Feb 6 daily devotion

Genesis 6:9-22

Noah listened well. When God spoke to him, he paid attention. Genesis tells us that Noah" walked with God." What a beautiful way to say that Noah lived each day with an awareness of God's presence. Beyond that, however, Noah also obeyed. What God told him to do, he did. Noah obeyed even though God directed him to do something outlandish. How many insults, jokes, and sarcastic questions he must have endured. Yet he kept on task, obeying God's instructions. Today it is hard for us as a Christian to just say we are a Christian. We hide it or fear that our friends will call us Bible thumpers. Well, let me be the first to be called that for my Lord's sake. God has your back, He will be with you even when family, friends, and coworkers don't understand your faith or your walk with the LORD.

Prayer is more than talking to God. While that is vital, too many of us give God our list of requests and then dash off to our next task. What would our lives be like if we took the time not only to talk to God but to listen to Him as well? What if we then determined to obey what He tells us to do --- no matter how much our society might scoff at us?

Do you want to walk with God? Thin in your prayer time, listen carefully for His voice. You may just hear Him leading you in a new direction, with a new purpose, and with courage, you never knew you had!

Izzy What a joy to walk with the Lord & to be able to commune with him at anytime knowing he’s listening. Then we have to listen.Sometimes we may hurry away to another task but God wants us to commune with him & that means we listen.
Thanks Izzy for another wonderful devotional. May God lead us all.Amen. Becca

Izzy, Thanks for a big reminder to Listen as well as talk to or read the bible with God. Our lives get so busy, we may stop and pray but we also need to sit still and listen. I too needed this today, just as I do everyday. A reminder to put God first in our lives, He is in charge and HE will care for us.

Izzy, when I posted about all the problems with Rod, I told my sister, Marianne, that I had ask for prayer on QIAD. She went out there to see. She is always impressed with how many folks post msgs about prayers and their kind caring encouragement in time of need.

She also read some of your devotionals. And this is what she wrote back to me.

"You'll have to tell Izzy she has nice devotions on QIAD. It may give me some ideas for our Bible study."

She helps with a bible study up in Nebr for 12 elderly people in their church. They meet once a week in someone's home. You reach far more people than you realize, and through all of them, your ministry is going far beyond the folks on this website.

God bless you for all you do for us and so many others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing all you do. How you do it has to be by the grace of God helping because you do far more than most of us could even dream about accomplishing. But God uses each of us and our talents in a way to reach out to others. Thank you again.

Love and hugs across the miles, Shirley Mae
