SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Feb 6
Good morning,
I had this mostly typed out and then Bill came along, started talking to me, and when I looked back my post was all gone. Dang!
We're 23* this morning and more snow is in our weekend forecast. I can dig it for myself, as this is rare for us, but I feel badly for folks who can't stay home - like my son, DSIL, and two grandsons.
I got my 8 quilt tops ready for quilting. Today I plan to quilt the first one, and maybe get a start on the second. I'll do half of them freehand and I hope to get Bill to do the other half with the Q-bot. He's lost interest in quilting but I warned him when he sunk $3,000 into the Q-bot and all that goes with it that after spending that much money, he BETTER not wimp out after only a few years! He promised he wouldn't. (Bill has a history of expensive hobbies he's lost interest in.) But he never promised he'd do it without crabbing about it. So let the crabbing begin!!
IRISH - welcome home!! Sounds like your trip was fun, despite the rainy days, but all too short! How were your eaglets? How is Gin doing?
CHICKIE - how was the meeting? What goes on? How much can you discuss on birds?
BECCA - Cedar Cove is sort of a real place. Debbie has modeled it after Port Orchard, her real town, just up the road from us about 15 miles. Glad your water outage was short-lived.
JANA - glad Michael is improving! Sounds like aspiration pneumonia to me. Glad he's getting treated for it.
TINA - I never like the half-time shows at the Super Bowls so that's when I go do something else for a while. Sorry your 70's went away. but just think, if it stayed 70* in February with no where to go but up, July would be miserable!
We had our pork chops and scalloped potatoes last night and I purposely made enough for tonite, too. Might take a break from the brussels sprouts, though, and have salad.

Good morning!
Mary - Michael has only two expensive hobbies, trains and computers, well, me too, but I am not expensive, ROFLOL! It won't take you long to get those quilts finished up.
Dinner - humm, stil getting breakfast cleared up - we won't starve.
Ethan was here yesterday. We made cow pie cookies. A chocolate cookie, loaded with milk chocolate chips, semi sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, then after they are baked, drizzled with chocolate and white chocolate stripes. He had fun making them. He left me four cookies and took home the rest, stopping off at our friend's house and shared a dozen with them. He has a snow day today, so I may see him again, that is if the roads get plowed.
It has snowed all night and is still snowing. Aaron expected to be called in early this morning. The freeways are treacherous and he is busy! So far, we have received about a foot of snow. All my fence pists have their snow caps again.
So I am staying in, doing uglies and finishing my craft projects. I got the hooks I needed, so as soon as I want to brave going outside, the Valentine decoration will be hung for the month.
Irish - welcome home! Caltrans closes Donner Pass at the drop of a snowflake! We would take the lower route home to California, when that happened, through the Feather River Canyon, much prettier and there were trains.
Need to scoot,
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Feb 6
Good morning! DH arrived back from coffee early while I was still rolling around on the floor on my yoga mats, so my time cut short to get here first.
We are icy here today. It started last night; the porch was slick when we got home from our meeting. Today… YUCK! I’ll probably walk to take care of Ava and use my walking stick just so I don’t have to drive or scrape ice off the truck windows. I’m still hoping to go to see my DD on Friday, but the forecast tonight and tomorrow is bleak.
Our meeting went well last night. Everyone loved my refreshments—especially the decorated cookies and the tortilla roll ups. They kept coming back for seconds and thirds of them. The program was on wind energy and the hazards to migrating and other birds from the wind farms. There is one going in about 20 miles or so from us. The program was by The Nature Conservancy and their views—for green energy and encourage it, but want to keep certain areas protected. It was very informative.
Mary—8 tops ready for quilting! Wow!!! I have more than 8 tops to be made. Good luck with getting all of them quilted!!!
Irish—welcome home! Sounds like the bail fund is intact and you still had a blast!
Sorry this is short. I have stuff to look up on the computer for our taxes, and DH is wanting everything. Stat! I am planning to sew on table runners this afternoon. I got a good start yesterday. My DGDIL and her mom will love them, I know!
Dinner tonight—big salad or vegetable soup for me (if I make it), and DH will have his last pork chop. I just had a big salad with lots of veggies for brunch, so I’m thinking I’ll go throw stuff in the crock pot for soup and enjoy its warmth on a cold, gloomy evening.
Bon appétit!

