SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Jan 22nd
Good morning!
I woke up early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so I was up at 0400. Kids were groggy but willing to stagger to their food dishes for breakfast. Now they'll start begging for supper about 2 this afternoon! lol! It's POURING rain out there. I hope it lets up soon as I have to go to the chiropractor at 10:00.
We finished painting the ceiling! yay!! We we had just enough paint. We got the job done but couldn't have covered another square foot. How's that for 'figuring'? We never got to the wall. Bill just said he was done and that was that. So we watched two football games all afternoon. Today - that wall. Then we are at a standstill until our wallpaper comes in.
BECCA - I bet it feels good to have real heat again. Glad you got some time with your BFF and I'm happy like your quilt so well you dragged it with you to share with her!
IRISH - you have really been through the wringer this past week. Seems you've been making regular trips through that wringer for quite some time now. I'm relieved to hear that Jim is 'home' again and doing well. And I'm particularly glad that Hospice is able to take some of the load off your shoulders. And you so deserve a 'down day' any day you want to take one! I hope you get together soon with your friend and get all caught up.
JANA - Glad your police action finally ended, but bummed the 'perp' got away. Hope the injured man will be OK. So scary! Did the police actually search homes? Yours? And how is Kate doing?
BECKY - I've been begging for a new faucet for years, too! On our utility tub in the laundry room (which is also Scottie's bathtub). I want a high faucet with a spray attached and a handle that you don't have to turn and turn and turn before any water comes out. Bill's answer to that was to cut a piece of old hose so we can thread it on there for rinsing soapy dogs. Maybe I'll go buy a faucet, it will be the wrong one, or course, and it will get him moving. AFTER all the stress of the painting project dies down, naturally. I can't flood him with too many things in one month! What did you do about your WOW border?
CHICKIE - You're like me - you make soups and 'hot dishes' that simply evolve. They usually turn out pretty tasty, though occasionally I've come up with a dud bad enough to cause me to call Domino's! Glad you got at least one nice warm day just so you could remember what it feels like. We were about 48 yesterday with wind and rain off and on and even a bout of hail. Today looks about the same. Getting any sewing done? Have you started the invitations yet?
TINA - yoo hoo!! Supper's ready!! How did your weekend go? Get Dad settled yet with full utilities?
I'll ask Bill his preferences when he gets up, but I believe I'll make pesta pasta tonite. We haven't had that for a long while. His other choices will be taco's or homemade pizza. All pretty easy meals.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Jan 22nd
Good morning! We are over 20 degrees cooler this morning with a blustery wind—how can a south wind feel like it’s right out of the freezer??? I went and took care of Choc and Maggie (Clean up on Aisle 6, 8 and 10!—Maggie has no control whatsoever), then came back to feed the calves. Pocket Lint came and brought all the cows with her, so she got feed and the cows got range cubes. The other little calves don’t come in the pen with her but hang out by themselves. Blondie and Annie were also hungry mouths as well. Then it was the birds and dogs…
I forgot to tell you that Saturday when I went to town, I drove down a mile of gravel road with no houses on my way to the highway. I saw the resident flock of turkeys—probably 20 to 24 of them crossing the road and congregating in a field. Then as I drove a little farther, six deer popped out from a field and crossed the road in front of me. I always enjoy seeing the wildlife!
Yesterday DH went over to the lake property and walked around looking for deer antlers. What he saw was much more interesting in my opinion—FIVE elegant white swans! Three were standing on some of the ice that hadn’t melted, and two were swimming in the water. He got several photos with his phone. I’ve seen the swans one other time… several years ago a flock landed in a field near here. They don’t stay long. We must be a resting and refueling stop on their journeys.
Mary—I did three invitations, and I really NEED to get started and GO on them. I didn’t sew much yesterday. It was pretty much all laundry and dog care. I still have Choc and Maggie through midnight today. DS will be home at 7 tomorrow morning. I like the idea of picking out the faucet, bringing it home and letting him deal with it—returning and re-doing! I wish I’d have put in a doggie spa sink (deep laundry tub). I had one in a former life.
Becca—I love my walks! It’s nice to get out and away. I have nothing to compare with you and Irish, but I just enjoy “my time” on my walks.
Irish—so glad Jim is back “home” where he is settled. So glad you will be getting even more excellent care for him! You definitely needed a down day for you! Glad you found your stove and have dinner for a few days. Have a meatloaf sandwich for me! I like mine cold with mustard.
This is short… I need to go work on the floors before DH returns from his geezer coffee. Dinner tonight… I have my yummy soup! DH may be treated to steak and baked potato. Or… I may scrap the whole thing and put some beans and ham in the oven. That’s really starting to sound good to me. We sure won’t go hungry!
Bon appétit!

Good morning from a sunny and spring like, SW. Pa...Mother Nature is being nice today, going close to 70 but then she'll be back to being nasty tomorrow with snow.....
This is just a drive thru, need to hop in the shower and put on some "go to lunch" clothes and then I'll go to visit with Jim.....
My day yesterday was sort of good...Not sure why, but my Sundays are always a bit sad but it was good to just be able to stay put...And my meat loaf turned out super and I'll have to wait to have that meatloaf sandwich...
Chickie, I like mustard on mine also with a little of my homemade relish.....And what sights you've been seeing...Often on my way home from seeing Jim, I'll have to stop and let a parade of deer cross the roads...This being deer country, we really have to be careful, always watching and hoping one doesn't decide to jump in front of the car....A friend of mine has a bunch of turkeys that roost in the trees in her back yard..Of course she's not too happy when they come to visit and leave her patio a mess....Seeing wild animals always makes me feel good......
Of course all things couldn't go smooth, my sister called and her DH was taken to the ER with possibly a stroke....Her last name is Murphy and we always say, you know about Murphy's Law!
Sorry to be so short but lunch is waiting....So far the reports from the Hospice nurse is good...I can't thank you all enough for all your special thoughts and hugs.....Will try to get back to you.....
You all have a super day.....
Happy eating......................

Good morning!
Mary - Kate is hanging in there. Gracie is trying her patience with potty training, but the new little one is staying right where we want her! We too watch Live PD. Always reminds me of a phrase Aaron used, especially in the snow, "don't make me get out to chase you"!
Irish - here meatloaf sandwiches have to have Miracle Whip, or DH won't eat them. Along with lettuce and tomato. A good day is just that!
Chickie - you got our cold temps and we aren't any warmer either - still just above the teens!
Becca - oh to has sun warm enough to sit outside in!
During all the excitement this weekend, a Amber Alert happened. Sarah's friend does the programming for the state and puts out those alerts on the freeway signs. She kept Sarah up to date and they did catch the non custodial father and returned the child to her mom.
I had Ethan here last night. He loves tacos, so we ate that and I have enough for reruns tonight. Now to get me in gear and get this talk on paper! Sunday willbe here quick enough!
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello ladies. Had my message all typed, and lost the whole thing. Grrrrrr!
Don't remember all I wrote.
Well supper tonight is smoked sausage. Something with it, but not sure yet.
Wish I could remember all that I typed as my message.
I enjoyed message about wildlife from Chickie.
Glad your painting is going well, Mary.
Heading to clubhouse to see with all my Quilting friends. We miss Lyn but she will be back soon.
