SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Feb 28th
Good Morning!
It's not raining! Though it is 34* so it's not warm either. I woke up extra early this morning and got tired of laying in bed so I was making coffee at 0430. The kids demanded their breakfast and now they are all back in bed.
Yesterday was a pretty quiet day, just working slowly on some blocks in my sewing room, listening to an audio book. Then we noticed we'd made a calendar notation that the bloodmobile was at our grocery store parking lot, so we decided to make an afternoon of it. After all, they give out free cookies and juice! Though I thought it a bit much when Bill called it 'taking me out to lunch'. Today, maybe I'll get some more 'block work' done. Too cold to work outside, not enough laundry to do, vacuuming is done. There's nothing else to do but sew, right?
JANA - my sister's step-son says that buddy passes are all but discontinued now because, as you know, they are only as space permits. They've cut the number of flights so most flights now are filled. She doesn't even bother with parental passes. Hope Aaron feels better soon. When my son had his wisdom teeth pulled at age 19, he slept most of the afternoon but wandered into the kitchen that evening. He's almost 6 feet tall, and suddenly passed out and started to fall. Bill, only 5'7", caught him and gently lowered him to the floor. We got Mike back to bed and he stayed put until morning! Hope the kids' move happens as planned. Oooh, spiking kids' punch - not good! But at least they probably weren't driving!
IRISH - When Autumn got married, she told all her friend their kids were welcome. But she arranged a room with Disney movies, toys, books, and two babysitters for them. Worked perfectly! Sounds like Jim is sort of drifting, looking for something to do. I wonder if he would like jigsaw puzzles or maybe even Lego's. Both are popular with adults. Could you talk friend, Ted, into taking him for a drive one day? Or to a guy place like a car museum or just out for a burger?
BECCA - looks like those quilts will be ready in plenty of time for the twins' arrival. Though, twins do tend to put in an early appearance . . .
CHICKIE - still chuckling at my visual of you and Boomer doing yoga together! I woke up this morning thinking I should do a bit, too. How did my back get so stiff overnight? Sometimes I purposely make extra rice and then freeze it. It thaws and reheats beautifully.
Supper: always a conundrum at 0530. But I'm thinking I'll make spaghetti and put the last of the meatloaf into the spaghetti sauce. Plus, I have leftover spaghetti sauce in the freezer so I'll clean some leftovers out of there as well. Stop by and we'll share!

Good morning! What an early morning for you, Mary! I know you are an early bird, but…
Juice and cookies at the blood mobile… appetizer!!! Definitely not lunch! Sounds like you had a good day. You were lucky at Autumn’s wedding with the Children’s Room. Too many parents think their kids are perfect and should still go in with the adults (questionable if they let them) where they proceed to misbehave.
Irish—my girlfriend used to take coloring books to her dad and those felt posters where you color with markers. He loved them. He would be so proud when he completed one and the staff put it up on the bulletin board. Perhaps we could make Jim a fidget quilt???
I really need to go in and do some stretches again today. My back hurt less this morning. I’m sure I could have some good help again! I might try the rice freezing, although I eat it for breakfast and fix DH more traditional breakfast items. Since it’s brunch, I’m ready for lunch… I did a fried rice for myself yesterday, and it was delicious.
Dinner tonight… probably steak (DH), baked potatoes, vegetable and salad. Last evening, DH had a rib eye (more left for tonight) with traditional butter and sour cream, and I had my baked potato with sour cream, dill and broccoli. He thinks I have very strange tastes, and I’m sure I do. I like a lot of flavor and spices.
I’m going to go do some stretches and poses, then I’ll continue cutting out my fusible for my Sues. I’m looking at the Jacob’s Ladder block for lotto and really considering it…
Bon appétit!

Good morning
Yesterday Frankie stayed home, whatever it is we have he has worse plus a horrible headache... it must be bad for him to miss work so I don't say anything. He did go today, I'll see if he stays. We had fajitas last night and I'm thinking chicken might be tonight.
I love weddings where the kids are there too, never know what might happen LOL
I gotta run. .. I'll try to get back later

Good early afternoon from overcast, chilly, SW. Pa...
Mary, Bill sounds so much like Jim and the "lunch" deal..And then of course he would remind me weeks later that he had taken me to lunch...You know, I never thought of Lego's or even coloring books...We have a ton of Legos and boxes of colored pencils so will give it a try...We used to do puzzles but most of the time, some furry creature would get up on a chair and cause havoc with a paw...Might have to try it again....Just this morning, Donna, Ted's wife said, if I had to run out, just let them know....
I'm gonna scoot...Trying to convince Jim to get out of his jammies and get dressed so we can go for haircuts....
For our dinner, I have left over chicken and biscuits...And for afters, we have Girl Scout cookies.........
Happy eating.................

Good morning!
Don't have a clue about dinner - we will see what falls out of the freezer and says fix me!
Found out that our wonderful ex-BIL is getting married in June. This means a road trip to California. All of the kids re getting into the planning of going as well. This BIL is well loved by all here.
Matt is buying in a couple of weeks a new fifth wheel. He calls it a bunkhouse as it has a bunch of bunk beds for all the kids to sleep in. He has been looking for awhile, since he bought his big new truck awhile back. There is a camping show with all the sales in a couple of weeks, so that is what he is waiting for.
I have a quilt top in progress that I will turn into the wedding gift and I am working on a baby quilt and totally forgot that I am making two fleece blankets for Karlie for her naps at day care.
Time to scoot and get sewing!
Enjoy,
Jana
