SUPPER CLUB - Monday, May 21st

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon May 21, 2018 3:43 am

Good morning!

LYN - I am on to you, girlfriend! And I have a pretty good idea of where you live - so you better behave!

JANA - sorry you are losing your nice neighbor. But you may get an even better neighbor! Your sunflower sounds like there's lots of opportunity to go wrong. Look at it through a camera. Take a picture and study it. Things always look different in photos. We use Superior thread almost exclusively here. Love it. We order it about 10 cones at a time.

BECCA - Isn't it nice when the house and yard work is all done and you can sit back and admire?! Does your DH take blood pressure medicine? If so, he should probably halve the dose until he can see the doctor.

PAM - enjoy the movie! I love that you enjoy your parents so much!

IRISH - nice of your neighbor to provide you with such a pretty 'show'! That poor baby eagle! Glad Mom and Dad are on guard. At our RV Rally, we park right beneath a big osprey nest on a tall pole. Last year, we got to watch the babies learn to fly. Our next trip is to the Rally. All travel plans are, of course, subject to sudden change, depending on Bill's brother, but the next time out is June 16-July 7. We'll be at Rally in La Grande, OR the first week, and tooling around Oregon the next two weeks with friends. We'll see Crater Lake, Sisters, and the Oregon Coast. And then we're leaving here Sept 3rd - 26th for UT/CO. I am bummed that your travel dates aren't coinciding with ours. We need to be in southern UT Sept 6 to drop off our ATV and the little trailer it rides on, then over to Denver for a week (Seahawk/Bronco game is Sept 9) then back to UT for ATV Jamboree for a week. Man, this paragraph makes me tired to think of it all!

Tonite's supper will probably be something grilled - chicken maybe. And cheesy potato packets, also on the grill. Plus a salad or at least sliced tomatoes on the side.

What's the supper story at your house?

Good morning from sunny, warm, gorgeous, SW. Pa...A perfect day to get outside stuff done so why am I not outside?????

Mary, Just reading about your travel plans make me tired also....Was also thinking about Riley and hoping for the best....Baby Girl decided she was going for a short run this morning.. About the only time she goes out is if I carry her and then we only stay on the porch but lately, she thinks she should be on her own, on the porch...Well, this morning, as I was coming in the door, she went out and actually started up through the yard..But, she is so darn funny, she's afraid and cries the whole time..But she also knows she's doing something bad and when she gets back in the house, her head goes down and she looks so sad....I just don't want her getting used to running out..Little Kelly hides when we open the door, lol....

Not sure what all I'm going to get accomplished today...I do have the sheets on the line and hopefully get them back on the bed as soon as their dry..I also need to do some errands, pick up RX, few groceries etc. Tomorrow there is an early Mass for Jim so I'll be running in another direction....
Yesterday I did so enjoy seeing and hearing our friend, Cahal Dunne...He's been on the road for awhile and hadn't heard about Jim so he sang me a special song, "I Believe" and it really hit home.....Then I stopped at Subway on the way home and all was good.....
While I was gone, Nick had stopped down and another friend had called and wanted to go to see the movie, "Book Club"...Hopefully, we'll get together some time this week.....

As for dinner tonight, that depends on what I find at the store...Right now, nothing sounds good......

Need to get busy.....You all have a great day......

Happy eating...............

