Supper club

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Jul 06, 2018 3:03 am

Good morning.

Last day! We should be home be 9am. It’s a short run. Had supper at bills sisters last night. DBIL grilled steaks! I’m not a big meat eater but that was one of best steaks ever! Then I broke a tooth. 😩. Dentist is out if office until Monday. 😫

Today will be empty trailer and start mountain of laundry. 3 weeks worth plus towels and bedding. 😱. It will probably take me all weekend.

Supper is going to be freezer leftovers -meatball stroganoff and noodles.

Good morning :)
I'm so sorry about your tooth Mary, are you in pain?
Jazmyne stayed the night last night and the boys are coming over later so I can give them a haircut.
Supper tonight depends....if my BIL is eating here I'm making him red enchiladas, if he's not then we're having leftovers! Oh my goodness the brisket came out so yummy! Everybody loved it! We had 12 and nobody went away hungry :) I also made a chocolate cake; the one on the Hershey's can, it's my favorite and easy to make for a fast dessert. :)

Good afternoon from a warm, sunny, purrrfect summer day in SW. Pa...I think we might be done with the terrible flooding and the temps in the 90s for awhile...
Sorry I've been MIA for awhile but I do have an excuse, in fact a doctor's excuse, lol...Remember that tummy issue from a few weeks ago, well the darn thing didn't go away...At first the doctor felt it was diverticulitis, then after more testing, a few days in the hospital, they're still not sure and I still have the pains...So needless to say, I'm not happy! Not happy that Kathy and Tim couldn't come but very happy that Tim is recovering from his surgery...Not happy that I couldn't go on vacation with the kids but happy that most of them still went and my buddy, Nick, chose to stay home and tend to this old gal....And, I'm not sure why I should complain, basically, I feel pretty good, just not up to par yet....But, still plugging away, lol....I did make it to lunch yesterday, 1st time out in over a week, and it was good and boy did I sleep last night...I think the car was beginning to feel neglected....
So, today is a "maybe try to catch up" sort of day....Nick has kept things pretty much in order but I need to do something (even if it's wrong).....

Mary, will be so glad to have you back home and know you've had a great time....Sorry about the tooth, not a good ending for a special trip, is it? I really did love the pictures you posted, felt I was there with you.....

Tina, hope only good things are happening out your way...If I stop over, will you trim my hair? You really are a "jack of all trades" aren't you?

Becca, hope your hubby had a good birthday, which I'm sure all those phone calls made it special....Have you had time to sit and enjoy that swing on your porch?

Best I get moving....I haven't a clue what might be on tap for dinner tonight....It seems I've been eating a lot of poached eggs lately so tonight might be just soup or toast....One good thing about this whole episode is the weight loss but how come it's not falling off the hips as fast as it's coming off the boobs. I'll be in trainers soon......

You all have a great day......

Happy eating, whatever it might be........

Good afternoon,

We are hot! 99 and climbing! At least there is no humidity.

Did my shopping errands early this morning before it got too hot.

Irish - glad you are home and so sorry for the stay away from home! Hope you are feeling better now.

Mary - yum for the steak, ouch for the tooth! Glad you are home and hope everything is fine there, especially the yard.

Becca - love it here when Sarah's farm gets fresh veggies in - that will be shortly.

I found a new way to cook corn on the cob. Bring a pot haalf full of water to a boil. Then add 1 cup of milk and a cube of butter. Add the corn on the cob and cook for 6 -8 minutes. Then serve. It seemed more tender and no need for more butter. Will try it again. The recipe said this is the way the South cooks corn. This is for 6 to 8 ears. Since I only did two, I cut the milk and butter in half.

No idea on dinner - Stu may be here. Sarah and family, minus Stu went camping, so he is on his own. He has leftovers from Olive Garden.

Enjoy,
Jana

Tina, I love chocolate cake!

Mary, what a nice trip, and isn't it nice to be home and use your own toilet and shower?

Becca, I love farm fresh. The strawberries just got done, and now it's cherry and blueberry season. No local veggies, yet.

Irish, how upsetting to miss that trip, too. I wish the doctors knew what was causing the pain so they could fix it.

Jana, you can keep the 99 business there. It is in the 70's, here, and what a relief. We have all the windows open, and the AC off.

Supper, tonight will be cool. Cucumber salad made with greek yogurt instead of sour cream, cottage cheese and mandarin oranges, some other veggie like tomato or avocado, and strawberries.

Dan said he was too tired to take me out, so he is napping, right now. He's getting too old to work all these doubles. The girls are happy that we are both home.

Well, that's not exactly true. Green onions, lettuce, and sugar snap peas should be ready - I just haven't seen any. Another week or two, and I will start picking my lettuce.
