Hello Pals - WELCOME to CHRISTMAS in JULY!!!! *** This is a GREAT MONTH to start on all those Christmas presents and to JOIN if you are planning on being a SECRET SANTA!!!!

Many have asked me to make it EASY and I can't make it any easier than a Strip Block made using 12" Sandwich Papers or any other Lightweight Stabilizer. Start with a Folded 2.5" Strip, unfold and pinned with the crease of fold in the center. Other strips can be cut in different sizes between 2.5-1.5".

The Challenge block is the "Delectable Mountain" Block. Definitely need to watch your .25" seams and watch your cutting if using directional fabric.
* Mountains can be any Christmas Fabrics. NO SOLIDS

Terrific Katy!!! Great to know you have made Delectable Mountain block. I had FUN doing them but they do require accuracy in cutting and .25" seams. I also learned that when it comes to cutting the sides off and then cutting into 2" segments - I found the middle and only cut one side to make sure I had a 2" cut on the last one. It will be FUN to see what everyone chooses for the mountains.
I saw the 70% Off coupon and they always have it on days we don't go in and it is 35 miles to the closest one - Go figure!!

Teresa, did you do up all those delectable mountains? In El's dimensions, she doesn't give finished sizes. Do they end up 8 1/2 by 12 1/2? By the way, they are very pretty.

Teresa, what are sandwich papers? I searched the internet for quilting sandwich papers, and it was not helpful. Can it be any lightweight thing, like interfacing? Or does it need to be something papery that can be pulled off? I do string blocks with lightweight muslin - the see through kind.

Hi Pam - Thank you for the kind words on my blocks. They were FUN to make and not as hard as I thought except when working with the directional. Had to pay attention a bit more :) :)
Yes they measure 8.5" x 12.5". I will post that above. for all to see. Have FUN stitching!!! Will be eager to see your first block :)

Fun block Teresa!!

Haven't made these before so wasn't sure I could join this month, but they went together quick and only one seam to match. Win win scenario!

Here are 4 (but possibly more after a trip to JoAnns!):