Good morning :) I can't believe it's been a full week since I've been on here! The chicken coop is almost done! Good thing, we've got a new chick hatched this morning, it'll be ok in the incubator till this evening. I had so many plans for today.....Easton tripped over my foot and I don't know what he did but I've got a huge bruise at my toes and foot and it swelled, I put an ice pack on it and have it elevated right now.
I made ribs on the charcoal grill last night but used pecan and Mesquite wood, they were so yummy, Dad loved the spicy sweet rub I used....we all did LOL I went out at just before dark and roasted me a marshmallow :) I'm not sure what's for supper....maybe banned food and leftover Cole slaw.
Mary, how's Riley?
I read this post weeks posts to get caught up.
Chickie, are you done with the rental? I don't know how you stand to clean up after them. When I was a maid at our Holiday Inn when I was 18-19 years old,I couldn't believe how nasty people could be! Of I stay in a hotel,to this day, I pick up everything, gather the garbage, put all my towels over the side of the tub, strip the bed and clean as much as possible without cleaners LOL I'd hate for a maid to think badly of me.
Irish, you need to meet up with Mary and Bill on one of their trips, they are wonderful people :)
Jana, I hope you get a good neighbor.
Becca, you have a large family, so glad you enjoyed all the wedding things and family.
I gotta see if I can walk, the boys are wanting something to drink and I gotta take my pills.

Good morning ladies.
I survived! The granduation and party went off well, the houseful of company went ok, and the house has pretty much cleared out, the picking up is well underway, today leaves laundry and freezing some of the extras. And, of course, I am really tired! Told my boss that I need to come back to work tomorrow to rest! She is easily amused...
Our dinner tonight, leftovers, of course. Lots of ham, pulled pork, salads, dips and appetizers. I may not cook the rest of the week!
Have a good day....Becky

We are thinking maybe potato egg soup. Growing up, my friends thought that sounded icky, but we have always loved it. Nice potato pieces and egg rivlets. Sometimes, a little ham or onions or celery.

Good afternoon. I really don’t have anything nice to report (RENTALS!!!), so I’ll keep my yap quiet. I could eat a 5 gallon drum of ice cream with chocolate syrup if I had any. Mostly I just want to wake up in my next life and hope it’s without rentals! This is the worst ever for just walking out—I made DH get a dumpster and we can use it for both places in town (only a few blocks from each other).

Tomorrow we are mowing at 2 or 3 of them. One girl is moving out, and I have no idea how much cleaning will be needed there. It’s another yard to mow until it’s cleaned and rented.

Good info on the quilt and taking pictures! I can make such messes!!!

Pam—the soup sounds really interesting and should be good! Grandma used to make us “Eggs Goldenrood”. She used hard boiled eggs and chopped up the whites in a white sauce. We ate it over toast. She took the yolks and grated them over the top—a la goldenrod! We loved it and begged for it. It was poor people food, but so delicious. We lived on eggs and the frying chickens.

Tina—we have wild cherry and plum wood that people buy for smoking. Sometimes we have hickory and/or pecan. It does smell good! We won’t be finished cleaning for weeks. I’m so sick of them all!

Irish—I’d love to go with you to “Book Club”. It looks so fun, and women of a certain age!!! Hope you get to go soon and enjoy it. No doubt I’ll be waiting until I can get it on TV and record it for just me to watch. My DD and I used to sing “I Believe” at church. It’s beautiful!

Saturday at Mom’s I got my hands on those cute little kittens! You all would fall in love with them!!! I wish, wish, wish I could have them here! I’ll get to play with them at Moms, hopefully!

Becca—rental ordeal just getting started! Now there are three!!! I may not get here too much if we go in early to work.

Becky—I always had to go to work to rest. I’m wishing I had an office to escape to!!! Dinner sounds wonderful!

Dinner here—soup for me or yogurt. I’m waiting for a call from the dentist—hopefully this week (and I can escape from the rentals for an afternoon!). DH will have some left-over chicken. His sister came yesterday and spent the day and stayed for 2 or 3 meals.

I need to do some stuff around home, so best get busy!

Bon appétit!

Good dinnertime!

BBQ'd chicken and baked beans for dinner here. I have been hiding in the Batt Cave all day and sewing on projects. Stu came over and used his computer brain and double checked me on the sunflower quilt. It was right, so I have started the assembly, El's style. Sewing the vertical rows together and then I will put it back on the wall for another check.

I also got caught up with my webinar class block.

Enjoy,
Jana
