SUPPER CLUB - Friday, July 28th
Good morning,
Just a quickie this morning - I have to hit the shower, finish packing, go to early chiropractor appointment, and then we'll be on the road.
CHICKIE - we need to change your name to "Calf-ie"!
SHIRLEY MAE - howdy!
IRISH - what are you doing in the bathroom that you didn't get finished yesterday?? Or should we ask. So sorry to hear of your friend's loss of her DD.
CAROLE - I wish we needed a 40' motorhome! But we're good for now, thanks.
JANA - hope you didn't have to travel too far between your Joann stores. I believe they will send it from store to store for you. I've been in your Joann's just off I-15, not too far north of IKEA! In fact, I've been in your Costco, too!
BECCA - did you get your blood work drawn yesterday?
Supper tonite - I'm combining leftover rice and chicken from last night and I think we'll have green beans and watermelon, as well.
Hoping you all stay cool and fed while I'm gone. Gotta run!

Good morning!
Mary - one Jo Anns is by the IKEA, the other is up the road at Redwood road and 5600 south, about 90 blicks apart. But remember, here 8 blocks makes a mile, so they are aways apart. But we got all the fabric and she found a match for a couple of her dining table chairs too. Enjoy Yakima! That name always cracks me up. We now have a Costco on this side of the valley, right near Matt's home.
Not much planned here -Sarah wants to use my long table space to cut her drapes out and sew them here sometime today. She likes to make the mess at my house, so hers stays clean! PILL she is!
Dinner is a tri tip sandwich with the leftovers from last night.
Enjoy!

Hello everyone,cloudy with some showers.
Maryz I got BW done & Dr said it's now 1.2 last wk it was 1. She give me a choice since it had come up slightly.Go now to Hematologist or have BW in 2 wks to see if it's up anymore.I choose the 2 wk BW.I told her I don't want to be foolish but didn't want to see Hematologist any I don't have to.She said he will probably do a bone marrow test.
Happy camping.
I sure hope our car is something not too hard to fix.We take it on Monday morning.
Jana You know it's always easier to do it at Mamas house.lol Brought back memories to me.
Irish Sure hope your sister feels better soon. And you find Jim much better today.Has to be hard to leave him but you are so strong. My DH told the Dr this morning if anything happened to me he would have to go to nursing home.I know his mind would be worse there.
Chickie I fix my corn on the cob in shucks in microwave also.Love it that way.But when I froze it I cut it off first ,then cooked it then cooled it & packed in containers.Quite a big job.I want to know how your corn taste that you freeze in the shuck.I never tried that way.
Shirley Mae Hope your rain & flooding is better today.Thats scary. And Prayers for you both.
Carole Hoping your day is a good one & doggie is better.
It's Turkey sausage ,real man n cheese & corn on cob for me.I stopped at the farm & got some fresh corn, tomatoes and okra. Will make okra soup tomorrow.Only good with fresh okra. Happy eating. Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, July 28th
I’m here, I’m here!!! Just hit the floor running today and forgot to check in… Last night we had almost 1.4” of rain!!! When it clouded over and looked like it was going around us once again, I got out and did a rain dance. Within 10 minutes, we had rain! Either I scared the rest of it off, or I pulled what little we received in to the farm, I’m not sure; but north of HWY 400 (1.25 miles from us) they had 4.5”!!! I’m just grateful for what we received, and the pastures are already happy!
I was in working on baby bibs when DH came home from coffee early, so I made brunch, then the dogs and I walked to see Choc and Maggie. It’s still miserable out—hot and sticky—nothing changed there. I was a hot, melting mess when I returned. DH checked the garden and brought in our first cantaloupe. I cut it up, then took everything to the compost pile. The melon is delicious!!! As I was coming back from the compost pile, I checked my tomatoes and picked several. They will ripen on the counter for a couple of days, but they are safe from nighttime marauding varmints and will be on MY table, not theirs!
“Calfie” is pretty cool… I seem to be taking care of calves these days instead of chickens. I’m definitely not a “chick” any more—not that I ever was! I’m not a calf, either…
Mary—have a fun weekend!
Shirley Mae—the kids are in KC. They had lunch at a BBQ joint that DSIL had seen on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. They said it was delicious! DD had a BBQ sundae.
Becca—I have no idea what part of your blood they were testing, but don’t delay whatever you need. Good luck with your car, too! DS1 always throws his corn in the freezer, shucks and all—usually in boxes. They throw it on the grill or in microwave. I’ve never done it in the shucks before, but I figure it will probably keep better and not get freezer burned. I don’t see any problem with it—still has “SUMMER” memories.
Jana—when my sister sews, she goes to Mom’s house, too. Dinner sounds yummy!
I’m working on bibs again today. This one looks like a little shirt with a collar and an appliquéd tie. When I finish it, I’ll start on girlie bibs. Dinner tonight here will be red beans and rice, sausage, salad, corn on the cob if we go get some more, and melon for after.
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Friday, July 28th
I am late today but I do have a good excuse.....Early this morning I picked up the meat/cheese tray and stopped to drop it off at my friend's, who wasn't home...About an hour later she called, told her I'd be up and then that short visit ended up being coffee and talk...I had to leave because another gal was picking me up for lunch...So, off we went to a new place and of course it was delish...Coming back, I rode with another gal and we then stopped at the Funeral home and she brought me home....
So, needless to say, the house is a mess...Still not finished in the bathroom but tomorrow is another day....
Mary, I change everything, curtains, rugs, shower stuff, everything is going from celery green to a pretty pink...When I wallpapered, I put on a small floral pattern with both green and pink so I could change....
Becca, I think I'd too be reluctant to go to another doctor...I'd love to be able to shuck the bunch I now see, along with the meds...But, will be praying the count goes the right way, up right? ...AND the charges on the car go down...
Chickie, I'd be interested in hearing how the corn, frozen with the husks taste...Years ago, when we tried to freeze corn, no one cared for it, unless it was cut off the cob before freezing....Hey, you'll always be our "Chickie"....
Well, still haven't changed my clothes...Today is Terry's birthday (baby is 52) and hopefully, will be getting a visit from him later...If not today, tomorrow for sure...I'm almost afraid to sit down for very long, this time of day, I fall asleep very easy....
For, dinner, I did bring half of my grilled chicken salad home with me...But, if I get a call inviting me for a birthday dinner or even cake, you know what I'll be doing................
Have a great rest of the day......
Happy eating................
