Supper Club -Fri, Jan 19

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 19, 2019 3:02 am

This will be short. We are dry camping on the desert which means no power to charge my phone, which is what I am using to post. We are in Southern California, just over the state line from Yuma and in our own home time zone! Bill has an appointment with his Mexican dentist today. We will go over the border and hope to get back. We heard there is to be a big political announcement today and we are hoping that it’s not made when we are in Mexico and that The announcement is not that the borders are going to be closed immediately. My sister and brother-in-law will be in charge of our “boys“ while we are gone.

Weather here is nice but we hear it’s going to be a windy day. A good day to not be sitting around camp.

We may eat a hearty lunch at a restaurant in Algodones, Mexico and call that ”lupper”. Depends on how long Bill’s appointment is and what he has done. Possibly a crown. Possibly nothing. Or we may come back to camp and have meatloaf and baked potatoes. My sister made dirty rice last night and announced they are now out of food. So we might go grocery shopping later this afternoon. Bill & I both have colds and are running short of orange juice, tissues, coffee, and TP. All the essentials!

Good SATURDAY morning!

Mary - working on a tiny phone keyboard and a cold to boot, one can see how you missed it is Saturday. Get well and hope that Bill won't need anything!

Michael is making the errand run this morning. I am staying here and finishing a few uglies, like washing floors! At least I have a great toy that makes it really easy to wash the kitchen floor. It mops and sweeps at the same time.

Dinner - something simple, and tomorrow I am doing a pot roast in the crockpot.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon from a very dreary, kind of soggy but no snow, yet, SW. Pa...I have a feeling, the "big" snow storm will miss us but if you'd hear the weather people around here, "it's time to panic", lol....This is Pa. for heavens sake, we adapt to what might come! Already, they have closed almost everything for tomorrow and Monday, lol....My only wish is for the roads to be OK on Tuesday, Dan and Casey are taking me to see Hamilton and then keep the roads clear for Sat. for our flight.....Not asking for too much.....

Mary, you just flit from one state or country, to the other, don't you? I've never been over the border, south, and I honestly think I'd be afraid to do it now.....Sorry to hear the punies are hitting your house on wheels but hopefully, all will be OK soon....Meat loaf and baked potatoes, always a favorite.....

Chickie, just want you to know, I picked up "your" book, "The Girl in Cabin 10" and am having a hard time putting it down..Of course, it really isn't one to read when you're laying in bed trying to go to sleep, Yikes! I've noticed, the author has a few more, which I might have to reserve....

Today is major ugly day, not sure why but working on it....I've finished upstairs, even scrubbed the carpets....Now to tackle the rest of the house...I talked to my DDIL, Cindy, and told her depending on the weather, I might be at the engagement party tomorrow...And then I talked to my sister and she's doing pretty much what I had gone through, sorting through her Dh's clothes...Never a good thing...I still can't believe, it's almost a year that Jim's been gone...And I do still have a lot of his things still hanging in one of the closets...

Talked to Kathy and she and Tim are leaving for their cruise in the morning...The doctor told him, he just has to keep taking the meds and at the 1st sign of pain, head for the ER...He'll have to have blood work done frequently and probably more surgery...But, she said, they will do what has to be done.....
For my dinner or lupper as Mary called it, I'm making veggie/beef soup...One good thing, I won't have to worry about cooking for a few days, lol.....Might have to bake something.....

You all have a great day....If you're getting hit with the storms, please be safe, be careful.....

Happy eating...............
