Good morning!
We are forecast to go to 80* today with 91% humidity. Guess I'm going to have to go buy some shorts! This is just silly for end of December!
CHICKIE - sounds like you (or your property) are indeed, popular! Are you recovered from your 'bug' and from the Christmas rush yet?
IRISH - you know, I've heard the same thing - that rum is good in egg nog. Not that I would know first hand either! ;o) Glad you found a washer! Do you get fuel points with purchase of gift cards? I assume you bought the gift cards to pay for your washer at HD? I would never have thought of that! Though we did put a small part of our new trailer on our Costco VISA to get points. Any news on the eaglet front?? How long will the boys be with you? Is this Nick's last year of school or is there one more to go?
JANA - hope all your embroidery machine needs is a good cleaning. What is your first project with your new Activity Girls going to be?
Well, we aren't getting the camp hosting position. Our very good friends, who have it now, decided to stay another two months - mainly for financial reasons. They are full-timers and this position is "free living" for them and their income, due to his disability being yanked by his insurance company, is very limited. And we'd rather have the friends close by than the position anyway.
Supper last night ended up being veggies/dip and cheese and crackers. All the friends gathered at our campsite and sat around the fire until 7pm. So today we decided to have supper around 3pm - lupper, actually. And it will probably be the 'something Mexican' that I was planning for last night.
What something is going on your plate tonite?

Good morning! We’re 40 going for maybe 57 today. That would certainly be nice if it “felt like” 57 (or more!).
Our property is popular… LOL! “Florida” is bringing his sister and family out today for pictures around the barns and area. When he was here earlier, I took a photo of him and his family at the end of the dock with the pond around them. They ordered a large canvas print of it.
Last evening I met DD halfway and brought Tasha home with me until Friday afternoon. Boomer just went in her bedroom and woke her up… what’s better than doggie kisses? He stood outside the closed door and “asked” for me to let him in. She was happy. She comes to see the Hooligans, not me. They all accompanied me for the ride to get her.
As for me “bug”… I’m still not 100%. I had quit taking the Claritin (generic) daily, and now I’m wondering if it isn’t just crazy allergies.
Mary—I’d say the park host position worked out well for your friends and for you. Sounds like you had a fun “lupper”.
Speaking of rum… we were, weren’t we??? My sister brought me a bottle of rum chata. That’s some good stuff, too. We buy everything on credit card to get the cash back, too. It worked out well after the fire, as we could go online and get all our expenditures and figure out what was spent on farm and rentals from the records for our tax returns.
I guess we will be taking care of Ava today—need to check about Choc (and maybe Maggie)—and directing photo shoots. I think my sewing machine will be lonely until next week. I plan to finish up my Christmas sewing and work on some more projects. I have way too many UFOs and want to do some more sew alongs this year plus comfort quilts (to get ahead in case of need), plus lotto… SEW much to do…
Dinner tonight… maybe steak for T and D since I grilled a couple last evening--that is, unless we go up to the corner for the chicken fried chicken and steak night… That’s always a last minute option.
I have to help Tasha with some math homework… finding slope of two points on a graph. Oh, I do need an algebra refresher!!!
Bon appétit!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Dec 28
Good early afternoon from a very sunny, still chilly but gorgeous, SW. Pa.....Not sure how warm it will be today but we take it all with open arms (and less sweat shirts)...BUT, in passing the TV, I overheard that 4 letter word being predicted for later this week....Of course then I worry about the kids getting back to NC but Nick is thrilled to hear that word.....KIDS!
Mary, my heavens, go shopping and get those shorts....I hope to talk to my friend in Ft. Myers tonight and of course she will be bragging about the heat....Finally, after all these years, I've finally gotten smart about the gift and charge cards...Yes, I did use the gift cards for the washer and when I bought the cards, I used my charge because we get money back on our Visa...With the grocery store, we get gas perks on all money spent there...Right now, we have $1.55 off on gas...Normally at Christmas I do buy lots of gift cards and then give the perks to the one who comes the farthest, which will be Terry.....As long as the charge is paid off each month, I love it! Sitting around the fire with friends and munchies, It's good to be you!
Chickie, There is a "bug" going around here...Dan, his DGF and all her family have had it since Christmas....But, too, those allergies can do weird things...I'll bet you're in your glory having Tasha visiting..If the boys don't have their door firmly shut, BabyGirl will sneak in for her dose of loven'....I know we've seen some pictures of your place but maybe it's time for more....It does sound like heaven.....
Today is another lazy day....Everyone slept in today but I sure woke up quickly when Jim's brother called and said, he and DSIL would like to stop down....Give me 1/2 an hour to make things (including myself) look presentable and come on down...They stayed for about an hour and it was a good visit for Jim.....
Not sure what the boys have planned but I'm sure there will be something in the works....
For our dinner, I put a rump roast in the crock pot and it cooked all night...It smells so good in the house, will be hard to wait until dinner time.....I know Nick loves mashed potatoes and gravy and I'll find a veggie....We still have pecan pie and ice cream for afters......
Happy eating................
Nothing new on the eagles, We're still pacing.....It could be the 1st egg she layed isn't viable and now we could be just waiting for the 2nd egg to get a PIP....But, you just never know about the eagles...By burying the 1st egg, it could have been a way to hold off the hatching until the 2nd egg was ready...As I said, you just never know......
