Catching Up

Post by dsf618 » Tue Feb 21, 2017 9:26 pm

Hey sisters! After many, many, many months of pain, anxiety and panic attacks, extreme fatigue, mood swings, etc I finally found two docs who listen to me. My primary doc left and I was assigned to a new doc. My counselor already diagnosed me with PTSD caused by 21 years of abuse from hubby 1, losing him, meeting my Bernie and then losing him. Doc sent me to a new Rheumatologist who immediately diagnosed me with Lupus, Fibromyalgia and Lymphedema. I am now on a med that takes 6 months to kick in. I have casts on my legs now for the Lymphedema and in one week I have lost a liter of fluid in each leg.

I am still waiting for my Disability hearing which supposedly should be held before April 2. I am having difficulty with my older sister who says there is nothing wrong with me, I am lazy and I need to get off the couch and get a job.

In the meantime I am quilting - a little every day unless it is a bad day. I have made quilts for friends' grand babies. I did not make a quilt for a benefit because no one did anything for me when Bernie died (just a little bitter and people thought I was terrible). But I feel like I am going crazy. My 22.5 year old son still has no job so finances all fall on me. My 18 year old daughter is a high school senior but the day she turned 18 she moved out and is living with her boyfriend and his family. Her SS survivors benefit that we are living on runs out in June when she graduates.

All this adds to the stress I am feeling. Thank God for quilting and me checking in here.

I am hoping to participate more and lurk less. I am looking for projects to keep me busy and may make some blocks for the comfort quilts.

That's for having me back.

Deb

Hi Deb. It's been a busy time for you. Lots going on in your life.

Glad you are taking charge of your medical care and are on the right path now.

You didn't mention Bernie's family, hope they are leaving you alone.

Glad you're sewing a bit. It can be so relaxing can't it?

Join us in the Sew In section. Check in daily and I promise that in no time you will see how accepted and cared about you are.

Take care,
Chriss
