SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, May 7

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue May 07, 2019 3:53 am

Good morning!

We were 75* yesterday! I made the most of it and played in my weed-ridden flowerbeds all afternoon. I put an audio book in my ear get down on my knee pad, and presto! 3 hours were gone by! I got 3 beds done. Maybe more today. I spent the morning making a quilt back and a 2-color binding for my March Lotto Win quilt. It's now in the quilting queue but will most likely be done after Alaska.

Today, probably more of the same - fiddling in the sewing room, yard work, and heating pad. Rick & Dot will return tonite from their short trip to Victoria. Can't wait to hear what they have to say about it. It's spectacular there, especially the Butchartt Gardens. We haven't been in 29 years. Time to go again, I say!

BECCA - sorry your family had to leave. It was a fast four days!

IRISH - Funny about Terry and Teresa and Mother's Day! But better than late - or not at all. I received a card from Autumn yesterday and couldn't figure out what it was for. I'd forgotten all about Mothers Day! I know it was hard to go through Jim's things and give them away. But you found a good use for them that you know he would be glad about. I hope that brought some comfort to you.

JANA - sounds like trouble is in full swing at your house! lol! But so sorry for Kate and family. How long will Daniel and family be staying? I hope we don't see your Troopers on Live PD! I always watch for Daniel whenver they go to Utah.

Our supper last night was delish, though we swapped out chicken for the pork chops. When I went rooting around in the freezer, I couldn't find the chops. We have enough left tonite to make a chicken and potato hash. (is that a thing??). And asparagus to go with. and sliced tomatoes, I think.

What are you thinking for tonite?

Good morning!

Just waiting on the boys - need a Home Depot run to get some wallpaper paste. Even though the paper is prepasted, I still brush on paste - I don't want to go down there the next morning and see the paper on the floor! Then I will work on my part of this bathroom.

My girls are going shopping down at the new mall by my house.

Dinner - tacos. It should be just us and Daniel's family.

Kate is holding up fairly well. They were here last night too. The funeral will be on the 18th. They have family traveling, so that is the reason for so far off.

Mary - glad you are healing. My second MIL fell once, broke her glasses, bruised her face and did proceed to tell everyone that Michael's dad did it to her. Oh what a mess that was, FIL was a very gentle, kind, patient man and never would do that! MIL had lost a few marbles in her old age.

Well, need to get the boys going, I have other things I want to do.

Enjoy!

Jana

Jana, we've done a lot of wallpapering in this house - the latest project was last January. And never EVER has the pre-pasted paper stayed up. We just get the paste now and brush it on. Works so much better! Glad Kate is holding up. But after all is said and done, funeral over, visiting families gone home, she may have a tough time. But I know you'll be there for her!

Well the paper is up and ready for the boys to go to town with nailing up the barnwood. It took all of me to get that paper hung - climbing up on a step ladder, just about killed my bum leg/hip. That will be the last paper I ever get to hang. From now on, I supervise and teach the younger generation! I even got Michael to hang up the last little strip for me - he never papers or paints, that was always my job - I learned to do it quite well. Michael takes good direction as he never did this before.

Gracie is over to play with Karlie this afternoon. Then Ethan will be here.

Mary - my house in Concord had paper in every room - one room I had a border strip that I trimmed off the paper edge, cutting out the design around each flower and leaf, then put it on the wall.

Hugs,
Jana
