SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Nov 17th
Good morning! We are dry right now, but only 40'. brrr!! Not sure what the day holds. But if it stays dry, I want to put some lights in the yard. We have the roofline outlined in LED rope lights and they stay up all year, just not turned on except for holidays. Not my favorite but this way Bill doesn't have to do the lights and ladder routine every year. Which he hated and was always major grumpy for days afterward.
Yesterday we met my brother, Al, for an unplanned lunch halfway between our houses. He lives 2 hours from us. He is worrying about his bladder/kidney cancer, is having a renal scan next Monday and might be facing the removal of his bladder and one kidney. Plus, he worries about who will care for his wife, Barb, if he doesn't survive. She really can't function well on her own anymore and he thinks she would have to go into an assisted living facility. They are 78 and 81 and have been married for 59 years. Anyway, we are trying to spend more time with him, and we'll be driving him to Seattle for treatment next month. What kind of treatment has yet to be determined. His son is the one who had the brain tumor surgery last month. And he went to back to work! Only for a few hours a week, but it's a start! And he drove himself yesterday!
CHICKIE - I hope you got some sewing time in yesterday. Your 'fans' are all such sweeties when they gather at the fence! How are Blackie and Lint doing? And Blondie and Annie? Are they still getting bottles? Scottie gets Dentastix from Costco. We buy a box with 6 bags in it - 18 stix per bag. Each stick is about 6" long and sometimes I break it in half. There is an assortment of flavors, but Scottie would gulp them down if they tasted like cement! lol! that box is about $26.
LINDA - sorry your hubby has a tough time with social situations. That must make it hard on you, too. Is he happy with the sun room now that you have it all fixed up? don't forget pictures! We wanna see! You make it sound like a winter oasis.
BECCA - sorry I got you and Linda and the naked ladies mixed up. In my defense, I was typing awfully early and without my coffee. and sometimes, Riley, always at my side, reaches up a paw and types her own commentary! I hope your massage helps your neck. Doing handwork, or several hours at the sewing machine, especially doing applique work, really mess up my neck.
JANA - I am so sorry about Perry! I know how much you loved him. He's been part of your life for a long time! They leave such a hole in your heart. You truly have my sympathies. Our Riley is almost 19, too, and I know we'll be facing the same thing before long.
TINA - you can make tamales?? Your family just keeps getting luckier and luckier!! Did your mom make it to her dr appt yesterday?
IRISH - amazing how things get put into perspective, isn't it! You concentrate on what's REALLY important and the rest will fall into place. Jim is a lucky man to have you!
My computer is acting funny so I have to wrap this up and 'reboot'. Not sure what that is, but Bill says I gotta do it. Tacos never happened last night since we had that impromptu late lunch with Albert, so that might be tonite's fare.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Fri, Nov 17th
Good morning!
It is raining and snow is expected between 10 and 11 am today - the proverbial they cannot ever get the weather right around here and they are predicting snow at a certain time? LOL!!!
It is a sad day around here - thank you for your wishes. Surprising at how quiet the house seems.
Dinner - I have a little soup left and some pork that I can scallopini or leave as a roast for dinner.
Sarah is here and we are painting on some Christmas decorations - tole painting.
Enjoy!
Jana

Hi all
Mary, yep mom made her appointment and all is was for wad for him to tell her she needs surgery which she already knew from her Dr and then he said he'd have to call her heart Dr and see what they can do because Mom can't be put under, she won't survive and they now know that for sure since she had that last surgery and technically died, they don't think they'll be a second chance like that again.
I hope your brother gets good and fast help, the testing and waiting in between is crazy I think especially when dealing with cancer. Your brother sounds like the way my dad feels, he doesn't want Mom to go into any assisted living facility, she probably would be gone within a month from a broken spirit and heart.
I do make tamales LOL I give most anything a try. ... it's bad for me though. .. if they like it that's means more cooking. .. I'm crazy LOL
Jana, I love snow! Ours doesn't last very long here.
Becca, I'm not fond of shopping in crowded stores either. Thank you ♡
I'm making salmon patties for mom and dad and maybe me if there's enough, Frankie hates them so I'm not sure what he'll be eating yet. I moved the new soup to tomorrow night
Sunday tamales!
Tina
