SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Feb 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Feb 10, 2017 3:07 pm

Hi there! It's really Friday evening, but since we actually have real interenet tonite I thought I'd get a head start on things.

Tonite we're in an RV park in Winnemucca, NV. My sister used to live here for a year, managing the Motel 6 here. More than 30 yrs ago. I remember when we visited her once, my son, Mike, had just lost his tooth. He was seriously concerned that the Tooth Fairy wouldn't be able to find him so we helped him write a note and post it in the window telling the Tooth Fairy that he was at Motel 6 in Winnemucca, Room #1. And it worked! The T.F. found him!

IRISH, You seem to be demonstrating more patience than I'm feeling regarding a job for Terry! lol! What other family do you have close to you?

CHICKIE - I hope you and the Hooligans didn't blow away yesterday! And oh, yes, I'm here to verify that your Doyal is indeed, a cutie! No wonder you fell for him!

BECCA - It will be good to get those quilts done and ready for the little ones. I'm trying to remember if they are due this month or in May. I'm thinking May and that maybe you have another baby due soon in your family.

Tomorrow (well, today, really) we will skirt Boise, ID and cross the Snake River into Oregon and stay at one of our favorite ORE state parks right on the river. One of the well known camping spots on the Oregon Trail.

Supper - hmmm. Well, I have salad veggies and some leftover pasta alfredo so that will probably be on the menu. It will be the last supper we have in the trailer. Sunday night we'll be at friends in NE Oregon and Monday night we'll be HOME!

And what can I get for you?

Good Evening!

Mary - I have stayed in that Motel 6 in Winnemucca. A few times over the years coming here to visit family. Even hauled Aaron's truck from California and transferred it to Matt's trailer for the rest of the trip to Utah in that parking lot.

Also just drove that road to Boise area across the Snake River, right by where Evil Kneveil tried to jump the Snake at the canyon.

Be safe with all the flooding up in that area - there have been lots of problems with the roads and dams .

Talked to my Daniel - so far he is high and dry. The Oroville dam is just a short distance from him, and all the problems with the dam and spillway won't affect him. This is a huge dam - around 700 feet high and the spillway is totally destroyed from all the water they have to let out. The concrete on the spillway is breaking apart, in huge chunks.

Dinner tonight was pizza, tomorrow will be clean out the refrigerator.

Enjoy,
Jana

Hello everyone,
Maryz I was surprised you were so early then I read it was last nite.DGS that lives in WA has been having lots of rain & he said mud slides in areas around him. They first had snow for 2 or 3 days then the rain.
The twins are due in May but Dr told her it will be April or sooner.Told her to be on alert after Mid March. No more babies due that we know of.lol

Jana Have a great day with all your busy family.

I have no meal plans this early, but pizza may be on the table.Try to entice DH to eat.He would try to live on sweets.Ugh Happy eating to all. Becca

JANA - we saw the dam damage on the news last night. I'd sure hate to be living downriver of that dam! We should be OK on the Interstate. Our motto is, if we think there's a risk, don't do it. We are under no time constraints and can wait out anything.

BECCA - I bet, given where he lives, your DGS has seen a lot of all kinds of weather this winter! And why did I think you were having a new DGGB in February? Someone is.

TINA - how is your mom doing? How is your DAD doing?? Is the move on hold again?

Hi Y'ALL. Dancing was so fun last night. Maryz, glad your trip is going good. Soon be home again.
Becca: hope the twins arrive healthy and "Momma" too.
Jana: Enjoy the leftovers. When our kids were little it was six around the table, so never had enough leftover unless we collected for a couple of days. Then we called it "pot luck"
Tonight I am doing chicken tenders and left over potato salad.

Good Morning Everyone!
Maryz - Good Travels today! Northern California have had so much rain I think you are wise not to be traveling on Route 5. I also see you will be home for Valentine's Day, any plans?

Jana - You must be getting lots of rain this year too. Los Angeles has just over 16 inches of rain for the season, over 10 inches since January 1st. Our usual rain total is about 14 inches, maybe a little less for the year. Our year won't be up until October 1st!

Becca - Happy sewing of those baby quilts! Hopefully, your DGS is safe from the slides. Slides can happen weeks after a rainstorm here as well as during a rain storm.

Today I am going to a new (to me) Hairstylist. I am always a bit nervous going to a new person, Also going to knitting this afternoon. The sweater I am working on is really cute and I am having fun working on it. I am also binding a charity quilt. Meanwhile I have been doing some uglies.

Tonight's dinner will be leftovers. We had Pork Chop Skillet dinner last night and there is plenty left.

Have a Great day everyone!
Carol

Good afternoon to melting snow, climbing temps and happy, singing birds.....And, I could add, happy, happy me.....Any time the temps get above 50, that's reason to be happy......

Mary, have never been to most of that part of the country and if I ever get a chance, I'll make sure we stop in Winnemucca and stay at Motel 6...I'm sure Tom Boget (or whatever his name is) will keep the light on.....Which makes me smile because the kids always call me Mrs. B because I always tell them, I'll keep the light on...Oh well, great to hear you'll be home soon and we all pray, safe and sound...I'm not real concerned about Terry getting this job just because he does have a darn good job right now and Nick still has a couple of months to go before graduating...Although, they have already made plans in case he does come this way before June....AND in our family as most, everyone is way too busy or just can't accept the fact that their Dad is never going to be as he was...I hate to say this, but our oldest DS lives within a mile or so away and hasn't seen Jim since before Christmas...I've called him in an emergency but by the time he gets here, everything is calmed down and he probably thinks I'm crying wolf so I've decided, I won't call again...If need be, I have great neighbors I can call any time of the day or night...So, it's me and the fur kids who handle what we can around here.....I've also done a lot of thinking and as great as it will be to have Terry in the area, I'm not going to put the burden on his shoulders and ask too much.......My biggest fear is that I'll turn into a "bitter old lady".....Well enough of that, right!

Vel, had to laugh about having no leftovers...When all our kids were home, it was 7 of us around the table and for sure there was nothing left over..And by chance, there was, someone would say, give it to Chris.. Brings back lots of good memories...

Becca, I also am hoping and praying for a safe, healthy delivery for those babies and also, Momma...What a miracle, 2 babies....Lots of hugs and kisses.....

Jana, Motel 6 must be a popular spot in Winnemucca...Oh I love that word, lol....Glad to hear Daniel is OK and sure hope things get better in that area...Amazing what water can do.....

Around here it's ugly and laundry day, not a lot of each but just enough to make it look presentable....The biggest job is trying to clean off my desk, what a mess.....

For our dinner, all this talk about pizza has me thinking...I'll bet if I look hard enough, I'll find a couple of pieces of Nicky's home made pizza in the freezer.....And there's always ice cream and store bought cookies for afters...........

Happy eating..........

BIG Eagle Update:

There is a hatch at the Berry College nest in Georgia, cutest little thing you've ever seen...
AND, 1st eggs were laid in both the Hays nest near me and also in the nest in Hanover...What is funny, both eggs were laid at about the exact same time....Exciting time for eagle fans......(not that I'm one, lol)