Hello everyone, rainy here but the sun pops out about every hr between the rain showers. We are to turn cold again. But oh did I enjoy those sunny warm days.Sun felt so good to just soak it up.
Maryz I figured there wasn’t any Cedar Cove.I do like most of her books.Hadnt read one in a long time.We saw where you are going to have cold temps.Oh I was so grateful Levi could fix the filter. He put a whole new one on so it should be fine.He was a lifesaver bec we had water in the basement. Not bad but you don’t want all that moisture in there.
Chickie Do becareful on ice.One day years ago I was out walking.Hit a patch of black ice & wentscooting on my bottom.Didnt get hurt but it could have been bad.
I knew they would love your refreshments.
Jana Thats so sweet of Ethan to share his cookies. And they sound yummy just something DH would love as he is a chocolate lover.I think all our DHs have expensive hobbies.Mine used to trade cars every year.
Irish WELCOME HOME.Glad it was such a fun trip. And getting to look forward to seeing your little sweetie too. What fun that will be.And Having Kathy home too.
Denise Called Yesterday.Wanting to plan my Birthday party.I told her to forget it.So she is having one for us together when it gets warm enough. We Both Hit the big # this year.
Our DGS & His Family are coming home last of April & first of May.I hope we can plan it for then but she said Mark has a wedding on that weekend. We shall see.
I got my groceries this morning so that’s a big chore done.DS is eating with his DD & Family Tonite. So we have leftovers.Chicken Breast, rice & Ill add broccoli. He has chocolate cake Estel brought him. Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Feb 6
Good afternoon from chilly, dreary, soggy, SW. Pa...We've had rain and then more rain....Weather is good for those people who have wells....
Mary, I agree with the others, you will have those quilts done in no time....I always did think, you could have a quilt completely done and I'm still fooling around deciding colors....You've been such an inspiration, I'm going to dig out some of mine...The digging out part might be easy but then I have to finish them....
I'm sort of like Bill in the need for some of those hobbies and then I'm out of the mood....Of course if I stayed home, I might get more accomplished...The next trip might be to Arizona and in a couple of months my sister and I will go to Reno....Have been reading up a storm and enjoying the books and the book marker, very much.....And Gin is doing fine although, she's lost weight since I saw her at Christmas, very thin and the BooBoos have healed...She did get a paper telling her she's to appear at a hearing...So, I guess it was up to the police to take it further.....AND those eagles, that was a sight to see...The little ones are walking, flapping their wings and are big enough that you can see them from the parking lot next to the pasture...It was wonderful......
Becca, Cedar Cove used to be a series on, I believe Halmark and then, it just went off...It was a good program and I was so disappointed when it went off....But, those McComber (sp) books are good...You'd better watch with those birthdays, you'll be catching up with me....I think Mr. Sun likes you better...
Chickie, be careful when you are out traipsing in the cold....Years ago, and I mean years, I was helping out in the school library, not far, so I walked...Coming home, half way through the yard, I slipped on the ice covered grass and boy did I go down..Of course the 1st thing you do is look around to see if anyone caught you on camera..But, by the time I finally got myself in the door, my elbow was swollen and would pop out of the joint...Jim's mother lived next door so I went there and waited for Jim to get home from work and off to the ER......They told me it wasn't broken and they wrapped it and I came home...The following week, I needed to have it checked and sure enough more xrays and it was broken and a nice sized piece of bone was also hidden there...I was all summer and into fall before I could really use it...So, those simple falls can be dangerous...My lecture for the day! Be careful!
Jana, when Kathy gives me the snow prediction, I just shutter..And riding through the mountains out there, I could see where you'd get in trouble..I'm sure Kathy has taken that route but will have to ask.....Oh my, those cookies sound good....
I got up earlier than usual this morning...Really had the fur kids confused..But, I have accomplished a lot and will need a nap soon, lol....
Have to tell you a "kind of" funny story...The neighbor fellow was taking care of my fur kids and I also left a note to check the bird feeder and add more food...Well, I get a call from said neighbor, "Where is the bird feeder?" Right across the back porch/patio hanging on my hanging basket hook is a feeder...While we were on the phone, he then said, he "found" it and all is well....WELL, when I went to feed them, I noticed a humming bird feed at the end of the roof that I had forgotten to take down...Guess where he put the bird feed????I had a good laugh but I made sure I took that feeder down so it doesn't happen again, lol....
Not sure what's cooking or if anything's cooking. I've been eating lunch late and then I sure don't want to think about another meal...I have a little soup left over from last night, so that might be it, might!
Was happy to leave the bail money fund in tact...BUT, not promising it won't be needed in the next couple trips...
You all have a great rest of the day....Be safe!
Happy eating..........

Hi all
I have no idea where I'm posting but I am posting.....they aren't showing up.
Dad's on his way so I'll be quick, I made a pot of soup, the Zouppa one from Olive Garden. I'm hoping it's magic and gets rid of the sneezing
we have wind and dirt blowing, just what we needed.....not.
I'll be back.

Supper tonight is a bologna sandwich and potato salad. your suppers sound much more appetizing, but I hate to cook just for me. After I eat, I'm going to kick back and just relax tonight before bedtime. Enjoy your sustenance this evening.
