Christmas swap 2018 tracking #'s posted

Good morning
Sorry I've been MIA, I've been working on a couple things back to back for about a month....I'll fill you in as soon as I can. And I've got to get my samples posted too, sorry about that.

I have to admit, I was mistaken in my figuring for background.

I was so pleased with my swirls, too. I got all the pieces cut out for the snowmen, and realized that there is not enough left for the frames around them. I considered making the frames a different fabric for a second, and said no way. It wouldn't look right. Who in their right mind plans one yard of fabric for the background on 12, 12 1/2" blocks???!

So, I tried to figure out what shop I got it at. Mom and I went on an 8 shop hop bus trip, where I got the fabric. I ended up texting a pic of the fabric to 6 of the shops. One, I looked at, and it wasn't there. Everybody denied having the fabric. The shop that was left, said they didn't know how to get pictures on a cel phone. My husband and I went on a road trip 1 1/2 hours away to check them out. No luck. On the way back home, we checked out a couple of the other shops, just to be sure. No luck. I tried googling the fabric and the manufacturer. No luck. I gave up, and got three yards of a replacement fabric.

Long story short, my background is now black with little white dots on it. Unfortunately, I cut up most of the other fabric, so it is garbage. ARGGH.

Luckily, they will still be cute, just not as swirly as they woud have been.

Oh Pam, I'm so sorry. How weird that none of the shops said they carried it, a Twilight Zone experience for sure. I'm so glad you found something you liked though.

Tina, I am passing by to say that I have mailed my blocks this morning. I just hope my snowmen won't melt <giggles>.

Pam, I am sorry you couldn't find the same background fabric. But don't say that the other fabric is garbage. You can still use it in a scrappy quilt.

I know I haven't posted my sample block and I have to apologise for that, I'm very sorry. I've been working on back to back comfort quilts and had to set them aside. I have a couple more comfort quilts to do so I'm just hoping I hit my own deadline for my swap.....it would be very bad if the hostess gets a strike in her own swap! I'm trying my best. That's my update.

Finishing up the snowmen, Should be finished in a few days. Worried they will melt in this Florida temps,

I have been plugging away on my snowmen. Mom says, how many pieces are in these?..! She thinks it is ambitious for a block share. I think they are cute.

I'm hoping this weekend will be in my favor so I can get my snowmen in good shape, maybe not totally done but almost at least.

I can hardly believe how fast this summer is going by. It won't be long till we will be getting these cute snowman blocks back. 11 days to get them to Tina. Woohoo!
