Supper club. Mon, June 18

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Jun 18, 2018 2:36 am

Good morning from La Grande. Such s pretty area! We are at our friends house, parked on their property. There are spectacular views everywhere we look -mountains, valley, and more. I posted a photo of our rig yesterday in supper club. Tomorrow we move to the RV Park in town where the rally is held.

Today is very rainy but it should be 80’s and sunny rest of the week we are here.

For dinner tonight we are grilling chicken. I’m going to make baked beans. There is another couple here with us and I’m not sure what they are adding.

I got a text from Tina yesterday. She expects to be home from her trip to virginia with her dad by late today. Will be good to have her back

Good morning Mary, glad you made it safely to your first stop on your way. We are in S.C. Visiting our DD and grands. Met her new boyfriend....not so much. But I am praying this is Gods choice. Wouldn't be someone I would pick out for her. Oh well, just keep my mouth shut and a smile on my face.

We are having lasagna for dinner tonight. We leave for Michigan on Thursday for my great niece's wedding. On our way back here to pick up Luke we will meet up with DH sister for dinner. Should be heading home next Thursday . Always fun to see everyone, but so good to get home.

Hope everyone is doing great and the travelers are safe.

Love to all,

Carole

Morning all:

Yesterday was perfect weather, overcast, but warmed up to 80 degrees. It was nice to be out of the 100's temporarily.

We are leaving Saturday, June 23rd for our 2 1/2 week road trip up the coast of Calif, Ore, WA, to visit my brother at the top and enjoy the sights along the way. We will spend 3 days at Lake Quinault in WA hiking the redwood forest trails, and 3 days with my brother in Pt. Townsend. Then we will meander back down the coast. So this week is all the preparation of the house and garden for being neglected for 2 12 weeks.

DH has also put me in quarantine for this week. He doesn't want me exposed to any bugs and getting sick again before we leave! The tomatoes are coming in fast. DH thought he had 3 big tomatoe bushes and 5 cherry bushes. Turns out he has 7 cherries and only 1 big bush. I wonder how cherries puree for spaghetti sauce. We shall see. Also put up another 3 quarts of dried peaches, nectarines and apricots.

Not much else going on, just the usual gardening and housekeeping. I am getting the tank top tan from being outside so much.

Today is my little quilting group in the pm, so that gives me time to clean the kitchen and stove this morning. DH makes such a mess, but his food is so good.

Have a wonderful week and stay cool.

Carole and Linda and Becca and Mary, it is so nice to hear about your goings on. We are in the 80's, and wilting. I couldn't stand those hundreds. Such travels. I like to hear about your trips, and think about where I would like to go. Becca, it sounds like your children really thought about what you two would like.

I am not sure about supper. We have some leftover chicken strips. I was thinking about heating them with some leftover sauce and mixing in macaronis. Un fortunating, I think the sauce has white fuzzies on it. Maybe a salad, a veggie, and chicken strips. Oh, and watermelon. It has been in the fridge over a week. Needs cut up.

Enjoy your chores and your travels!

Good afternoon!

Just had a huge hail storm with half dollar size hail. Missed me, thank goodness. So that makes us very nice and cool. Probably be stretching to make the 80's.

Been sewing in the Batt Cave. Michael is working. So I can get things done. Matt will be borrowing our little truck for a couple of days. It just sits here and needs some exercise once in awhile. Matt's big truck needs to have the turbo fixed and several recalls. All warranty work.

We were hoping that Daniel was coming in a couple of weeks, but his work load won't allow time off. One of his team has cancer and is under going treatment. So Daniel is picking up his load. California is finally picking up the pace of building new schools and hospitals, so Daniel has a backlog of design work. This will cut into his fire fighting as well, may be a good thing, I won't worry as much! LOL!

I almost have the baby quilt top done. Just deciding if I will add the prarie points and finish it before I put it on my LA. Leaning that way. Just a simple loopy loop for the quilting, nothing fancy.

Dinner - grilled salmon, veggie and a salad. I will add a lemon dill sauce with the salmon.

Enjoy!

Good evening! Guess I have been absent from the table, but we’ve definitely not been starving!
The wedding Saturday and reception and party Saturday night went off without a hitch. It was beautiful—good food, friends and family. DH’s family all came in early Saturday, so I didn’t have a chance to get here to visit with you. My DD and family came for the wedding and back for the party after they visited other family in between.

Sunday morning was brunch—a huge brunch with most of the relatives as well as friends at the party site. Everyone pitched in and helped clean up and get things back together. More good food, family and friends! I did laundry the rest of the day yesterday.

Today we painted at the little house. I think the painting is complete—until we see something we missed. It sure looks much cleaner! Still have cleaning to complete to have it ready for occupancy July 15.

Dinner tonight was some of the leftovers from the reception party—pulled pork, green beans and potato salad.

Mary—sounds like you are having a fun time and more to come!

Jana—I was wondering if Daniel was still fighting wildfires. I didn’t realize it wasn’t his primary occupation. So glad you missed the hail. Love the cool off after a storm… too bad it doesn’t last long!

Pam—we are in the 90s and wilting! Heat index is in the 100s. I like hearing about the travels, too. With rentals, cattle and dogs, we don’t get off the prairie very often.

Becca—Sounds like you had a lovely Father’s Day at your house! I love fuchsias! We had trees in San Francisco that were as tall as a house. Humming birds loved them. It’s almost too hot here to keep a hanging basket of them alive all summer.

Linda—stay well for your trip! Sounds like you will have a lovely time. A respite from the heat is always welcome! Know you had a fun quilt meeting. I think it’s so neat your DH is the chef!

Carole—good to see you! Sounds like you are busy traveling, too! The second wedding reception will be held in Michigan in July. The groom is from up there. Lots of family and friends from here are going for it. I’m not sure I can get DH to go, so we probably will stay home and take care of everyone’s animals. Good luck with the new boyfriend.

I’m going to do a few chores and pay bills here. Then the hooligans will walk to Choc’s and put her inside for the night. We’ll get up and walk again and let her out in the morning.

Have a great evening!
