SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Dec 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Dec 06, 2018 1:13 am

Good morning!

We are back in our regular camp spot. And here it is Dec 6th! Time if flying by! Only two more weeks and the days will start growing longer again! We won't talk about Christmas, though, OK? Since it's only 19 days away!! Rain is starting today around noon, they say, and we might get up to 4". So we hope to get out and do a few errands - groceries, post office, hardware store - before that happens. This afternoon, maybe we'll put in a Christmas movie, or sew, or gather up all the things I've brought down for Autumn &Aaron and take stock and make lists, and wrap. Also, on Dec 16th, we're hosting a Christmas party in our campsite. Our friends will be here as well as close by campers. It's a friendly campground. so we need to get organized for that.

I'm not sure about supper tonite. Since we'll be at the store, it might be something I haven't even thought of yet. How about you?

Good morning! I think our high temp today was at midnight. I’ll be pulling on the flannel lined jeans when I walk Ava today.

You’re right! Time is FLYING, and Christmas is approaching way too quickly! I have so many things to take me away from my sewing projects. Eeek! Yesterday I found a kit and made a shopping bag for one of my sisters, and I’m going to use an assortment of fat quarters and make one for my other sister. I need to do one more table topper, and then it will be marathon quilting and hope I get finished in time to throw them in gift bags.

MaryZ—sounds like you are “home” and back hosting parties and having too much fun! It’s good to be you. Sure hope you are feeling MUCH better! I hope you find some goodies for dinner—no starving this time of year!

Dinner tonight—I have some leftovers for DH, and I’ll make a salad for me and have the other half of my artichoke. Meanwhile… I’ll be in my sewing room and walking Ava later.

Bon appétit!

Good morning :)
I've been busy running here and there and seems like I'm not getting anything accomplished. We had spicy chicken, sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts last night, I baked 3 more loaves of banana nut bread so we had quick Schwan's stuff hahaha.
Tonight Dad is coming over, I think it'll be forbidden food, salad and not sure if anything else.
We're supposed to really drop in temps tomorrow and have a 60% chance of rain, I sure hope we get it, we're dry. I was out till dark watering things so they don't dryout too bad, mother nature needs help sometimes.
Time to get Preston ready to go get Easton.

Good afternoon from a very dreary, cold, SW. Pa...Not sure of the temps and maybe I really don't want to know, lol....DDIL, Cindy called and asked if I was ready for the snow...Well, darn, do we have a choice????

Mary, it does sound like you are back home and as busy as ever....Also, sounds like you might be feeling better but, how about taking it easy...This is a vacation, right????

Becca, I love to hear about the happenings going on at your house, especially when the little ones are there...And you never seem to run out of little ones, lol....You know, you getting that generator might be a good thing for all of us...Usually when you get something like that, you won't need it, which would be a blessing...And maybe that "blessing" just might carry over to us, not too north of you....

Chickie, Busy, busy, busy, that's you....I have no doubt, you'll get all your Christmas sewing done, even if you're sewing those last stitches on Christmas eve...Don't like to think about it but there were many times when I'd be up very late getting those said things done and of course would vow, next year will be different (it wasn't)...

Tina, you're also the busy one...I too had to really think about, out watering??? But then, remembered where you live...I sure do miss having Mr. Schwan stop, we really enjoyed the goodies...Of course if you'll remember, I also enjoyed having Mr. Schwan come in the summer wearing his shorts, lol....

Was debating on whether I "needed" to go out today or could put it off and then got a call from a friend asking if I was coming to the Meals on Wheels lunch tomorrow....Yea, I don't have to leave today! So, hopefully, if we don't get much snow, I'll go to lunch and pick up a couple things I had ordered at the Hallmark store...Sat. night I'm to go to a nephew's house and then stay over at my sister's but there again, we'll see what the weather man has in mind...I think my whole life is based around whether it snows or too cold, lol....By staying home, you'd think my house would be spotless but all I need is a look from BabyGirl and we're both in my recliner "taking a rest".....
Yesterday and again today, I couldn't pull myself away from the Bush funerals...I was and am in awe of the love this family has/had for each other...Didn't agree with the politics most of the time but that was all over looked in his passing....

As for my dinner, I might be following Tina's menu but I'm not going to write it.....Not sure what else, maybe applesauce.....

You all have a great day......

Happy eating...............

Good afternoon!

Finally able to be here! The contractors took out the phone/internet lines. I have been without for almost two days. Michael had to call in the outage, then show the technicians where the cables were. The contractor redug the hole so they could get to the wires. We have a locating service you call before you dig - the contractor did call and the locating service, showed up a day late to mark the cables. Marked after. They did this the last time we lost power, showed up and marked on the already dug dirt pile. I am a bit miffed!

Dinner will be leftover pizza or out - it is class tonight. We will have a break from class until the new year, after this one.

The girls did a wonderful job on my tree and kept wanting me to tell them stories of all my ornaments. It was fun!

Mary - glad you are back "home". Your Gig Harbor weather is missing me, but it is still cold here. Barely above freezing. Love the little birds story from your parents. That is what memories are for.

Chickie - always busy - you don't walk, you run! I have two quilts to get on my LA for gifts - need go get to it!

Tina - banana bread -yum! I have soups in the freezer for nights like that.

Irish - kitties and recliners - as my friend would say - doesn't get any better than that! Unless someone brought over dinner too!

I am making a batch of banned chowder for Sarah for Saturday and Sunday meals. Stu will be home to help with the Christmas Concerts those two nights. He helps out on the tech crew for these productions. So I will be feeding them.

A week from tomorrow is the big Tabernacle Choir concert. Tickets are very hard to get - everyone here in the valley wants to go. Matt got 4 and is taking us to one of the performances. Every year, PBS stations play the concert as one of their main pledging events. This is one of those, but won't be seen until next year. They save it - if you watch the concert on PBS, it was done last year. It will be lots of fun and dinner out too.

Well, need to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana
