SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Feb 10

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Feb 10, 2018 2:56 am

Good morning!

Happy Weekend! Yesterday we did a few errands and stopped to buy rhodie food. When we got home, I thought it was a good day to feed all the rhodies, lilacs, forsythia, azaleas, etc. Well, one thing led to another and before I knew it, I'd been working in the yard for 3 hours! Got a lot done but boy was my back sore last night! In late afternoon we built a campfire and sat out for about an hour. Nice day.

Today we're going to Seattle to the RV Show. Just for fun. My DD and SIL are going, too, though they will go by ferry from Bremerton and walk up the hills about a mile to the show. We'll meet them there and then cruise the rigs together. We enjoy going to the shows and the best part is, we always come away very happy with what we have!

BECCA - your poor friend. I hope you have her on the prayer list for the Pray-a-thon at noon today. Best wishes for your son, too. I pray once he gets through this rough period of his life, sunshine awaits him, just like Irish's boy, Terry.

TINA - what a nice evening you had!! We have an Applebee's here in G.H. but we've never gone! We keep saying we should, but they don't serve breakfast, and that's when we're usually eating out - mornings. When we are out for supper it's almost always to the Italian or Mexican restaurants in town.

CHICKIE - you mentioned the other day how few choices you have for eating out so that got me to counting places in our little town. I came up with 12 just in one shopping/business center and 9 more in the shopping center across the highway from that one! There are probably about 80 eateries from fast food to linen tablecloth places within a 3-mile radius of our house.

JANA - so? Are you going with Sarah to Yosemite? and how was dinner last night? I know it's early, but happy birthday in a few days!

VELDA - Glad you are having good fun with the RBR's!

BECKY - what's your plans for the weekend? You don't work weekends, do you?

We have scalloped potatoes left from last night but nothing else, except salad. Maybe we'll stop at Applebee's on our way home from Seattle!! Or pick up a take and bake pizza. Depends on what time it is. Scottie can only be left for about 6 hours without a potty break. And at least 2 of those hours will be spent on the road going to/from.

It's Saturday night! What are you doing?

Good morning!

Doing here? Same thing we do every day - try to take over the world!

Mary, read your question and it brought back that saying from a old Warner Brothers cartoon, Pinky and the Brain, the two lab rats. Many mornings, I ask that same question to Michael. LOL

Not much here, sewing on the dress. The dress part is almost done.

It is doing something weird outside right now, little white flaky things falling from the sky. Oh, that is what it is, snow! Just started.

Enjoy!

Good late morning from a still chilly, but getting better, Sw. Pa...Going up to close to 50 and after these past couple of weeks, that's almost summer, lol....But, will be a good day to freshen up Jake's (outside cat) cat house...

Mary, Your trip to the RV show sounds super and then to meet up DD and DH, that's extra special...I also vote for you stopping at Applebees, you will love it...Just don't go on a Monday and order their $1.00 Margaritas, they are terrible...Now the regular ones that are pricey are yummy....The girls and I were so excited one week, decided we'd drink our lunch, so to speak but ended up sending them back and ordering food, lol....
I have finally figured out why I don't have a dog! This business of having to go outside, IN THE COLD, just isn't for me and I don't think even Scout is liking it too much, lol...Poor thing, when I ask if he wants to go out, he sort of gives me that sad look as to say, "Gram, not until it's warmer"....Have been getting texts from Terry and they are doing everything and seeing everything they can..Did bobsledding and skating and today they're going to the ski jump site with promises not to try it....

Becca, I'm also sending good wishes to your son...With patience, there will be lots of sunshine in the future...I've never seen Terry so happy..And when I think of all those years he tried to do what was right, he so deserves every bit of that sunshine now....But, we can't go back or even wonder, just be thankful for what we have now...
I'm with you, wishing I could get outside and do something...But, I'm going to wait until Bill gets here and takes care of the garden...

Jana, hope that white stuff that's falling doesn't stay around too long...Our's is slowly disappearing, thank goodness...Birthday around the corner, sounds like a fun time coming, hopefully with cake.....

Today is ugly day in this household...Probably won't leave the house unless Scout and I go for a ride...He does like to go through the drive thru at McDonald's and get French fries..And each time he sees the car, he gives me "that" look...I'm sure not a fan of MickyDs but they do have Shamrock shakes....
I had another call last night and Jim had slipped out of his chair...There is a new law in our state banning all types of restraints, even the alarms on his chair and on his bed...I just don't understand the whole idea but in some cases, I can see how they are miss used...But, with more of the people where Jim is, it's mostly just to keep them safe...I'm going to talk to his doctor on Monday and try to maybe sign a waiver or see what we can do...Always something.....
And as far as dinner, might be the other half of the frozen pizza I had the other night...Or, on our little excursion this afternoon, I might also go through the drive thru at Subway (for myself)....

You all have a great day..........

Happy eating...................
