Feb 2 daily devotion

Genesis 1 and 2

My devotions will be coming from the following book: The Power of Praying Through the Bible by Stormie Omartian. This book tugged at my heart as I read each day all the prayer needs on our site and with others, I come into contact with. I hope these devotions will help you build a better Prayer time in your life and each day. They won't be full excerpts but key points that I thought were inspiring. I will add to them. I encourage you to read the scriptures I post at the top. Reading your Bible daily and praying will help fuel your day with God's love and goodness.

Today we start at the beginning--God's creation--Man. What I took most from this devotion is that God Breathed life into Adam. It was God's action in giving us breath that also gave us the ability to speak. The act of breathing that keeps us alive is the same act that we use to communicate. We breathe out to speak. We are God's image bearers (1:26-27) We breathe and speak because of His breath given to us.

We should be in awe of the privilege we have to use the breath of life to speak to our Creator. We were made to communicate with our Maker. Even though we may not start out doing it very well. He still wants to hear us speak to Him. Just as we were delighted when our children said their first word, so is our God when He hears ours spoken to Him.

If your not sure how to pray, start off with these two simple words "Thank You" and then add what it is your thankful for. Keep starting each utterance to Him with "Thank you" and you will be able to speak to God for a good long time. I always end my prayers with "I Love You", God wants to also know that we Love Him too.

Go now start you a prayer journal, write down the prayer requests from this site, your friends, and the needs of the world as well as your own. Join Chriss on Prayerathon Saturdays here on the site and pray together, pray alone, but remember GOD loves to hear from you good and bad.

Hugs and PRAYERS

It’s a privilege to be able to talk to God each day.And be assured that he hears & answers our prayers.Maybe not what we want or ask for but what is best for us.
Every breath we take is a gift from God.We Have many reasons to be thankful & give him praise. Becca

I’m so blessed to have God in my life. Prayers work. Like Becca said you don’t always get the answer you want but you do get an answer. Sometimes you have to stop dwelling on what you want to hear him clearly.

It’s good to have God. It makes for a full and satisfied life

I try and talk to God every day and thank him for all he has done for me. Like the others said we may not get the answer we want, but God does always answer our prayers. Right now my big thing is praying for our country it is such a mess.

This was part of my message I gave on church last week. The power of prayer. One quote I used was, that we should teach our children the power of prayer, not just the routine of prayer. What a great principle that is.

When God placed Adam here on earth, He taught him to pray. We are taught to pray over all that He has given us, our families, our flocks, our lives, even for those that despitefully use us. Prayer is the conduit to our loving Heavenly Father. At times our prayers can bless us more when we seek to bless another, than for our own long list of requests. Those prayers become more meaningful.

The subject of prayer will be a great tool for studying the scriptures daily.

Very powerful message girls.

I also like 1John 5:14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
A Friend is God's way of making sure we never walk alone!
