing my teddy bears did tell me, she asked her son if he needed stuffed animals to put in his car...I think we need to get something started around here.....Yes, the house does sound good but will depend on what my realtor has to say...And it's not the end of the world if I stay here, what is to be will be! But, in the mean time, I'm sure getting rid of "stuff", lol....

Jana, I can imagine the judge would be upset, that's uncalled for..But, he's probably hoping all will be forgotten, NOT! It seems like you're sending your white stuff east but we really don't want it so it's OK, to keep it all.....

Chickie, you also can keep all that yucky weather, we won't mind! But, just think, if it's icy outside, you have to stay inside and look what all you can accomplish....What I don't like is when it's "iffy" and of course everyone tells me, you have a Subie, you'll be OK out there....Well, Ruby doesn't like the cold and snow any more than I do and prefers to stay in the heated garage....I think I've trained her very well....

Becca, I hate to hear about meds being messed/mixed up, there's no excuse.....I get my RX at Walmart and have not had a problem until just a week ago...I have an RX for a nasty cream for my back and also a cream for my feet...Well, I wanted the back stuff and they gave me the foot stuff, which was OK but had it been something really important, I'd have been upset...But, I'm very happy with their service and the people couldn't be any nicer....

Tina, such sad news, praying for the family.....Hope your day is going good.....

Today is really a huge "ugly" day...But, my problem, I start with something and then end up in another room doing something else...Now here's one for you....Kevin gave me all of Cindy's "bingo junk" and she was a bingo junkie...In her bag, she had quite a few dobbers so I thought, I'd check, make sure they were OK and then put them in the drawer where we play so others could use them...Well, do you know how messy that stuff is if you take the cap off and it spills on the counter?????AND it happened to be a glow in the dark pink so now my hands are glowing, big time....I scoured the counter top and where it dripped on the floor, got it off but the hands are going to be colorful for awhile...I think Cindy might have been trying to tell me something or maybe just wants me to think about her, lol.....
But, I have the washer running, ready to vacuum the carpets upstairs and down, bathroom is squeaky clean and I'm about ready to park it....
As for dinner, haven't really thought too much about it but need to clean out the fridge......Of course pizza does sound awfully good but I'm being lazy and don't really want to go pick one up....Oh well, we'll see what appears on the table.....

You all have a great rest of the day......

Happy eating.............
