I may change my mind and do this, not sure yet. DH is being sent out of the country for his job that leaves me to do a lot of things I don't normally do. Also need to get taxes done. May have to wait until April lotto.

Hi all, it's a very pretty block this month!
I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to need to win this month!!!!

I've been working on my sample block this afternoon and having great fun making it.
But, I've just noticed that I've placed the small blocks the wrong way around while piecing them together... 'Sew' I'm off to do some frogging!!
Just be really careful when placing out your wee blocks for piecing!!

Here are a few more wee tips I've also found valuable for making this lovely block...
Squaring up these 4 patch blocks and triangle blocks is vital to getting a well turned out finished block with all the points in the right places. I also cut my fabrics a tiny bit larger than required, this helped a lot when squaring up before piecing them altogether.

Teresa was great at helping me go through my fabrics to pick out the most appropriate colours & prints... Yes, even though we live 4,974 miles apart, (!!!) we were going through my fabric with a little help from Facebook messenger!

WOW-WOW-WOW!!!!! What a beauty this block surely is!!! You really caught the essence of what I was looking for. This truly does say SPRING!!! Will be perfect after you turned those HST's.
It was a lot of fun playing with your fabrics. Have to love the 8hr time difference!!! Now I need to do the same with mine!!! Hope mine come out as pretty as yours

Valerie- Hope you are feeling better. Hubby out of country? Sounds like an adventure. Prayers he will be safe and warm. Prayers you can get the taxes done and done! I have to say this year I was on top of the days and gently nagged Rob to make the appt early this way he could not drag it out. came to close last year. Family and life need to come first so do not worry if you can't join us this month.

Flo- That is the name of the game this month. Use up those scraps. Sometimes we just need a reason to go shopping!!! I only wish you had a FAB store close to you. I have plenty here if you want to come choose. We can do what Jacquie and I did!!! Do you have Face time???

No Jacquie - only the HST is facing the wrong way.
Look at the top left corner of the quilt and you will see....

the colored part of the 4-patch is going bottom left to top right.

The white parts of the 4-patch are going bottom right to top left.

The colored parts of the HST are turned into the center of the block.

You have it almost right.
Repost a picture of it the correct way and I will put it up top. Make sure you delete the incorrect one.

Velda, there is no set number of colors for each block. The blocks are all scrappy. Use as many prints as you like. A wonderful chance to use up some of those little scraps you might have lurking someplace.

As to the fabrics? Is it scrappy so pick out whatever flowers and coordinating fabrics you have and HAPPY STITCHING!!!! Keep watch for Mary's and Jacquie's blocks to get an idea and more clarity

Mary - WOWSERS!!!!! 8 blocks ready for the mail!!! I am envious of your ability for scrappy. Me? I take a bit longer. Thank you for the Pictures. They are BRILLIANT!!!! YOU ROCK!!!! How did you make your HST's? Did you use one of the techniques?? I have fallen in love with the 8 block method but will probably use the 4 as my scraps are smaller
