SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Dec 17th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:27 am

Good morning,

It's about 38* here this morning and I think we're going to 45*. Dry today, but rain is on the way later this week. Our landscapers are returning this morning to finish the job. Should take them about half a day, I think. Yesterday I got my FGV ready for the quilt frame. It's now Bill's UFO! :D And he DOES know what a UFO is. He has 4 waiting on him now and by end of business today, he'll have my Nov lotto quilt for a total of 5. I have NONE! I have two WIP's (yo-yo's and scrap strips), but no real UFO's. After a massage appt this morning, I will piece a backing for the lotto top, and then clean my sewing room.

Yesterday Bill and a helping friend were out finishing up the site for our new RV shelter, measuring, leveling, etc. Vicki was at her open window, keening, chanting, or singing. We're not sure what to call it. Trying to drive way the evil spirits. And it worked! That's about the time our friend, Doyle, left! All our activity has really got her agitated but she has remained on her own property and has not confronted us verbally or physically. Just watches from the window or sometimes out in her yard.

BECCA - so sorry to hear you lost a third cousin - your third this month. Also sorry your day was such a rough one. So nice to have your Marty there with you, though. I hope today is better. Great news about the twins - 7 pounds!! They are really thriving!

CHICKIE - happy birthday to your DGS. 21! Where do the years go?? My BFF's son's birthday is today, too. He's 48. I remember when he was 7!! Can I really be that old?? Sending wishes for best possible results for Doyal's kidney U/S today. Sounds like you are managing to get Christmas almost all caught up! The Broncos lost their game. My poor DBIL considers THAT the tragedy, not the 'Niners' loss! He/they are having a lousy year. So nice that your DS and his GF work the holidays so others can be home with families. I used to do that, too. Made me happy to be able to make others happy.

TINA - our Christmas forecast is 41* and rainy. I'd love a bit of white, but maybe our new plants wouldn't appreciate snow so soon after being planted. And we'd really like that new shelter up and our trailer under it and the pick-up back into the cozy shop before any snow flies. Right now the trailer is parked in front of the shop so the truck is out in the woods out of the way of the work trucks and equipment. Glad you've just about got Christmas "in the box" - the gift box, that is. Easton sounds like a little fashionista. What are you getting Frankie? We're only doing a few small things this year - we think the yard and shelter is more than enough. But I did get Bill 2 pair of jeans that he REALLY needs. And a laser level. Not the $150 one that he borrowed from friend, Doyle, but a $26 one. I hope it works OK. But I never know what to get him and he never gives any hints, even when I ask him outright what he wants.

JANA - sounds like your train job is a pretty important one. Is it an 'honor' that can be given to one of the grands one year? That's a great whopper Aaron and Kate are telling Lila and Gracie. lol! Nice when they are still young enough to buy our stories! And yes, the last game of the year, my Hawks play your 'Niners. Let the trash talk begin! lol!

IRISH - Didn't you say that Kathy and Tim are arriving Wed, as in tomorrow?

I did get my pinto beans into the crockpot yesterday but it was late so I cooked them on high for the afternoon and that worked. We had them over boiled potatoes. I used a can of "pulled pork" that we bought in a pack of 6 from Costco - like in big tuna fish type cans. I wouldn't bother buying that product again. Ugh. Just sayin' . . . . But the beans were flavorful.

Is there a plan yet for your supper?

Good morning my buddies,

Today it is in the low 40's here in AZ. Cold for here. No snow expected for our Christmas ever here in Surprise. Actually it would be a surprise if it did son owed here.

Tonight is going to be left over meatloaf. Ken has his billiards league , so we always do something quick on Tuesday.

Ken and I have been up since 4 am with Luke. He got his first shot from us this morning and all went well. I explained this over in the daily sharing thingy. Lol forgot what it is called.....can you tell. Lol. This is happening more often, getting old..er really has its drawbacks. BUT, of course, the man of the house is back in bed. Well so is Luke, so I guess both the males are back sleeping and here I sit. Lol

This next year I am going to work on my UFO's. I don't know how many I have, but I am going to start this afternoon. I am also not going to let my friends side track me by talking me into starting yet another project. Lol

Well hope you all have a wonderful day and the happiest of holidays.

Carole

Good morning!

Well, Scrooge just moved the sofa, so he can lay the last curve in the track. Yippee! We have a section of track that is very complicated to assemble. Michael has all the little sections labeled and I think this year, it will stay together for next year. Now to check the electrical continuity and turn on the train! I have learned over the years, it not as simple a connecting track in a circle under the tree.

Dinner - no idea, but tacos may appear. Michael has that rotten test on Thursday, to which he has to drink the nasty pre prep gunk on Wednesday. Not looking forward to all this. Sarah will go with us on Thursday up to SLC.

I am itching to get back into making a quilt! Have a few UFO's buzzing around the Batt Cave I will do too. Asked Santa for a Judi Niemeyer pattern and all the fabric to make it. We will see if Santa brings it, or just the OK to go pick it all out.

Enjoy!

Good morning!
Brrrrr it's cold here this morning! 28 when I got up and I think our high will be in the 40's, tomorrow's low will be 21! We also have some wind so I know I'm not going outside!
Mary, your yard is having us all waiting impatiently LOL
I'm getting Frankie 2 pairs of needed jeans also and some socks and 2 flannel shirts. He never tells me what he wants either Mary.
Carole, oh my goodness, our Luke but glad it's treatable. In the shots, are they like human insulin shots where it's premeasured and you just push a button? I used to give my puppies and dogs their annual shots but after several years one day it just got to me and I felt sick after so I quit doing it, they go to the vet now. But I understand twice a day isn't feasible for that.
Becca, oh my goodness, already turning over! Those little stinkers ❤❤ We all do get 2 weeks off, mine will be short because if all the baking for Christmas and cooking Christmas dinner but it's a different thing.
Jana, yay the train is ready! We're excited about it here too! 😊 I didn't give Frankie any ideas for this Christmas for me but I did tell him and Holly both that next Christmas I'd love a scan and cut, I love doing applique but the tracing gets to my fingers sometimes. At least I'm giving them a full year to save for it LOL
Tonight is our late night with the kids and it's Dad's night to eat too so I'm making chicken alfredo for supper.

TIna, to answer your questions...no, it is not a pen(I hated those when I had to give myself shots) lol. This is the vial, and syringes. I would rather do it this way. Yes, it is insulin that will be injected. We have to take him back on Thursday to check and see where we are at with his sugar. Hopefully, it comes down. Thanks for caring and asking.
