SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Eve, Dec 24

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 24, 2017 3:55 am

Good morning!

We're all ready to rock Christmas here! Just need to wipe down the bathroom and set the table. I put the leaves in it yesterday and gathered up all the extra chairs. Had to carry in two trailer chairs. The menu will be scrambled eggs and ham and homemade hashbrowns. Lara is bringing gluten free muffins, I think. and we have orange juice and coffee. We do a white elephant before breakfast and real gifts after. I'd like to sit around and play games this afternoon but I think they'll all skedaddle once the presents are done. So we'll probably spend the afternoon watching the Seahawks - Dallas game. Go Hawks!

TINA put an update on her mom on yesterday's Supper Club thread. We've got your back, Tina, and we're covering it in prayer.

IRISH - you really keep some late hours! Shopping at 10pm! I usually have my meltdown by 5:30. Bra comes off (I call that Happy Hour!) and jammies go on.

BECCA - so nice that your family is close and can help you with those rough tasks. My two local kids live 35 miles in opposite directions and rarely come this way. Fortunately, we are still able to do for ourselves. I guess when we can't we'll sell our place and move to a condo or retirement place. But sure not looking forward to that and we'll be putting it off as long as possible!

JANA - I hope you are in now for the entire holiday! I don't think we need anything at the store either. I can't wait to hear all about the puppy!! and the name! What breed?

CHICKIE - I know your life is B U S Y this entire weekend and tomorrow, too. See you on the flip side - after you recover!

I'm sure everyone will be gone by suppertime today so we'll either eat leftover chicken noodle soup or leftover hashbrowns and ham & eggs. I might make a white gravy to go with. We'll be watching Seahawks & Dallas this afternoon even if family sticks around. They are all fans. Though my youngest DGS has to be at work, 30 miles away, by 4pm.

You all have a beautiful Christmas Eve!

God morning!

The puppy is home! Matt took little Baden with him to get the puppy. The puppy rode in the carrier next to Baden, so when they got home, Baden ran into the house saying puppy, puppy, puppy. None of the kids had any idea what he was talking about. Then Matt brought her in and the kids were over the moon with happy. Tanner especially. He took the puppy up to play in his room, and she is very playful, a little too much and nipped puppy style at Tanner's pants, so he needs to be taught how to play with puppy. The puppy is a mini labradoodle, cream color, fluffy and very soft. A little female. Name being bantered around is Rosie, but Matt is not sure yet. So the little puppy will be at dinner at Sarah's along with baby cat, Belle. Different rooms, should be interesting! More of keeping the kids at the dinner table eating, than anything else. The fun continues!

Dinner is our tradional prime rib, which I cook, and the girls do the rest. Sarah f8nally has mastered popovers here in the altitude. The popovers never popped, but after years of trying different recipes, we figured it out! It is a surprise, as Matt loves them and we haven't told him yet.

Merry Christmas! May you and your families be blessed throughtout the coming year. You all are loved!

Enjoy,
Jana
