SUPPER CLUB - Monday, APRIL 1st!
Can you believe it's already April?? Though from some of the temps you right-coasters woke up to, maybe not. We've been 65 and sunny for several days but starting tomorrow, we'll be 10-15 degrees cooler and rainy. That's OK. We worked outside yesterday more than we'd planned and I'm happy to stay inside again for a while now. I also got all my fabric washed and dried on the lines (no wrinkles!) as well as two loads of dirties and a set of new sheets. That was the morning. The afternoon went a lot more slowly and I used the Windex, furniture polish, and duster in both the family room and the bedroom. I even washed a window!! Good on me!! Today will be to vacuum those rooms, maybe wash another window, and go grocery shopping at Costco and Freddy's. (Fred Meyer is a Kroger-owned grocery chain here). We have to shop for company dinner for 6 on Wed, luncheon for 4 on Sat, and camping trip for 10 days (leaving on Sun.). I would love to get my sewing room tidied up again, too. But that's a low priority.
LORI - don't stress over windows! They only get dirty again. I try to adopt the philosophy of 'what's the point?', though admittedly, the point becomes more clear when we can no longer see out of the windows.
TINA - glad your legs are feeling better. Bleachers are AWFUL! They can compress the nerves and circulation in the backs of your thighs, not to mention what they do to your back. Glad your treatments are working for you. Hope your winds die down soon! I really don't like wind. And if you are making coconut anything, count me in! LOVE coconut! I think coconut cake is my all time favorite cake. Gosh! Now you got me wanting to bake!
CHICKIE - You are rich in calves! Any idea how many more are on the horizon? Let's hope they are all healthy babies from healthy moms so you don't have to do your surrogate gig again. Did you name Timi's baby? And I think you are off to your own mom's for her bath, right? Can she actually get into a tub or do you put her into a walk-in shower or do a bed bath? I hope one day soon, you get some time to be one with your sewing machine!
JANA - how many concerts does Sarah do? When my kids were young they liked to make chocolate waffles - or 'turtles', as the recipe called them. Special occasion snacks! Did Andrew learn how to decorate his cake?
Last night we had poached eggs on toast with leftover green chili enchilada sauce over them. Pretty good. But tonite is still a mystery to me. Since we're going shopping today, maybe a ready made pizza will fall into the cart.
What's happening on your plate tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, APRIL 1st!
Mary, I usually do my Windows every month, but it's rained a lot this winter so I waited. I use a squeegee and soapy water so it goes fast. Jack and Wrigley get their nose prints all over the sliders. I have to do those weekly.
I was busy cleaning all day. Then I got the grocery shopping done last night. Just need to vacuum and change the sheets and I'm ready for company.
I put pinto beans in the crockpot. We'll have tostadas for dinner.
Have a lovely day. Lori

Good morning
My morning is almost gone and I just now got to sit down for a few minutes. It'll be in the go again in 25 minutes to get Easton and do some more errands.
We were in the mid 30's this morning, brrrr. I'm hoping today will be a no wind day, I really need a break from it. We have Hummers!! The shed is moved out of the back yard, it didn't fare very well so we're not sure if it can be fixed and used or not. More fencing needs to go up too, right now it's good for keeping my turtles in the yard but the chickens and anything else can hop over it right now.
Dad is coming for supper, I'm making ham, mac n cheese, applesauce and that might be it. We do have coconut cream pie for dessert! Hehe.
Mary, I have a cake recipe....I think it's called Elvis' cake and it has coconut! I might make it at Easter because it's a big cake and I don't want that much here for just Frankie, Dad and me.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, APRIL 1st!
Good morning!
Dinner is already - leftovers from last night. I have most of the dishes done, need to empty the dishwashers and reload the last little bit. Also getting the laundry caught up too. I am always making too much food, so I put away sauce in the freezer and still have enough for tonight. As soon as I change the laundry, heading down to the Batt Cave.
Mary - I loved being up at my Aunt's cabin in the redwoods with all the ferns growing in the rotting tree stumps. Some of these stumps were 6 or 8 feet tall, cut down by the Russians. They had a fort, Fort Ross on the ocean coast. These stumps were 4 or 5 feet in diameter too. They were huge! The state of California has restored much of the old fort.
Tina - oh how I know how you are runing, picking up kids! I am so happy now that Ethan iscwalking home to here. But that will only be till the end of this school year. He will be at another school next year, about 2 miles from me. Uuggh, boundary changes!
My new F&P magazine arrived and on the cover is a great wall hanging. Of course, I ordered the charm pack and will make that quilt later this week. Jewel tones, great for my house!
Well, my machines are all singing, different tunes, but they are done.
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, APRIL 1st!
Hello everyone,Just got home & things put up.Been another one of those frenzy days where things go wrong.
But a beautiful day after a cold start in mid 20s.We are at Sunset Restaurant. They gave me a gift certificate for my Birthday. The owners are my DGDs in laws.
Denise Called & Said Marks Clothes don’t fit after his sickness. He lost 9 lbs in 4 days.
She’s trying to feed his chicken soup & rice. They plan to come back to finish cabin & get it on market as soon as he’s up to it.
Maryz Your ferns are pretty Im sure.We have lots here.Yard work is never ending if you have property.Im putting windows off until it gets warmer.
I hadn’t seen any of my nieces or nephew in years. One come about 3 years ago but the others at least 15 or more.
Lori Do Enjoy your DS & The Others.Mine Enjoyed the Veggie Soup I made.I added a chicken pie too.We had a great time.
Tina I do hope your legs get better.Bleachers are hard on backs too.You must have to be on the go constantly with the little ones.I remember those running days all too well.
A yard is a constant job.And I know you love your turtles too.
Your pie sounds good.
Chickie Sure your little calves are so cute. And your time is so busy with Mom bathing sitting & all you do for others.
Jana Your Family is like Mine.On the go.Seems so ridiculous Kids can’t go to closest school.
Since we ate in Town it will be very lite here.I have me some strawberries ready to eat.I had spices apples at the restaurant & they were so good.
Have a great meal. Becca
