SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, June 13th
Good Morning!
Don't tell me you all are still sleeping! ;o) I woke up about midnight and haven't felt sleepy since. so I thought I'd stop by here and see what was cookin'.
Yesterday was a pile of errands and appointments. Scottie spent the afternoon at the doggie spa. He looks like half the dog we dropped off only a few hours before! He is a hairy little beastie and he was getting quite poofy. I can only imagine what the pile of hair looked like that they took off him! Today - massage and light uglies. And maybe a little bit of time in the sewing room. At least to clean it!
BECCA - I'm hoping the next few days find you feeling better! We can't have you down during such a busy season!
LINDA - you sound like you are enjoying your visit! If that couch is too uncomfy, you might consider an inflatable bed. I hear some of them are quite comfy, inflate and deflate quickly, and fold into a box the size of a sewing machine when not in use. But word to the wise - they aren't all the same quality.
CHICKIE - I hope the pollen lets you alone today! Glad you got your tomatoes - at least some of them - weeded. I've about given up on my weeds. Once they get the upper hand, they don't let go! I'm thinking your Tinkerbell is a water spaniel! lol!
VELDA - sounds like it's too hot in the heartland to cook. Pizza is a good choice!
JANA - how do the kids like their new house? Are you still savoring your piece and quiet?
IRISH - tell us about your trip!
Tonite will be stuffed peppers again. We have two left. And a big salad. And we're still working on our watermelon.
How's it looking on your supper front?

Look at me! Wow, I am actually at the table early today!! But you know what?......I don't know what I will be cooking. Got my groceries yesterday and have plenty to choose from. With the heat, though, I want to keep the food simple. appetite is less and it's too hot to cook.
Maybe a couple of turkey burgers and a salad.
I want to sew a lot today, since we will staying inside with the A/C on. I brought some fabrics home from the church's project room. Plus, I want to sew a couple of rows onto my own quilt project.
Have a great day

Good morning! Moving this morning is difficult. After my weeding session yesterday morning, DH helped me, and we finished one tomato and asparagus bed yesterday afternoon. Thighs, back, buns, arms… all are protesting today. I’d like to work on the other tomato bed, but I’ve decided to stay in today. DH has a meeting this afternoon, and I can head for my sewing room! Plus, we are going out to dinner with Ava’s mommy and daddy this evening, and I want to enjoy it and not be stuffy headed. Pollen count is very high again. DGS helped DH with a rental roof, and he would rather go to dinner with all of us than take pay for his services. That definitely works for me and Meagan!!!
Mary—Had to laugh… do the groomers charge by the pounds of hair they remove? In my Hooligans’ cases, it would be by the pounds of mud they washed. It’s easier to give baths in the shower where I have some control than outdoors where it’s a free for all and I loose. Still, sometimes I do worry about the plumbing with the mud. Tinker Bell probably has Lab as well as other varieties although she doesn’t look “Lab”.
Becca—Mary works at times that only come around once a day in the afternoon for me. I don’t see how she does it. The older I get, the more sleep I require. So sorry about your DH’s diagnosis; I know you knew, but it’s still difficult. As I told Mary, the vet thinks Tinker Bell is part lab along with Shepherd and other varieties. I think there is Brittany or other retriever types as well.
One problem with Tinker Bell's love of water... she is no respecter of ponds for her bathing. She frequents the ponds the cows "bathe" in. I would prefer she found the ones they didn't "use". Any puddle or pond is a water wallow for her personal pleasure.
Vel—this heat is miserable! I’m never in the mood for cooking and less so when it’s hot. I like to make reservations best. Unfortunately there are few places to go, and at least at home I can watch what I’m eating a little better.
Today—sewing room for ISBS-Canada Sue. I’m going to try to get them at least fused so I don’t lose all the pieces before I quilt Mom’s quilt. Then—dinner out! So exciting, and I can make leftovers last another evening.
Bon appétit!

