This is a great lotto. It would be fun to join, but I don't want to commit to anything yet. I am still having difficulty staying focused on my projects and afraid I might not get them completed by the deadline.

Hi Anne - Great questions for a newbie! All blocks are welcome as Chickie says and I very much agree. Always NO Pressure here. There are no number of required blocks. It is up to how many you would like to stitch and what time allows for you to stitch. All blocks are welcome
But a Tip: If this is a block you truely would like to win - the more blocks, the more tickets, the more chances. Yes, please send American money.
Remember Mary's Tip and I strongly agree: This is a block that you MUST LOVE YOUR RULER. Watch the consistency of a good QUARTER INCH SEAM from top to bottom. Press after sewing each strip. **You will do great!!!!
**** For everyone: Make a practice block using Muslin or other fabric to find the right Quarter Inch seam allowance to reach 12.75"
Oh Mary - I am thrilled you have fabric in your camper to join us. I a sew sorry about not needing to go shopping. I will do my best next month

Yea Jacquie - What FUN to have you with us this month from across the pond. Now I am wondering what my mini will look like
Izzy - tickets for the most asked questions? Never thought of it but maybe I should? So lets see if I can get all the answers for you.
* Yes, any color will be wonderful. Doesn't have to be in the Red family. Can be any color that would go beautifully with the reds and the yellow centers will pop.
* Hoping you have the color choice you choose with a white/light cream background for the light side. For the sake of not needing to go shopping: If you need to use a white on white then use it between the print strips on the inside of the block. As you can see in my block the white of the inside strips is a shade darker so yes you can use a light cream.
Velda - I will eagerly await if you will be able to join us. How wonderful of you to make Mission Quilts. I hope you share pictures
I will put you down as a maybe if time and fabric allows.
Joyce - WELCOME!!! I do hope life settles for you some and that you can do more stitching. Very happy you love this block and that you do have reds!!
MaryRose - I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad to know you are still working on projects. Slow and steady everyday. The Lord is always with you. I will add you as a maybe if time allows. NO pressure or worries if time gets in the way. HUGE HUGS!!
We are off to a GREAT BEGINNING!!!! WELCOME EVERYONE!!!!

I would like to add this 'tip' since we are working with reds here. Please, please PLEASE make sure to prewash your fabrics. A friend of mine gave me a lot of her scraps, mostly red, and I realized she didn't prewash. So I have them in a basin soaking and the water is blood red. The last swap quilt I put together had a lot of red in it and it ran into the white. I wasn't happy. So please don't forget Rule #1 - prewash! Thanks!

That is a very good point Mary.
I have ordered a few 1/2 metres of reds and that is the first thing I shall be doing when they arrive.
It would be a terrible shame to have such a beautiful vibrant red/white quilt become a not so attractive red/pink quilt :/
Hugs all, Jacquie xxx

Jacquie - Glad you were able to find some fabrics that will work. Where did you order from?? Hope you got a great price
Mary always has good points and does keep me on my toes which I appreciate HUGELY!!! and you are definitely right about washing. I am so used to washing I forget to remind everyone else. I will endevour to make sure I keep that in the instructions.
WELCOME PAT - very happy to see you are interested. Have fun stash diving for your fabrics
Went to my Weight Watchers meeting this morning. Down 3lbs in December so I treated myself to some different Red/White - White/Red fabrics. She had 5 new ones I didn't have plus a Halloween fabric 50%off. Happy New Year to me!!!!
Hope you are finding some joys to make the day brighter for you.

These are not fabrics I tend to buy. I did stop at the LQS that is closing just to check. Nothing that matches the requirements. I will bow out this month.
