SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday 20 November
Good morning! I can’t believe I am here before Mary, but she will probably post while I’m typing or one of you will. I’ve Walked Choc—I drove over in my jammies. I had to scrape heavy frost from my truck’s windshield, and the Hooligans waited patiently in the truck while I did the work. We saw a couple of bucks (or the same one twice?) on the long lane to DS’s house. I came home and jumped in the shower, then did my yoga. After walking the dogs (Choc and Ava) at noon, I’ll head over to deliver the birthday cookie.
Today is my DGD's Sweet 16 birthday! Sigh!!! She's growing up into a beautiful young woman. She is our youngest of the GKs. Hard to believe it was 16 years ago when DSIL and DD fostered her as a preemie from the hospital and were fortunate to get to adopt her into our forever family.
Becca—have to agree about the does being better venison. It was funny here. DH had always hunted the bucks. His sister hit a doe leaving the house one night, and DH salvaged the doe venison. He was amazed at how much better it tasted! I won’t eat any of it plain in a hamburger—must have lots of spices as well as onions and garlic. It’s better if I don’t know I’m eating Bambi’s mommy or poppy.
Pam—It’s good to GO for Thanksgiving! Enjoy! I’ve never insisted that my DD make any of my gatherings. They have enough pull from his family and her biological father. I don’t want to add to their stress. We just get together when we can and enjoy. It’s that way every holiday. I like to stretch when I’ve been sitting sewing. When I worked, I always took a long walk to the restroom. It was at the end of my hall, but I’d take the stairs up and around another floor and back downstairs.
Jana—such great news… Daniel is HOME and SAFE!!! Rejoicing with you! Oh, I do hope the storms roll though and put the fires out! Here we can have a 100% rain forecast only to see it evaporate to 0%.
Mary—hope they don’t stretch you into a pretzel! What! No aerobics??? I don’t know that I could do an aerobics class now. When I worked, I did a step aerobics class with students. I was old enough to be each of their grandma! I hung in there the whole semester of classes. I’m loving that Gypsy Wife pattern and have looked at it online. Yours are so wonderful!
I’ve never heard of that jaguarundie cat. We have bobcats here. They show up on the game cameras passing through along the trails. I wouldn’t bring one home, either!
Irish—I know you are watching Harriet and will report in soon!
Dinner here—I’m bringing back chicken. I promised to drop Mom off a dinner, and DH wants some as well.
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday 20 November
Good afternoon from another very dreary and chilly, SW. Pa...I had just peeked out and saw some tiny white stuff floating in the air and quickly closed the blind....Yuck!
Chickie, Nice to see you set the table...You sure are a busy bee this morning...It takes me half the morning to actually think about getting out of my robe and you're out looking at deer....I also had heard that the doe is the better, more tender of the 2 but still won't eat it...Kathy told me, what Tim was hunting was the black tailed deer, not the white tail we have in our area and they are to be better tasting but there again, won't prove it by me, lol....My Dad was a hunter and Mom would cook what he brought home but most of the time, he was the only one to eat it....He always went to camp with a group of men and even after he had his leg removed, had he lived, they vowed to take him along in his wheelchair....Do miss those days and all those old stories.....
Mary, I'm sure you'll be checking in sooner or later...Was you 1st stretching class yesterday or is it today? I'm wondering, when you're done with this class, will you be taller????If that works, I might have to join, lol.....
Not going to stay and chat, I'm on a roll and don't want to loose the momentum, which doesn't take much for me to loose.....
BUT, we do have another egg in the nest! Harriet laid the 2nd one about 5:56 last night...It's quite funny to watch when the male comes and sees the egg for the 1st time...You can tell, he's so proud of his family.....So, now we wait until close to Christmas for the hatching...I should be in Ft. Myers around that time and hoping to visit the nest...So exciting!
As for my dinner, once again, no clue...But, as the day goes on, maybe something will fall from the freezer....
You all have a great rest of the day....
Happy eating.....................

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday 20 November
Good afternoon!
I am stalling in getting the binding started on the last of my Christmas stockings. I bent the needle going through the fabric last night as it is a beast - tough to push the needle through. But I will get there!
Sarah just found us a new dangerous store - it is called Kirkland's - linens, household decorations, plates, etc. My downfall! I love dishes! So does Sarah - so I told her that she needs to take her Dad shopping there for my Christmas. And it is right here in town at the new shopping center. I have never heard of Kirkland's before - so it is new to us. Also next door to Kirkland's is a Home Goods - another dangerous store for us! LOL
Dinner - still have the chicken, so may turn it into chicken and rice with white country gravy and a veggie to be named later.
Ethan is walking home to Grandma's this afternoon. Grandpa is not pleased with the idea, but there are lots of kids from the neighborhood that live up on the next court that will be walking home as well. Too many crazies out there to have a little boy walk alone. It is not far from the school, so we will be on the look out for him - Michael may go hide in the church parking lot to keep a eye on Ethan. The church is halfway between us and the school. He will be fine!
Well better get busy, I have goofed off most of the day - puttering around getting some uglies done. Our new Shark vacuum is terrific!
Enjoy,
Jana

Jana, I can understand wanting to be careful!
Dinner tonight was wilted teriyaki salad and lemon beans. The lemon beans were easy. I mostly drained a can of pinto beans and threw them in a pot. I zested a lemon and carved out the segments. All I added to that was salt and pepper. Dan loved it.I celebrated my healthy eating with a Magnum caramel mini ice cream bar.