Good morning!
Sarah's house is getting grass this morning. No more mud! Ethan has staked out his spot to watch on her small deck. It has been raining all night and is cool and vloudy now - just perfect to lay out sod.
Later we are heading off to a couple of craft stores, looking for a kit to make cards. That is what I want to do with the activity day girls tomorrow. A lesdon on writing thank you's and having them maake a card or two to take home. I will have the big group of them tomorrow, next week we sew quilts.
Dinner - Michael has been waiting patiently for tortilla soup, so I will get that done for tonight.
Need to scoot,
Hugs,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, June 13th
Good early afternoon from sunny, hot, wonderful, SW. Pa....Yep, I'm finally back, I think!
We did get back in time to see the puck drop Sunday night and what a game...Of course we could have waited until the 3rd period, that's when all the action happened.....And then of course, Nick and I stayed up to watch all the end of game stuff and enjoyed every minute of it!
Becca, So sorry to hear about your DH..Even suspecting it doesn't make it any easier....Will certainly be keeping you and DH in my prayers..... Terry's house is in Reidsville, 20 miles north of Greensboro...The HS where Nick graduated from is within walking distance from the house...
Graduation was great, school had AC, speeches were short and it was just perfect...Nick will be going to Western Carolina, about an hour from Ashville and will be studying, what else, engineering.....For what the boys have been through, I'm so proud of him and his older brother...Terry has 2 great boys....
Mary, I've often wondered how you manage to get along with what little sleep you seem to get...I remember, years ago, we had a Schnoodle, named Suzy, and the 1st time we took her to the groomer, he practically shaved her all but that tuff on her tail and on top of her head...Well, she did look silly and poor Suzy was embarrassed and hid for quite awhile...Needless to say, we didn't go back to that groomer...Now when we took our Persian, Simba, to another groomer, they asked if we wanted a lions cut and it was a big NO...But, he would come home looking so darn cute with a bow in his hair and then he's strut around as to say, Look at me! Each fur baby has a personality of their own, don't they? And thank you so much for that list of fun stuff...After looking at it, I want to visit every one of them and I think Kathy has been to some of them....Jackie will have a blast!
Chickie, It's no wonder your muscles are complaining...That gardening stuff is hard work...My tomato patch consists of 8 plants, some planted in big pots, some planted in my flower bed....All I really wanted was a couple, just to get my daily fix of fresh ones but have a feeling, there will be more than I'll be able to eat and then I'll be making relish (my sister will be happy).....Enjoy your evening out....
Jana, thank you for keeping everyone up to date on my Penguins....It certainly was an exciting time....And what a great idea about the thank yous....Sadly, sending thank you cards is getting to be a lost art...Your girls are blessed to have you helping them.....
Not sure if I've ever mentioned Terry's dog, who wasn't too friendly towards us...Scout is a Norwegian Elk Hound and is absolutely gorgeous but just doesn't take to too many people...Well, we were a little worried about he and I making the trip in the same car, lol...Well, all it took was a bag of treats, a ham sandwich and some French fries and we're best buds...Going down, we stopped at the Gorge in W. Virginia and he wanted to be with me, not Terry...The whole time away, he was my dog, which really surprised Terry...
But, the trip was way too short but so much fun, even though we did work on the house...Terry has torn up most of the carpeting and is putting down wood or laminate and just on Sat. got most of the living room done (and it's a huge room)...Just has kitchen, dining room, hallway, 4 bedrooms and a huge family room to go, lol....But, like I said, it was a fun, fun trip.....Nick came back and is staying with me and of course I'm enjoying every minute...
I did visit with Jim yesterday but I told Nick, he didn't have to go...Maybe I'm wrong but I just want him to remember Jim as PapPap and not as he is now....
This morning I had an heart doc appointment, got a good report and to celebrate, brought donuts home....For dinner, Nick is meeting his aunt so I'm on my own and it might be donuts and a cup of tea, lol....
Now, I think we're going to try working outside...I also brought home more flowers and need to get some more mulching done...Nice to have a big strong fellow around, lol.....
You all have a great day....
Happy eating.................
