SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, March 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Mar 24, 2018 3:07 am

Good morning!

DD (Dear Dog) got us up at 4:22 this morning. And if Scott is ready to be up, there's no fighting it. So we're getting a nice early start to the morning. Albert went home from the hospital yesterday! Whoo Hoo! He didn't get home until after 7pm though. A 2-1/2 hour car trip that probably hurt with every bump. He was worn out. Al & June are leaving today and will stop to see him as they leave the state and report back to me how they think he's doing. Albert's kids all told us that they will be there for their dad and we are to go camping as planned. So we're going (unless things change drastically), but I'm packing a bit of guilt to take along.

thank you all for the birthday wishes! It was a really nice, low-key day. Purrfect! I did a little of everything I love to do. Except laundry. I don't love that!

BECCA - you always say the nicest things to me! Thank you! I'm so sorry to hear that Denise is sick. Didn't she get sick the last time she was planning to visit you? I hope it all works out for you and she's feeling better today.

CHICKIE - congrats on the newest baby! We'll probably be saying that many more times through the 'season'! The mac & cheese was awesome! There's enough left for one more helping. Hmmm.... Wonder who gets that . . . glad you are warming up! Did you see - I'm going to start in making a second FGV. Such a good travel/camping project.

IRISH - I never thought of donating old quilting mags to the library. Ours probably wouldn't want them. When I purge, I tear out patterns I think I might possibly want in future and donate the rest to the thrift shops. I do see packs of old quilt mags for sale there. Sad news about the eagle nest. Makes me cry. Darn raccoons!!

LINDA - sorry the rain is keeping you home, but sounds like you are making the most of your time. your yard sounds so pretty! I'm terrible with roses. I have 4 bushes that keep hanging on despite my lack of care.

JANA - loved the Ethan, cat, mouse story! The poor mouse must have been pretty confused!

VELDA - you sound ready to roll almost! Is your truck ready, too? It will be good to be back in IL. Your move is sort of my harbinger of summer days!

BECKY - I sure hope they figure out what is going on with your DGD. No fun being in the hospital, especially when you're a little kid.

TINA - you do sound busy! I've been wondering if all was OK with you. How is your dad feeling these days?

Well, I need to hang up and talk to my DBIL, who sits next to me every morning while I do my 'computing'. Since it's their last morning.

Supper is going to be leftover chicken enchilada casserole. and salad. No muss, no fuss.

And your supper is going to be???

Good early afternoon from a very sunny but still too chilly for me, but one of these days...............

Mary, you always have so much going on at your house, people coming and going, you coming and going, you guys are always in motion! Your "wake up alarm" sounds a little like Baby Girl..She will not let me alone in the mornings, sitting on my head, purring in my ear, kneading on my chest, anything to get me up..But, then, shortly after, she's right back, stretched out on that bed...I can imagine how worn out Albert would be from that trip back home, I wouldn't want to move for at least a week...But, you do need to get away, you deserve some quiet, relaxing time.....I have gone through all of the magazines and have taken a few patterns, not that I'll ever get them done but you never know...

Tina, I was also wondering what was happening in your neck of the woods...But, there you are, busy as ever...And your weather sounds heavenly.....

I have been noticing signs of spring...Under all our snow, there are some of the sprouts starting to push through...I am getting a little edgy, wanting to get out there and play in the dirt...I think my 1st project will be going to the cemetery and taking care of Jim's grave..I want it to be special...
But, today, is still a "stay inside day" so might do the kitchen and bathroom floors that have been neglected....I did have a call from Dan, Kathy's DS and he needs a cat sitter for next week..He and Casey are off to an island for some snorkeling...So, I'll get to spoil some more fur kids...
Not sure what dinner might be but I know, there's still a couple of bags of popcorn in the cupboard if nothing else falls from the freezer....

You all have a great day.....Do you believe, Easter is only a week away?????

Happy eating..................

Eagle Update: We have a baby! The little one hatched last night and came out of that shell hungry and I think has been eating ever since....Both parents were "shoveling" bits of fish into it's beak this morning and you could almost see it grow....The other one will really have some catching up to do when it hatches.....But, this little ball of fuzz is the sweetest little thing you've ever seen....

Good morning!

Sarah stopped by to snag some extra wood for something at her house. Besides having a fabric stash she raids, her dad has a wood stash she raids as well. Her greenhouse is getting the plastic put on it today, so it becomes operational for our gardens.

Uglies aee caught up and yesterday we found 2 pieces of fabric for my log cabins that go with the burgandys. Also found a cream/gold for the borders. So that top is set for class. Now to finish cutting the strips and get caught up.

Also found a adorable flannel for another receiving blanket. Now to get the holes put in the edge, then add the crocheting. I use a special stitch on my machine with a wing needle to make the hole - spaced evenly to do a crocheted shell. TV project.

Dinner - enchiladas with our favorite mole sauce. Our neighbor brought home to us some from our favorite Mexican restuarant in California. Since he is the captain, he can bring whatever he wants on his flights. Since we love this sauce - it is addicting, Sarah and I found a recipe from the region of Mexico the owners of this restuarant are from and are trying it to see if it is similar or the same. We need to, as our neighbor possibly is moving to Arizona, closer to a home base for his airline and he could be home more with his family. Sad face - we love them!

Well, need to get busy!

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello Ladies.
A wet, cold windy day here. Very yucky.
Our DGD gets to come home, maybe tomorrow. No diagnois yet, but she is on a gluten free diet, and lots of meds. Haven't heard the particulars yet, but she will go back into her doc this week, after a battery of testing, so maybe they will know something soon. She was very cranky last night! Reminds me of my sister when she is sick. Ha....
We do have a couple pretty little daffodils that were brave enough to stick their necks out this morning.
Tonight, we have pork chops in the crock pot. Will put over some egg noodles and asparagus and salad...that should do it....have a great weekend....Becky
