Supper club -monday, dec 31

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Dec 31, 2018 12:53 am

Good morning!

Last day of the year today. I also have my last tai chi class. The Linda’s bailed out. They both have injuries and say they are aggravated by the tai chi. Bill made an appointment for the truck to have a oil change this morning so I was going to miss The class for no transportation. But one of the other husbands, who said he would meet Bill for breakfast, said he would take me to class and come back and pick me up on his way home from breakfast. He is such a nice guy.

Yesterday went unexpectedly. We went to Joannes and picked up fabric and a pattern for jammy pants for my little sewing class next Thursday with Autumn‘s teenage library volunteer. Then we went shopping for Aut’s birthday present. After that we went to bass pro to look for safety glasses for safety glasses for his shooting class but didn’t find any. We made one more stop before getting home and bidda badda boom! The morning was gone. We took a long walk with the dog, then took down our outdoor Christmas lights. I sewed from 2 o’clock to 4 o’clock-made two blocks. Nine to go. We didn’t get to watch the Seahawks game last night but were able to follow the score with our phones. They pulled it out in last 3 sec with a field goal. Let the playoffs begin!!

This is short today as I have to get ready for class. We are going to the Longhorn steakhouse tonight for dinner with our friends. Then back to the neighbors to play cards. We have champagne chilled just in case, and we will all go home by 10 PM at the latest. Nothing says you have to celebrate the new year at midnight in a particlar time zone. 💥🎉🎊✨⚡️💫🎉

Hope your New Years Eve is just how you like it -crazy fun or a quiet early night! Just be safe. Happy New Year!

Good morning!

Stu stopped by already and shoveled us out. Now the driveway is clear and we may go out to the store. Need to see the roads, as it is still snowing a bit. We will party here at home. It is going to be the coldest temps here for the year, single digit! My house will be nice and warm! A few finger snicky snacks for tonight and tomorrow during all the games.

I laid out my quilt blocks from this year's webinar. Love the center, Michael doesn't like how the other blocks, sampler style, on the edge fit. He says they don't go, even though they are from the same fabrics. So I may punt those blocks into a quilt of their own and make a few more log cabin blocks to make an entire log cabin quilt, set in the barn raising pattern. What to do, what to do....

Dinner - may cook, or just piece,

Happy New Year!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a chilly, rainy, dreary, SW. Pa....Oh Boy, what a way to end the year but that only means, better days ahead, right.....

Mary, your yesterday sounds like a good day and you did get things accomplished....I didn't even turn the TV on and had no idea who was playing or what and surprisingly, I survived....
My lasagna turned out very good but I discovered, it's just not for me so Nick will be getting the left overs.....But, I had to try it, whether the stomach agreed or not, lol....I did tell the gang, I would be putting a small pork tenderloin in the crock pot along with Kathy's home made sauerkraut...We'll see how that "goes down", lol...
Of course my daughter is not one to stay home when she has a few days off so she and Tim were off to Napa...There is a little hole in the wall that specializes in crepes and she ha to send me a picture of their brunch, nasty kid that she is....She also sent me some of her vacation days (coming east) and it's looking good..One time in June, she's coming to baby sit Lena and I'm sure she'll need help!

My plans for the big evening, is maybe walking down to our neighbor's, (Ted and Donna), eating left over cookies and having coffee...Normally, I take a little bottle of wine but not this year...Jim and I had been doing this for many, many years and last year I stayed home but I think Jim would want me to be with them this year....I also feel, it's going to be the start of a very good year.....

So, my friends, please enjoy the evening, be safe and my wishes are for all of you to have a very, very Happy, Healthy, New Year......

Love you all.........

Good morning! I’m here! This has been a crazy few days, and I haven’t seen my computer. DH has been getting home from coffee early, and it totally upsets my day! I’ve done my yoga practice this morning, and I hope to grab a few minutes here with you and my second cuppa Joe.

Mary—enjoy your tai chi. We have those days when we can’t find what we are looking for. Who knew Bass Pro wouldn’t have safety glasses for the range. The jammie pants are a good first project.

I started this before 10:00 a.m. DH came in the door as I was typing the above paragraph. Breakfast, a run to town, and lunch transpired; and now here I am again.

Jana—LOL! Two quilts and a wall hanging or two quilts or… what to do, what to do! That was a really neat webinar quilt.

We are 45 here, but the temps will start dropping. Wednesday night and Thursday are to be nasty—freezing precipitation and possibly snow… not to mention frigid temperatures. Aaak! It’s winter. Wake me in April!

Irish—so sorry lasagna’s not for you. Nick wins that one! I know it’s delicious. Maybe the tenderloin and kraut will go down better. Kraut is supposed to be good for probiotics and digestion. Fingers crossed! Oh, I know you will definitely need to help with Baby Lena! I’m glad you are looking forward to the new year! I like the idea of cookies and coffee with maybe a bit of wine.

I think we will stay in tonight. I don’t know if there is a party at DS1’s or not. I think the Pickles comic strip today will be us. Somewhere it’s already 2019, and I can celebrate with them!

Dinner tonight… I made some Florida fare last night, and there are leftovers. I might make mine in a F*** taco bowl. DH will have his with a veggie.

Happy (and safe!) New Year’s Eve and a wonderful, healthy 2019!

Mary - good news - you will get to see your Seahawks play on Saturday - they are playing Dallas - there will be nothing else on TV in Texas that day! LOL
