Hey All,

Each month I keep hoping life will let me participate. October is no different. I have back to back tests Monday and Tuesday of next week, 3 customer quilts to quilt, and training for the new in SC job. Hope everyone is enjoying fall, the weather here is finally supposed to come down out of the 90's. I love the block this month, even though I will have to buy some background fabs to be totally scrappy. Actually, I love everything about fall, not just this months block. Truly hope everyone is having a great week and will have a fabulous weekend!!

Hugs,
Linda

Oh, also, favorite pie is Apple (any kind of apple((deep dish, caramel, lattice crust, traditional crust)) you name it. Nope, don't make my own crusts. Maybe after I retire (Martha Stewart makes it look so easy).lol

Hugs,
Linda

Count me in for a few. Katy

My favorite pie is home made apple. Yes I make my own crust. And get apples from orchard. Gonna try knew crust this fall. Since I am determined to learn to cook better. LOL

This looks fun and I need a fall quilt! Count me in, Teresa! And my favorite pie? Hmmm... Sour cream lemon. It was also my brother, Jim's fave, so whenever I have a piece, I remember the secret smiles we always shared over our pie. But I also love raspberry pie. I have been making my own pie crust since I was 10 yrs old. My mom taught me to top all of my crusts with a cinnamon/sugar mix. Yum!

I'll be making some more in the middle of the month. Kind of hectic right now. Ziggy Zag Ziggy Zag all the way.

Joan

Lemon Meringue is there something other than homemade crust?

Welcome Joan!!! WE have all month so no rush at the moment. Lemon Meringue is one of my favorites but I have never been able to make a homemade crust that is not dead weight in your stomach - LOL!!!

Welcome Mary!!! Happy to have you back with us. Hope your ATV trips were FUN!!! I know you mentioned wind one day. Your wind was probably a breeze to us. I have never heard of a Sour Cream Lemon Pie. Can you shre your recipe? I LOVE Sinnamon/sugar crumb toppings!!!

Welcome Katy!! Welcome back as well! Ever since I made Rob and Apple Pie that is always what he wants. He said it was better than his Mom's - WOW! He won't even eat an Apple Pie from Marie Callendars. My heart really swelled. I have have a box of Jonnagolds waiting to be made into a pie and some to freeze for a pie for the holidays.

Welcome Linda H!! Martha Stewart makes everything so easy. I should have invested in her company!!! The top on my Apple Pie is a crust with tiny little apples cut out of it and then placed all around the top. Thank goodness for templates!!!

I went over to Marta's and Jamie's house today looking for some fall fabrics to trade with them. I got lucky on the Light tans but I still need to go shopping at Debbie's tomorrow. 5th Saturday is hot for FQ's.
HAPPY SCRAPPY HUNTING and STITCHING!!!

I need to check and see if I have this many fabrics. I doubt it. Will look next weekend when I bring my fabric to church for sew day.
