Good morning!
We are home! Our DGS happened to be here at the house, checking on things for us which was a delightful surprise for us. and he helped us carry everything in. And a bonus, Vicki must have been sleeping (she often does during the day) because we got trailer parked and unhitched and truck put away in the garage and she never showed. I am almost worried about her.
IRISH - Oh my, no one could ever call your life dull! Something is always going on at your house!! I hope your leg improves quickly. I feel for your poor neighbors. Hopefully they have friends or relatives who will come tarp their damaged roof until they can get home. I always wonder what it would be like if the big tree next to us fell on our house while we were gone. Being kind of in the woods, not sure anyone would notice. So happy your Terry has come home. Just knowing he is nearby has to give you an emotional boost. And I bet that list is going to be a long one, headed by a stairway to the upper window!
CHICKIE - congratulations to your Tasha! Amazing girls turn into amazing women and we need more amazing women in our society! Sorry about having to brave your awful rain to feed the babies. Are they getting 2 meals a day now? I bet they'd like a snack at lunch. I know my cats do . . . Happy sewing!
BECCA - I bet your yard is getting so pretty! Our rhodies are starting to bloom and we have a few fading tulips, but the weather has put everything on hold here. Just too cold! and for the next ten days it's to be low 50's and rainy. I have a flat of geraniums to plant, but don't relish going out in that weather!
JANA - I hope Michael's meds get straightened out quickly. sometimes, the same med, but dose adjustment is all that is necessary. did you get that elderly UFO finished?
TINA - what's the news from your neck of the country?
Today will be laundry and lots of it. changing sheets in house and trailer and hanging fresh towels. And probably not a lot else. I might sew something just because my sewing room looks too tidy right now. I also have to get a few packages ready to mail. My younger sister's birthday is coming up and I'm so not ready!
tonite's feast is going to be lasagna. A frozen one, not homemade, sorry to say. But that's the way it goes sometimes. with salad and garlic toast. Yum!
Now here's a unique request I am going to make of you all:
My son just finished writing a book. Still much editing to do, but he has high hopes for it and would like to turn it into a series. It is a light murder mystery (with humor) set in the PNW in January. His main character is named Crystal Wilde. He is now working on a title which he says is the hardest part for him. So far he has 3 serious suggestions and is asking all family and friends to vote. And he asked me to ask my friends. I think of you all as my good friends so maybe you could tell me which title you like best of these three.
Winter Takes All
New Year, New Fear
Snow Place to Go
He is also taking suggestions if none of these sound like they would intice you to read his book. He is planning the series, if it 'takes', to be seasonal/holiday stories so any other titles you clever gals might come up with will go on his list for future possibilities, too! Especially titles with a play on words or a pun. Mike is a funny guy, gifted at writing, and we're hoping this takes off for him. His day job is being an environmental chemist. thanks!
